Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.

RACE 1 – AYLMORE FABRICATION PACE (1776MS)

ALTACHAERA (J Rigoli) – Contacted the sulky of KOBE EDWARD (D Harper) in the front straight to receive the bell and consequently broke gait. Driver J Rigoli was fined $100 under HR168(1)(a) for careless driving for causing this incident.

General: Driver R Bell (GALEOCERDO CUVIER) was reprimanded under HR156(2)(a) for applying his whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.

RACE 2 – RW ENGINEERING (DIV.2) PACE (1776MS)

IMAHERO (A Vidovich) – Hung inwards throughout.  Tired over the concluding stages.

BUDEGI BLUE (N Turvey) – Hung outwards throughout.

SUKHOVEY WINDSTORM (A Cortopassi) – Returned having cast the off-hind plate.

RACE 3 – DURAGAL (DIV.1) PACE (1776MS)

PETER ROMEO (A Suvaljko) – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight.

ALEXANDRA THEGREAT (C Wallrodt) – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.

BETTERTHAN SECRET (A Cortopassi – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight.

RACE 4 – MIDALIA STEEL PACE (2590MS)

CLASSNSMART (A Suvaljko) – Tired over the concluding stages.  Driver A Suvaljko was questioned in relation to the tactics adopted, in particular the reason for shifting from behind the leader to race outside it approaching the front straight after the completion of 1 lap.  Mr Suvaljko put forward the gelding was racing strongly with a moderate tempo being set by the leader and added that the gelding lacks a turn of foot and races best when driven rolling along however acknowledged a more conservative approach will be taken in upcoming events.

BRAMANTE STEPS (J Rigoli) – Driver reported the mare was contacting the sulky throughout.

MAJIC BAY (H Charles) – Inconvenienced behind a tiring runner leaving the back straight on the final occasion.

RACE 5 – WAGIN CRC 3YO WESTBRED PRELUDE PACE (2180MS)

SHEZA SASSY LASSY (R Bell) – Driver R Bell was interviewed in relation to his application of the whip in this event. Upon conclusion, Mr Bell acknowledged he must alter his whip action to comply with the various sections under HR156 and committed to ensure he is confident of keeping any future whip use within the rules before returning to drive in races.

STAR OF THE GALAXY (A Vidovich) – Displaced a tendon boot during the event.

RACE 6 – TABTOUCH PLACE A SAME RACE MULTI PACE (1776MS)

OUR MUSICAL MOTION (A Shepherd) – Underwent a veterinary inspection upon arrival on course after a floating mishap and found to be lame in the near hind leg with areas of grazing.  Acting on this advice the mare was a late withdrawal by order of Stewards at 5.04pm. The mare will be stood down from racing for 7 days and until the provision of a veterinary clearance.  

RACE 7 – TABTOUCH BETTER YOUR BET PACE (2540SS)

MY GRAND ANGUS (L Elliott) – Broke gait shortly after the start was effected.  A warning was placed on the gelding’s standing start manners.

DANNIKA (J Suvaljko) – Galloped out when the start was effected.  A warning was placed on the mares Standing Start manners.

PENTHOUSE (J Rigoli) – Raced roughly after the start was effected.

VINITA ROSE NZ (A Cortopassi) – Broke gait leaving the back straight on the first occasion. The mare is now stood down from racing for 6 days and until such time as the completion  of a satisfactory re-qualifying trial.

SISTER ACT NZ (H Charles) – Raced roughly leaving the front straight on the first occasion.
