RACE 1 – WALTER DOWDING & KEN COUPER MEMORIAL PACE (2130MS)
Stewards held up all clear and advised patrons to hold all tickets to view the official patrol film and interview the driver of VELVET SHADOW (T. Wheeler) to ascertain if an advantage was gained by racing inside several marker pegs entering the front straight on the final occasion subsequently finishing 4th by a distance of 1 metre to the 5th placed THE BLACK ADDA (M. Miller). On inquiry Mr Wheeler put forward that the hopple shortening cord had become loose which had affected VELVET SHADOW’s tractability causing the gelding to hang inwards and race inside several marker pegs. After viewing the official patrol film and considering all evidence, Stewards were satisfied that VELVET SHADOW had not gained an advantage and the all clear was given on the judge’s numbers of 1,7,2 and 4. Further, Mr Wheeler was reminded of his obligations under HR 163(1)(c)(i) to not allow his horse or sulky to shift inside marker pegs.
ROLLYOUROWN (H. Hancock) - Broke gait shortly after the start was effected. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.

RACE 4 – ALEX POSTANS & DENIS HOBSON MEMORIAL 4YO+ PACE (1730MS)
JUSTA REACTION (H. Reeves) - Was out of position as the start was effected. Will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Driver H. Reeves was questioned in relation to his tactics in the middle stage of the event after electing to leave a trailing position in an attempt to find a forward position in the moving line, however was unable to obtain that position resulting in JUSTA REACTION racing in the 3 wide line until giving ground at the 400 subsequently beaten 77 metres. Mr Reeves advised that due to the moderate early quarters and in his opinion KRAKKA LIGHTNING (S. Butterworth) would relinquish the lead of the moving line to obtain cover, he attempted to establish a forward position. Further, Mr Reeves put forward that the gelding had a tendency to hang inwards around the corners disadvantaging the midrace move. Stewards noted Mr Reeves comments.
RACE 5 – S M ELLIOTT MEMORIAL 3YO PACE (2130MS)
Stewards held up all clear and advised patrons to hold all tickets to view the official patrol film and interview the driver of READY TO ATTACK (K. Harper) to ascertain whether it was afforded a fair start after breaking gait in the score up. , On inquiry Mr Harper put forward that due to the fractious nature of STEPPING WOLF (M. Miller) this had resulted in runners to that gelding’s outside shifting upwards placing READY TO ATTACK in restricted room and subsequently breaking gait before the start was effected. After viewing the official patrol film and considering all evidence, Stewards were satisfied that READY TO ATTACK had not been afforded a fair start and therefore was declared a non-runner under the provisions of HR 141(1)(b).
