RACE 1 – DONGES IGA LADYSHIP PACE – 1720 metres

TROUBLE IN HEAVEN– Pre-race blood.  When entering the home straight on the final occasion had a tendency to shift out under pressure then when being corrected back down the track over reacted shifted in tightening the running of CALA JEWEL who was checked who in turn was shifted in and inconvenienced DARED TO DREAM.

AMERICAN BOULEVARD– Post-race swab.

ALLANEE– Pre-race warm up was approved. 

HOOTN HOLLA– Trainer/driver W Watterson could give no reasonable explanation for the poor performance for the mare which tired over the concluding 500 metres to finish in tenth position beaten 75 metres.  He further added it would be the intentions of the stable to retire the mare.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  In view of the performance HOOTN HOLLA will be stood down for one requalifying trial.

CALA JEWEL– When entering the home straight on the final occasion after being tightened was checked when TROUBLE IN HEAVEN had shifted in.

DARED TO DREAM– Checked between the 600 and the 450 metres when trailing HOOTN HOLLA who was giving ground.  Entering the home straight on the final occasion was inconvenienced when CALA JEWEL was tightened and shifted down the track.

RACE 2 – QUAYLE MILLING PACE – 2100 metres

LINE DANCE– Pre-race blood. 

KNOW THE SCORE– Post-race swab.

SEE ME NO MORE– Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. 

WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY– When entering the first turn had a tendency to hang in. 

RACE 3 – SOUTHWEST TRACTORS PACE – 1720 metres

LIZZARDRO– Hung out in the score up.  A warning was issued.

LEAD ROLE– Post-race swab.

MASAKE– Checked after the start when SPEEDY SPORT hung in making contact with the sulky.  Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

SPEEDY SPORT– Hung in in the latter stages of the score up and as a result broke stride.  A warning was issued.

STUDLEIGH PATRICIA– Inconvenienced in the score up when LIZZADRO had hung out slightly.

THE REAL ROCKETMAN NZ– Inconvenienced after the start when SPEEDY SPORT who had broke stride and contact with MASAKE.  Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres. 

IMPERIOUS– Checked and broke after the start when trailing SPEEDY SPORT who had broke stride.

DIGYOURHEELSIN– Pre-race blood.  At the request of connections the mare will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

RACE 4 – TRIMECH PACE – 1720 metres

MI MATE RON– Broke stride shortly after the start.  A warning was issued.

CRACKER MISS– Despite the efforts of its driver was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.

LOGAN REASON– Pre-race blood. 

BULLI BELLE– Inconvenienced after the start when shifting to the inside of MI MATE RON who had broke stride.  Post-race swab.

RACE 5 – TURNERS FURNITURE ONE PACE – 1720 metres

GOODTIME JUNIOR– Approaching the 1300 metres was inconvenienced when JOETOMO shifted down the track when insufficiently clear.

JOETOMO– Driver J Locke was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that when approaching the 1300 metres has shifted his runner down the track without the required clearance of GOODTIME JUNIOR and as a result that runner was inconvenienced.  Entering the home straight on the final occasion when being held up the gelding hung out slightly making contact to the sulky wheel of TWENTYEIGHTBLACK and breaking stride.  A warning will be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. 

ULAANBAATAR– Entering the home straight on the final occasion was checked when trailing JOETOMO who had broke stride.

KARINYA GILL– Post-race swab.

IM BELIEBER– Pre-race blood. 

TWENTYEIGHTBLACK– The near side sulky wheel was contacted entering the home straight on the final occasion when JOETOMO hung out slightly.

RACE 6 – YOUNG WORKWEAR PACE – 1720 metres

DEAD EYE TIKI– Post-race swab.

BELLASBEACHBOY– Inconvenienced at the 1400 metres when the pace in the running line had eased.

COMPLICATED– Pre-race blood.  Driver J Turnbull was issued a reprimand under local rule 162(1)(u) in that when leaving the 1400 metres when looking for cover has eased the pace resulting in several runners trailing to be inconvenienced.

THATS THE ATTITUDE– Leaving the 1400 metres was inconvenienced when the pace in the running line had eased.

CRAZY SHIPPO– Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

IDEAL TAO– Leaving the 1400 metres was inconvenienced when the pace in the running line had eased.

MAJOR JAMANE– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding is 12 years of age.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination. 

GLEMELLY BEACH– Leaving the 1400 metres was inconvenienced when the pace in the running line had eased.

RACE 7 – ARMA INSURANCE BROKERS PACE – 1720 metres

GENERAL

The fall siren was activated shortly after the start as result of SUNNYWITHACHANCE breaking stride, becoming unbalanced then falling with JACKS UP who was trailing making heavy contact to the back of SUNNYWITHACHANCE and also falling.  The re-running of the race was delayed for a period of time to allow on-course paramedics to attend to injured driver Tahlia Johnson and also the on-course vet to attend to JACKS UP who had received injuries in the fall.  SUNNYWITHACHANCE and JACKS UP were declared late scratching’s on veterinary advice at 8.27pm with the race being scheduled to be re-run at 8.52pm following the remaining horses passing a vets examination.

PARK RUN– A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Driver O Shea was issued a reprimand under rule 168(1)(a) in that when leaving the 400 metres has shifted his runner up the track where there was insufficient room to do so and as a result has made contact to the sulky wheel of BLACK ART NZ and was checked and raced roughly.  In not taking more serious action against Mr Shea’s licence Stewards were mindful of his inexperience and his acknowledgement of an error of judgement when reviewing the films.

SUNNYWITHACHANCE– Broke stride shortly after the start becoming unbalanced and falling.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained a superficial graze above the near side eye and near side knee. The mare will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts and must also requalify on one occasion in addition must submit a veterinary clearance prior to racing. Driver T. Johnson was transported to Young Hospital and then further transferred to Wagga Base Hospital with a  compound fracture of her elbow. Driver T. Johnson will require a medical clearance prior to driving again.

BLACK ART NZ– Leaving the 400 metres had its near side sulky wheel contacted when PARK RUN had shifted out when there was insufficient room.

KEEP PLAYING– When leaving the home straight on the final occasion had a tendency to hang out.

NONE GRATER– Post-race swab.

JACKS UP– Pre-race blood.  Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 8.27pm due to injuries sustained in a race fall.  A veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a large laceration to the chest which had penetrated to the muscle layer and as a result required stitching and pain relief.  Trainer B Swan was advised that JACKS UP would be stood down a veterinary clearance and for a period of 21 days. Driver P. McRae was uninjured in this incident.

RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1720 metres

I AM THE TORNADO– Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish.

SKYLAH ROCKS– Pre-race blood.  Pre-race warm up was approved.  Hung out shortly after the start was affected.  Had a tendency to race rough throughout the event.

SOMEBODYS GIRL– Post-race swab.

JUDDLEY– Over raced throughout the event.

DOTTIE FEELS GOOD– At the request of connections the mare will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
