Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 – LIFESTYLE WARRAGUL PACE (1790 MS)

JEDI MIND – (200+starts, 12+yrs) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy which revealed no abnormalities.

GROOM – Shifted out in the home straight.  Driver George Batsakis was cautioned for a lack of control.

SASSCILIAN– Inconvenienced in the home straight by Groom.

FEEL THE BUZZ – (200+starts, 12+yrs) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy which revealed no abnormalities.

SHOOBEES SPIRIT– Driver Taylor Youl fined $100 for failing to have the gelding in position at the start.

LETSGO MATILDA– Driver Corey Bell cautioned for failing to have the mare in position at the start.

RACE 2 –U3A MIRBOO NORTH PACE(1790 MS)

SIR FLOYD – Driver Ewa Justice fined $200 under AHR Rule 156(3) for applying the whip to the gelding on more occasions than permitted over the final 200m.

DEFT TOUCH – Driver Connor Clarke failed to appear in the racebook.

LOTAKEVI – (200+starts, 12+yrs) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy which revealed no abnormalities.  Raced roughly on the final turn.  Gave ground in home straight to be beaten 31m.

KARDESLER NZ– Held up for clear running on the final turn.

RACE 3 – YALLOURN NORTH SENIORS PACE (1790 MS)

TRINITYS DELIGHT – Utilised sprint lane in home straight.

READY TO ROCK– Hung in at various stages.

WOODLEA DIEGO NZ– Driver Ben Xiriha pleaded guilty to a charge under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion entering the home straight.  A fine of $400 was imposed.

LETSGO BIG GIRL– Broke in the score up and out of position at the start.  The mare will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.  Pulled hard throughout and held up for clear running on the final turn and in the home straight.

HEZA DOOZIE– Out of position at the start, no action taken given Letsgo Big Girl breaking gait prior to the release.

RACE 4 – FULL STEAM AHEAD TROT (2210 MS)

AETHON – Gave ground to be beaten 38m into 7th position.

MACHO MAORI– Broke in the score up and out of position at the start.  The gelding will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

MAORI FRANKLIN– Broke gait twice in running (1800m, 700m) when clear of interference and has now been stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

BLANCO CANYON– Trainer Allan Lousada cautioned for failing to advise Stewards on the driving tactics to be adopted on the stable runners.

KAOTIC FLAIR– Broke gait when clear of interference on the first turn.

MAJESTIC CONNIES NZ– Pulled hard in the lead.

MAORI DUCHESS– Broke after the start and will continue to be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

RACE 5 – DOWNTOWNER YARRA VALLEY PACING CUP (1ST HEAT) (2210 MS)

ROCKNROLL GRONK – Gave ground to be beaten 37m into 6th position.

OH NO NEVER AGAIN– Hung out in the score up and broke gait.  The gelding will continue to be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

DRESSED IN GOLD NZ– Broke gait in the early stages of the score up and will continue to be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.  Pulled hard middle stages.

RACE 6 – HEART FOUNDATION WALKING GROUP PACE (2210 MS)

OUR FIRE AND DELIGHT NZ – Utilised sprint lane in home straight.

STRONG RESPONSE– Driver Connor Clarke replaced Chris Alford (dual engaged).  Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.
