General: Steward inquired into the reason for Ignite (Narissa McMullen) galloping when racing on the outside of Triage (Leonard Cain) on the turn out of the back straight on the final occasion. After considering the evidence Stewards were of the view that the incident was caused by a combination of factors and noted the circumstances.

The driver’s licence of Nathan Dawson (Whirlwind Wilbur) was suspended for 10 days for the contravention of AHR 163(1)(a)(iii) for allowing Whirlwind Wilbur to shift in approaching the first turn after the start causing Natty Pagger NZ (Matthew Neilsen) to be tightened for room which in turn resulted in Ignite (Narissa McMullen) which was racing to the inside of Natty Pagger NZ being checked. In determining the penalty Stewards considered the evidence presented and evaluated all the relevant matters including Mr Dawson’s guilty penalty and previous good record.
