Race 1 - BARASTOC FEEDS PACE    1850M  MS

Hotel Kyvalley (TR) (Jordan Topping) Broke gait in the latter stages of the score-up on the first attempt, causing a false start. Connections were advised the gelding would be placed out of the barrier draw in future mobile starts. Raced roughly and shifted in when yielding ground leaving the 300metre point. Broke gait in the concluding stages of the event, and a warning was issued.  

Dartesian (Noel Parrish) Caught wide in the early stages and after failing to obtain a forward position, the gelding was restrained by the driver to the rear of the field.

Writeaboutchelsea (Trent Hodges) Was inclined to get its head up, and race ungenerously through the early and middle stages of the event, resulting in the mare shifting in, contacting marker pegs leaving the 1350metre point. Tightened and contacted a number of marker pegs when making forward progression to the inside of Hotel Kyvalley (Jordon Topping) leaving the 250metre point.

Race 2 – GARRARDS LOCKYER VALLEY VETS PACE    1850M  MS

Jelignite Jack (Errol Cain) Tired badly over the final 600metres of the event and was beaten in excess of 59 metres from the winner. Stewards directed the gelding to undergo a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings. Connections were advised the overall performance by Jelignite Jack was below the standard required and the gelding would be placed on its last chance to race competitively.

Underthekilt (Ricky Gordon) Forced three wide leaving the 600metre point when Make Mine Joe (Clint Petroff) shifted from a position to its inside, resulting in the gelding racing three wide for the remainder. Stewards directed a post-race veterinary examination. On recommendation from the veterinarian, a stand down period of seven (7) days was implemented.

Make Mine Joe (Clint Petroff) Driver suspended forced runner wide (AHR rule 163(1)(b)(i)).          

Jaziah (Leonard Cain) Worked forward after the start from a second-row draw, racing wide in the early stages before working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader.

Sheza Runny (Mathew Neilson) Back in the mobile draw after two (2) successful consecutive starts.

General:

The driving licence of Clint Petroff (Make Mine Joe) was suspended for a period of ten (10) days after pleading guilty to a charge under AHR rule 163(1)(b)(i) for obliging Underthekilt (Ricky Gordon) to cover more ground than necessary by carrying it wider on the track when changing positions leaving the 600metre point. In assessing the matter of penalty, stewards took into account Clint Petroff’s driving record under this rule and his guilty plea. Term of suspension will commence midnight the 20th of November 2022.

Race 3 - MARBURG TO ALBION PARK HEAT 1    1850M  MS

Heartbreak (Matt Elkins) Declared a late scratching at 1:40pm after a pre-race veterinary examination took place which revealed the mare to be lame in the off-side hind. Heartbreak will be stood down from racing for a period of seven (7) days.

Captain Braveheart (Narissa McMullen) Broke gait in the early stages of the score-up and was out of position when the start was affected, losing considerable ground. Connections were advised the gelding would be placed out of the barrier draw in future mobile starts. Contacted own sulky with hind leg when chasing to tack on to the rear of the field in the early stages, then tended to overrace through the middle stages at the rear of the field.    

Charlevoix (Ricky Gordon) Shifted out under pressure in the run to the finish.

Filly Thirteen (Angus Garrard) Checked in the score-up by the galloping Captain Braveheart (Narissa McMullen) but was able to fill its allotted position behind the mobile as the start was affected. Hung in and contacted a marker post near the 250metre point.  

Studleigh Mark (Taleah McMullen) Worked forward after the start from a second-row draw, racing wide in the early stages before working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader. Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event when racing outside of the leader.    

Race 4 - GRAHAM HARRIOTT TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP    2200M  SS

Willis Graham NZ (Steven Doherty) Broke gait near the 2000metre point when leading the event, losing considerable ground. A warning was issued.

Sonetto (Matt Crone) Galloped out and connections were advised the mare will be excluded from the draw in future standing starts. Broke gait free of interference near the 1300metre point. A warning was issued.

Day Tourer NZ (Leonard Cain) Lost a off-hind shoe during the event.

Shegotsass (Tim Gillespie) Completed the event with a flat off-side tyre.

Father Christmas NZ (Brendan Barnes) Commenced a three wide run near the 800metre point. Contacted and punctured the sulky wheel of Shegotsass (Tim Gillespie), when shifting wider on the track in an attempt to improve its position, leaving the 400metre point. Driver fined under AHR rule 168(1)(a).

General:

Driver Brendan Barnes (Father Christmas NZ) was fined a sum of $100 for being careless that leaving the 400metre point of the event, when shifting wider on the track allowed Father Christmas NZ to contact and puncture the off-side sulky tyre of Shegotsass (Tim Gillespie) placing that mare at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race  (AHR rule 168(1)(a)).

Stewards inquired into the reason behind Driver Tim Gillespie’s left foot dropping from the stirrup from the 300metre point to near the 200metre point of the event. Driver Tim Gillespie explained that just prior to dropping his left foot, his off-side tyre was contacted and punctured and when entering the bend at the 300metre point became unbalanced in the gig, therefore as a safety measure dropped his left foot. Stewards accepted the explanation tendered and noted the circumstances.    

Race 5 – OAKWOOD CAPITAL PACE     1850M  MS

Rafferty Delights (Trent Moffat) Shifted out under pressure in the run to the finish.

Aunty Frances (Clint Sneddon) Raced wide in the early stages of the event and after failing to obtain a forward position was restrained to the rear of the field. Hung in and contacted marker pegs approaching the 1300metre point.

Race 6 - MARBURG TO ALBION PARK HEAT 2    1850M  MS

Williewa Lightning (Joedy Whitaker) Gate speed and withstood a strong challenge for the lead from Nevada Yankee (Nathan Dawson) shortly after the start. Shifted out under pressure in the run to the finish.

Bukthsystem (Leonard Cain) Commenced a trailing three wide run approaching the 700metre point. Severely checked by the galloping My Ultimate Clippa (Ricky Gordon) leaving the 300metre point.

Nevada Yankee (Nathan Dawson) Showed good gate speed but was unsuccessful in challenging for the lead shortly after the start and was inclined to hang in and rough roughly shortly after when being restrained by the driver to race outside the leader.

Talkerup NZ (Clint Petroff) Commenced a three wide run approaching the 700metre point. Severely checked and broke gait leaving the 300metre point, losing considerable ground.

Midnight Somewhere (Adam Sanderson) Raced wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to obtain the position outside the leader.

Onlysbest (Mathew Neilson) Failed to obtain clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested to the line.

My Ultimate Clippa (Ricky Gordon) Broke gait free of interference leaving the 300metre point, losing considerable ground. After considering a good record in this regard, connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly.

Race 7 – REMEMBERING BRIAN DICKINSON PACE    1850M  MS

Pago Pago (Nathan Dawson) Raced wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to obtain the position outside the leader.

Rancho Man (Trent Lethaby) Caught wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the rear of the field.

Western Showgirl (Pete McMullen) Hung out when commencing a forward move rounding the home turn in the run to the finish.

Captain Oh Captain (Mathew Neilson) Held up early before obtaining clear running in the latter stages of the home straight.

Race 8 - MARBURG TO ALBION PARK HEAT 3    1850M  MS

Bettor Keep Rocking NZ (Nathan Dawson) Broke gait free of interference on the apex of the home turn. Taking into consideration the recent record of the gelding in this regard, connections were advised Bettor Keep Rocking NZ will be stood down from racing until two (2) satisfactory requalifying trials are completed and for a period of two (2) weeks.

Sista Bliss NZ (Shane Graham) Out of position when the start was affected. Driver reprimanded under AHR rule 162(1)(j). Commenced a three wide run leaving the 900metre point of the event. Became unbalanced and raced roughly when under pressure near the finish.        

General:

Driver Shane Graham was reprimanded under AHR rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain position behind the starting gate until the start is affected. Driver Shane Graham was advised to make more effort to maintain position in the latter stages of the score-up.     

Race 9 - A ROCKNROLL DANCE AT STUD UP TO NR70 HEAT 5    1850M  MS

Sailalong Sinbad (Dannielle Veivers) Raced wide in the early stages before working forward to obtain the position outside the leader. Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.

Luxury Lad (Angus Garrard) Raced wide in the early stages and after failing to obtain a forward position, the gelding was restrained by the driver to the rear of the field. Held up at a vital stage before obtaining clear running in the latter stages of the home straight.

Majordoit (Justin Elkins) Commenced a three wide run leaving the 800metre point.

Square Dealer NZ (Taleah McMullen) Commenced a trailing three wide run leaving the 800metre point.
