Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – GEORGE TILLER & TERRY SILVER 4YO+ WESTBRED PACE
BATAVIA JANE (T Wheeler) – Gave ground over the final 400m being beaten 172m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Stood down for 6 days and until completing one satisfactory trial.
MUMMAS LITTLE STAR (E Suvaljko) – Out of position as the start was affected. Driver was reprimanded under HR 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain position. Lost its one-legged spreader in running.
ALTACHAERA (A Suvaljko) - Out of position as the start was affected. Driver was reprimanded under HR 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain position.
JACK MANNIX (S Suvaljko) – Broke gait after the start was affected. Excluded from the mobile barrier draw for four starts.
SAVE THIS DANCE (C Wallrodt) – Dropped a knee boot in running.
RACE 2 – PETER IBBOTSON & JAMES SCOTT PACE
FOLLOW THE MUSIC (K Harper) – Driver expressed disappointment and advised that after racing wide in the back straight the gelding failed to muster any pace and tired over the concluding stages.
RACE 3 – JENNA SAUNDERS & VERONICA KENT PACE
No incidents to report.
RACE 4 – TONY CUKELLA & ERNIE BARNES PACE
MAKE IT QUICK (D Harper) – Broke gait when racing into the front straight on the final occasion. Stood down for 6 days and until completing one satisfactory trial.
RACE 5 – RALPH DOWDING & HARRY WARE PACE
MADDY MADDY (C Wallrodt) – Broke after the start. Excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
RECOVER LOVER (D Harper) – Utilised the sprint lane.
RACE 6 – JEAN WHITFIELD & MYRA JARVIS 3YO WESTBRED DIV.1 PACE
TERASITA (E Suvaljko) – The driver advised that the filly commenced to over-race when racing outside the leader and elected to take a forward position. The filly continued to over-race when leading with the driver advising that it would have been more detrimental if she had attempted to restrain it back through the middle stages.
RACE 7 – ALEX POSTANS & VIC BOLTO 3YO WESTBRED DIV.2 PACE
ELEGANT EAGLE (B Stanley) – Broke gait when racing into the back straight on the final occasion. Stood down for 6 days and one satisfactory trial.
MARLEDIE (J Suvaljko) – Checked by a galloping runner when racing into the back straight on the final occasion.
LOWLANDS BEACH BOY (K Symington) – Checked by a galloping runner and broke gait when racing into the back straight on the final occasion.
