General: All drivers at today’s race meeting were subjected to alcohol testing prior to driving, with all negative findings.
RACE 1 – DUNCAN’S FLOOR COVERINGS 2YO PACE – 1740 metres
LEXY LONGSTOCKINGS – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the filly to have a small rub abrasion on the neck. No stand down was required.
DEAR DARLING – Over raced during the early & middle stages of the event.
SEASIDER – Post-race swab.
BASILS BLACKSPARRA – Stewards refrained taking action against the filly being out of position when the start was effected due the speed of the mobile.
TUFFASOLDBOOTS – Stewards refrained taking action against the gelding being out of position when the start was effected due the speed of the mobile.
LA CAVALLETTA – Pre-race swab.
LOUIS THE LEGEND – Stewards refrained taking action against the gelding being out of position when the start was effected due the speed of the mobile.
RACE 2– GLASGOW ELECTRICS PACE – 1740 metres
AUNTIE LOU – Pre-race swab.
WONGALEA MEG – Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.
COOLANDCOLLECT – Post-race swab.
SHOULDBETWOBYTWO – Over raced during the middle stages of the event. Broke gait clear of interference approaching the 800m. SHOULDBETWOBYTWO will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.
RACE 3 – LEMONS SERVICE & REPAIRS PACE – 1740 metres
WALLY BLASTER – Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.
PIRANI PRINCESS – Post-race swab.
LENNY LINCOLN – Over raced during the early & middle stages of the event.
GEOFFREY BEE – Held up over the latter stages of the event.
UNIT FORTY ONE – Driver Ky Bloomfield pleaded guilty to a charge under AHR Rule 163(1)(b)(i) the particulars of the charge approaching the 700m he permitted UNIT FORTY ONE to shift outwards when insufficiently clear of ASHFORD SHARK which was improving forward three (3) wide & forcing that runner wider on the track than required prior to the candy pole.In assessing penalty Stewards took into account the relevant considerations as outlined within the HRNSW Penalty Guidelines placing particular weight on Mr Bloomfield’s guilty plea, his clear driving record & the racing manners of UNIT FORTY ONE. Stewards accordingly imposed a seven (7) day suspension of his licence to drive in races which was ordered to commence midnight 3rd November 2024.
TROUBLE IN HEAVEN – Broke gait during the early stages of the score up and was out of position when the start was effected. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of TROUBLE IN HEAVEN.
AMERICAN BOULEVARD – Pre-race swab.
ASHFORD SHARK – Broke gait during the latter stages of the score up and was out of position when the start was effected. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of ASHFORD SHARK.
RACE 4– APPRECIATION TO BOY AND CUB DOWNEY PACE – 1740 metres
BRACKEN WARRIOR – Broke its second carrying strap entering the first turn. The gear was inspected by stewards and found to be of sound quality.Post-race swab.
SCOTTIE MACH – Pre-race swab.
THE MOUNTAIN – Checked and broke gait shortly after the start was effected whenCLASSIC BEESMACKhung inwards.
CLASSIC BEESMACK – Hung inwards despite the driver’s efforts shortly after the start was effected checkingTHE MOUNTAIN. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of CLASSIC BEESMACK.
MOP NZ – Held up during the early stages of the home straight prior to obtaining clear running.
RACE 5 – SJC CONTRACTING PACE – 1740 metres
HOTDELIGHT –($15.00) Driver Sam Hewitt was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 8th position beaten 21.1m after leading. Mr Hewitt attributed the performance to the filly enduring more pressure than anticipated during the first half and provided to be slightly disappointing over the latter stages of the event.
SHEZ A PUNTER – Broke gait during the early stages of the score up. A warning was issued against the filly barrier manners.
ROCKNROLL RAIDER – Post-race swab.
AELLA BY – ($15.00) Driver Tom Gilligan was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 6th position beaten 15m. Mr Gilligan advised the filly to be disappointing and may have come to the end of its preparation and would now be spelled.
MY ULTIMATE FLYNN NZ – Pre-race swab.
DUST TO DIAMONDS – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having attaining the age of 13 years old & started in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. Yielded ground rapidly from the 700m to finish in 10th & last position beaten 131m. DUST TO DIAMONDS will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.
RACE 6 – BRENDAN HEASLIP CONCRETING PACE – 1740 metres
THE BIGBOSS – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.
RACE 7 – RISING STARS SERIES FINAL – 2140 metres
General: Mitch Hutchings pleaded guilty to a charge under AHR Rule 91(1)(a) which reads: (1) A person shall not carry on an activity regulated by licence- (a) if that person is not the holder of a current licence. The particulars of the charge being Mr Hutchings was observed following the running of Race 7 unharnessing ITSALADYwhen not the holder of a current licence.In assessing penalty Stewards took into account the relevant considerations as outlined within the HRNSW Penalty Guidelines with prior penalties under this rule placing particular weight on Mr Hutchings’s guilty plea, his forthright evidence & prior clear record under this rule. Mr Hutchings was fined the sum of $250.
ONTHADARKSIDE – Driver Trevor Sutherland was reminded of his obligation when applying the whip over the concluding stages of the event.
EYES FOR DOLLARS – Yielded ground from the 600m to finish in 9th and last position beaten 79.2m. EYES FOR DOLLARS will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.
SHES NO HONEY – ($4.00) Driver Amanda Turnbull was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 5th position beaten 20.2m after leading from the 1650m. Ms Turnbull advised the filly failed to hand the track in particular on the turns again in hanging inwards & losing momentum.
ITSALADY – Hung inwards and yielded ground from the 700m to finish in 8th position beaten 60m. ITSALADY will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.
SUGAR COAT ME NZ – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab. Back in mobile draw.
RACE 8 – THE TAB APP WARATAH HEAT – 1740 metres
ARK ALERT – Pre-race swab. Raced roughly passing the 400m.
ULAANBAATAR – ($12.00) Connections were queried into the overall performance of the mare which finished in 7th position beaten 13.9m after trailing the leader throughout. Connections attributed the performance to the mare being up in grade to recent starts.
GOD BLESS YOU – Driver Jon Ponsonby was reminded of his obligation when applying the whip to the gelding he did so with a free hand on one (1) occasion. Mr Ponsonby was advised any further breaches would result in more action taken against him under AHR Rule 156.
MIKI PINS NZ – Post-race swab.
SPIRIT AND SOUL NZ – ($9.50) Driver James Locke was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 10th & last position beaten 27m. Mr Locke advised the gelding to be slightly disappointing & attributed the performance to the gelding being unable to improve from the rear of the field when wider on the track in a 58.1 seconds final half.
