General:

Due to the rain affected track surface from continual rainfall, Stewards directed mudguards and splashsheets to be affixed to all sulkies prior to the first race, which remained on for the duration of the race meeting.

Race 1 – GOLDBET REWARDS PACE     1850M  [MS]

SPLIT EAR (Tom Ison) –Broke gait clear of interference turning out of the front straight on the final occasion when trailing the leader, checking multiple runners to varying degrees. After taking into consideration the recent racing record of SPLIT EAR in this regard, connections were advised the gelding will be required to complete two(2) satisfactory requalifying trials prior to recommencing racing.  

DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (Zac Chappenden) –Severely checked by the galloping SPLIT EAR (Tom Ison) on the turn out of the front straight on the final occasion and broke gait as a result.

SHE DAZZLES (Mathew Neilson) –Inconvenienced turning out of the front straight on the final occasion as a result of SPLIT EAR (Tom Ison) breaking gait.  

OLD ENGLISH (Justin Pascoe) –Checked on the turn out of the front straight on the final occasion as a result of SPLIT EAR (Tom Ison) breaking gait.

WESTRAY (Adam Richardson) -Inconvenienced turning out of the front straight on the final occasion as a result of SPLIT EAR (Tom Ison) breaking gait.

MY ULTIMATE HESTON (Gary Litzow) -Inconvenienced turning out of the front straight on the final occasion as a result of SPLIT EAR (Tom Ison) breaking gait.

Race 2 - MCGARRY EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES PACE     1850M  [MS]

WEDDING NIGHT (Ricky Gordon) –Successfully withstood a challenge for the lead from MY GIRL BLAZE (Jonah Hutchinson) in the early stages to lead the event.  

MY GIRL BLAZE (Jonah Hutchinson) Gate speed however, was unsuccessful in challenging for the lead in the early stages and as a result, raced outside the leader throughout.

BUN IN THE OVEN NZ (TR) (Zac Chappenden) - Out of position when the start was effected. Commenced a mid-race three-wide move from the rear of the field leaving the 1250metres, racing three-wide without cover for the remainder until weakening over the final 400metres of the event. Driver reprimanded failing to come up into position at start [AHR R162(1)(h)].

CROSSED LEGS (Mathew Neilson) –Commenced a trailing three-wide run late from the rear of the field leaving the 850metres.  

MANY DELIGHTS (Dexter McLean) –Caught-wide in the early stages before being restrained into a rearward trailing position.

General:

Zac Chappenden, driver of BUN IN THE OVEN NZ (TR) was reprimanded under AHR R162 (1) (h) for failing to come up into position by the start.  

Race 3 - GOLDBET BONUS BETS PACE     1850M  [MS]

COLETTE (Tom Ison) Broke gait shortly after the start was effected, losing considerable ground. Connections were advised COLETTE will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile starts until Stewards are satisfied the mare can perform in the desired manner.  

JANG PEL (Gary Litzow) –Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.

BUSTN FEELZ GOOD (Mathew Neilson) –Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event after racing outside the leader throughout.

BEYONSKI (Angus Garrard) –Checked after the start when COLETTE (Tom Ison) broke gait shortly after the start was effected. Shifted in and contacted a marker post on the home turn.  

ROCKINTHECITY (Ryan Veivers) – Commenced to yield ground from the 1100metres after racing at the rear of the field, ultimately being retired from the event by its driver in the back straight on the final occasion. An examination by the Veterinarian subsequent to the race found no abnormalities at time of examination. Connections were advised ROCKINTHECITY will be required to complete one(1) satisfactory requalifying trial prior to recommencing racing.   

General:

Angus Garrard, driver of BEYONSKI was fined the sum of $100 under AHR Rule 238 for failing to adhere to the direction of Stewards to apply mudguards and splashsheets to all sulkies.  

Race 4 – GOLDBET @ MARBURG PACE     1850M  [MS]

MISS PAU (Mathew Neilson) –Successfully withstood a challenge for the lead in the early stages to lead throughout.

BETTING BARON (Angus Garrard) –Gate speed however, raced three-wide in the early stages before working forward to initially obtain the position outside the leader before gaining one-out one-back cover from MEGA STAR (Chloe Butler) entering the front straight on the first occasion. Inconvenienced leaving the 500metres when trailing MEGA STAR (Chloe Butler) which commenced to weaken.  

MEGA STAR (Chloe Butler) Gate speed, racing four-wide initially after the start before working forward three-wide in the early stages to attain the position outside the leader entering the front straight on the first occasion. Overraced and pulled hard whilst racing in the position outside the leader before weakening over the final 500metres of the event.  

ROYAL PRINCESS (Leonard Cain) –Failed to obtain clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested to the line.

ALTANA BLUE (Ryan Veivers) –Commenced a three-wide run late with no cover from a rearward trailing position leaving the 750metres.  

ROYAL STUDLEIGH (Taleah McMullen) –Commenced a trailing three-wide run late from the rear of the field leaving the 750metres.

Race 5 – BARASTOC RACE N WIN PACE     1850M  [MS]

STUDLEIGH DARCEY (Taleah McMullen) Broke gait clear of interference on the first turn after the start. After considering a good record in this regard, connections were advised STUDLEIGH DARCEY would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

BAHAMAS MISS (Gary Litzow) –Severely checked by the galloping STUDLEIGH DARCEY (Taleah McMullen) on the first turn after the start and broke gait as a result. Trailed the field thereafter.

DOC HARVEY (Trent Moffat) –Successfully withstood a brief challenge for the lead from MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (Pete McMullen) in the front straight on the first occasion to lead the event.

THE CROM (Matt Crone) –Out of position when the start was effected. Hung-in and contacted a marker post on the home turn. Driver reprimanded failing to maintain position at start [AHR R162(1)(j)].

MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (Pete McMullen) Unsuccessful in briefly challenging for the lead in the front straight on the first occasion and as a result was obliged to race outside the leader for the remainder.

General:

Matt Crone, driver of THE CROM was reprimanded under AHR R162 (1) (j) for failing to maintain position behind the starting gate until the start.

Race 6 – GOLDBET ON THE APP STORE PACE     1850M  [MS]

FANCY LIKE BARBIE (Chloe Butler) –Failed to obtain clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested to the line.

SUBTLE CHAY (Angus Garrard) –Successfully withstood a challenge from MELTON INSULTED (Taleah McMullen) for the position outside the leader in the early stages to race outside the leader throughout.

MELTON INSULTED (Taleah McMullen) Gate speed however, was unsuccessful in challenging for the position outside the leader in the early stages before being restrained into a one-out one-back trailing position on the turn into the front straight on the first occasion. Commenced a three-wide run late with no cover from its one-out one-back trailing position leaving the 700metres.

CRIME TIME (Dannielle McMullen) –Failed to obtain clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested to the line.

HOIHO NZ (Jonah Hutchinson) – Broke gait as the start was effected, losing substantial ground. Connections were advised HOIHO NZ will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile starts until Stewards are satisfied the gelding can perform in the desired manner. Trailed the field thereafter.  

ONE LAST ROLL (Pete McMullen) –Commenced a trailing three-wide run late from a rearward trailing position leaving the 700metres.

TEACHERS PET (Leonard Cain) –Reinstated in the barrier draw for races conducted under mobile start conditions after satisfying QRIC requirements with completion of two(2) successful consecutive mobile starts. 

Race 7 – SANTA VERSUS GRINCH RACE DECEMBER 8TH PACE     1850M  [MS]

ROCKTIME (Lola Weidemann) –Successfully withstood a strong challenge for the lead from MISTER DELWIN (Layne Dwyer) in the early stages to lead the event.

MISTER DELWIN (Layne Dwyer) Gate speed however, was unsuccessful in strongly challenging for the lead in the early stages before being restrained into the position behind the leader.

LITTLEMICKEY (Nathan Dawson) –Showed gate speed however was caught-wide in the early stages and after failing to obtain a more forward position in the event, the colt was restrained into a midfield trailing position.

SPLASHNDASH (Taleah McMullen) – Showed gate speed however was caught-wide in the early stages and restrained to the rear of the field.       

SPORTING TRISTAR (Leonard Cain) –Paced roughly on the turn into the front straight on the first occasion.

BLING THE LUCK (Chloe Butler) – Raced three-wide in the early stages, working forward to attain the position outside the leader passing the winning post with two(2) laps remaining, where raced for the remainder.

ARTISTIC SAINT (Ryan Veivers) –An examination by the Veterinarian subsequent to the race found the gelding to have sustained a minor laceration to its near-side neck. Acting on the Veterinarians advice no stand down period was required.

Race 8 – VALE BILL HALL PACE     1850M  [MS]

SIR BOSTON (Layne Dwyer) –Commenced a three-wide run late with no cover from its one-out one-back trailing position leaving the 750metres.

ROCKNROLL MAX NZ (Ryan Veivers) –Hung-in turning out of the front straight on the final occasion before yielding ground over the concluding stages of the event.

General:

Ben Battle, trainer of FORGIVE ME was fined the sum of $100 under AHR Rule 238 for failing to adhere to the direction of Stewards to apply mudguards and splashsheets to all sulkies.
