Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – CLEM BROWN 2YO WESTBRED MAIDEN PACE (2130MS)
SOUTHERN ROCK (T Wheeler)- Was a late withdrawal at 12.04pm after a shadow roll was approved to be fitted prior to the start due to the colt attempting to jump a shadow in the back straight on a number of occasions during the preliminary, however the colt then again attempted to jump the shadow in the score up and broke gait, causing a false start when causing interference to LAZI DAIS (S McDonald). Trainer Mr Peter Anderson was advised the colt must complete a satisfactory requalifying trial prior to racing again.

General: Driver S Simms (ROCK THE BANK) was cautioned in relation to abruptly reducing the pace when racing outside the leader in the back straight on the first occasion.

No racing incidents to report.
RACE 6 – TRAYNING CUP PACE (2130MS)
PRINCE OF PAIN (D Roberts)-When questioned regarding the performance, Driver D Roberts expressed disappointment which she attributed to the gelding not travelling well enroute to the course and remaining fractious prior to the race and that it had over-raced and failed to settle throughout running.

QUEEN OF STARS (L Elliott)-Raced roughly for a short distance after the start.
MILITARY STAR (S Suvaljko)-A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be coughing. Trainer Mr M Scott advised he would monitor the gelding’s recovery and report any further abnormalities and added that he would consider having the gelding driven more patiently at its next start.
