RACE 1 – DONGES IGA – THANK YOU PACE – 1720 metres

HARLEY JAMES– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding is 12 years of age.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.  When negotiating the first turn had a tendency to race rough for a short distance.

NIFTY JOLT– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

POLKA DOT DANCE NZ– Pre-race blood.

COMPLICATED– Cast a offside hind shoe when negotiating the first turn as a result the shoe has contacted the right elbow of driver J Turnbull.  A post-race examination by on course paramedics revealed J Turnbull to suffer a laceration to the elbow which required stitches and as such was transported to hospital for treatment.  Mr Turnbull was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to him driving.

SEEMESHINEYHEELS– Post-race swab.

 

RACE 2 – POPPA’S FUDGE FACTORY 3YO PACE – 1720 metres

MISS MIKI MAY– Driver J Locke was approved as the replacement driver for J Turnbull.

ROSIE POLLEN– Pre-race blood.  Had a tendency to hang in passing the 400 metres contacting marker pegs.  A warning was issued.  Driver R Coelli was questioned on the overall performance of the filly when she finished in seventh position beaten 19.8 metres.  He stated the filly failed to handle the heavy surface and as a result hung in throughout the event contributing to the overall performance. 

AMERICAN BOULEVARD– Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up.  A warning was issued.

LENNY LINCOLN NZ– Post-race swab.

VINY JAY– Became unbalanced and broke stride at the 1500 metres, then again broke stride at the 700 metres.  Considering the gelding’s recent race record VINY JAY will be stood down for a period of 14 days and must also requalify on two occasions.  At the request of connections the gelding will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

 

RACE 3 – ARMA INSURANCE BROKERS PACE – 1720 metres

IDEAL TAO– Over the final 500 metres had a tendency to hang out until passing the 400 metres where JACKS LAST HOO RAA was able to obtain a run to its inside.  The mare then continued to shift out under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion.  IDEAL TAO will be given its last chance to race truly.

JACKS LAST HOO RAA– Approaching the 400 metres was able to obtain a run to the inside of IDEAL TAO when that runner had hung out under pressure.

ALLEGRETTO– Pre-race blood.  Post-race swab.

BLAZING– Despite the efforts of its driver was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 4 – TURNERS FURNITURE ONE PACE – 1720 metres

BELLAGANOOSH– Pre-race blood.  Had a tendency to hang in shortly after the start then when negotiating the first turn hung out, became unbalanced and broke stride resulting in a number of runners being checked to various degrees.  A warning was issued.  As a result of breaking stride the mare took no competitive part in the race.

PADDY MACH– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Post-race swab.

JAZZMIN– When negotiating the first turn was checked when BELLAGANOOSH broke stride.

IRK MCGLURK– When negotiating the first turn was checked when BELLAGANOOSH  broke stride.

OUR SAILOR– When negotiating the first turn was checked and broke when BELLAGANOOSH  broke stride.

LOGAN REASON– When negotiating the first turn was checked and broke when BELLAGANOOSH  broke stride.

RIP JACKSON– When negotiating the first turn was checked and broke when BELLAGANOOSH  broke stride.

JACKS UP– When negotiating the first turn was checked and broke when BELLAGANOOSH had broke stride.

JOES REDEMPTION– When negotiating the first turn was checked and broke when BELLAGANOOSH  broke stride, then continued to work forward three wide until obtaining the position outside the leader leaving the 1300 metres.

 

RACE 5 – TRIMECH PACE – 1720 metres

MAGIC MATTEO– Galloped out as the start was affected.  A warning was issued.

ROCK STEADY– Pre-race blood.  Driver N Turnbull was issued a reprimand under rule 168(1)(a) in that when approaching the 200 metres while activating gear has allowed his runner to shift in and as a result MISS ARDLETHAN was placed in restricted racing room. 

BETABRO– Leaving the 300 metres was checked and broke stride after contacting the sulky wheel of MISS ARDLETHAN when that runner shifted down the track.

MISS ARDLETHAN– Driver T Pilon was issued a reprimand under rule 168(1)(a) in that when leaving the 300 metres has attempted to shift his runner wider on the track when insufficiently clear of MY ULTIMATE FLYNN NZ and as a result his runner was checked and raced roughly, shifting back down the track marginally tightening the running of BETABRO.  Approaching the 200 metres was placed in restricted racing room when ROCK STEADY hung in.

WARRAWEE CRUZIN– Inconvenienced shortly after the start when trailing MAGIC MATTEO.

JEKAMIAS NZ– Post-race swab.

 

RACE 6 – HRNSW GUARANTEED 2YO FILLIES PACE – 1720 metres

STELLA MACH– Negotiating the turn into the home straight on the final occasion was inconvenienced when LAST FLITE hung in under pressure.

CAPTAIN EVIE– Pre-race blood.  Had a tendency to race roughly for a short distance after the start.  Approaching the 800 metres became unbalanced and broke stride.  As it was the filly’s first start CAPTAIN EVIE will be required to requalify on one occasion.

SMOOTH CHAKRA– Placed in restricted racing room at the 150 metres as a result of LAST FLITE being corrected up the track due to its racing manners. 

DOLLAR BROWNIE– Checked and broke at the 700 metres when CAPTAIN EVIE broke stride.  Inconvenienced at the 150 metres when SMOOTH CHAKRA had been shifted up the track.  As a result of this incident driver R Coelli became unbalanced in the sulky and momentarily lowered his left foot from the sulky rest.  Post-race swab.

ELLENS DELIGHT– Over the final 400 metres had a tendency to hang in and contacting marker pegs at the 200 metres.  As a result of this incident driver B James momentarily lowered his left foot from the sulky rest.  A warning was placed on the filly’s racing manners.

LAST FLITE– Inconvenienced at the 700 metres as a result of CAPTAIN EVIE breaking stride.  In the home straight on the final occasion had a tendency to hang in.  When being corrected up the track has tightened the racing room of SMOOTH CHAKRA who in turn was taken up the track inconveniencing DOLLAR BROWNIE.  A warning was placed on the filly’s racing manners.

 

RACE 7 – THE TAB APP 2YO PACE – 1720 metres

GIBBS– Had a tendency to race roughly under pressure over the final 500 metres.

THE KING OFTHEROAD– Driver M Day Jnr pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that approaching the 200 metres has allowed his runner to shift down the track when insufficiently clear of CALM REASON as a result that runner was placed in restricted racing room contacting the sulky wheel and racing roughly for a short distance.  Considering M Day Jnr’s record in relation to this rule and his guilty plea his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days.  The suspension is to commence on Monday, 3rd December 2024.

MY ULTIMATE BRUNO– Pre-race blood.  Driver S Hallcroft was queried on the overall performance of the gelding when tiring over the concluding stages to finish in seventh position beaten a considerable distance.  He stated the gelding never travelled comfortably at all throughout the event and when placed under pressure over the concluding stages failed to respond.  MY ULTIMATE BRUNO will be stood down for one requalifying trial. 

CALM REASON– Approaching the 200 metres was placed in restricted racing room as a result of THE KING OFTHEROAD shifting down the track contacting that runner’s inside sulky wheel and raced rough for a short distance.

MAMMALS BLAZE– Post-race swab.

 

RACE 8 – AUSTRALIAN HOTEL PACE – 1720 metres

BLACK ART NZ– Driver J Locke was queried on the overall performance of the gelding where it failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in seventh position beaten 17.4 metres.  Mr Locke stated the gelding was very disappointing and could give no reasonable explanation for the poor performance.

SUNNYWITHACHANCE– Pre-race blood. 

SMOKIN TALLY– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination. 

INGERMARLA– Driver T Day was find the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to bring his runner up to the mobile barrier gate prior to the start. 

ROSE OF JULIANA– Post-race swab.

 

RACE 9 – YOUNG WORKWEAR PACE – 1720 metres

FULL OF SPICE– Driver M Hardy was cautioned on his whip use in the home straight on the final occasion.

FEAR THE PAIN NZ– Post-race swab.

MILLYANO– Hung out shortly after the start was affected.  Had a tendency to race roughly throughout the event.  A warning was issued.

LIL BIT WESTERN– Checked after the start as a result of MILLYANO shifting out.

SMARTSUNSHINE– Pre-race blood.

PENN STATION– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has not raced since 14 November 2023.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

ZULU ZANE– Out of position as the start was affected.  The gelding will continue to be placed right outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
