General:

Lola Weidemann, driver of ROCKTIME was fined $200 under AHR Rule 168 (1) (a) for being careless in allowing ROCKTIME to race up onto the back of GETALOADATHISBRO (Pete McMullen) turning out of the back straight on the final occasion when trailing that runner, resulting in ROCKTIME contacting and puncturing the off-side sulky tyre of GETALOADATHISBRO. As a result, ROCKTIME paced roughly and lost ground resulting in multiple trailing runners being checked.

Stewards questioned Gary Whitaker, driver of CHEDDAR MADE BETA NZ into the driving tactics employed in the early stages of the event, in particular if there was an opportunity to hold a more forward position shortly after the start. Mr Whitaker put forward it was his first time driving CHEDDAR MADE BETA NZ and after viewing its previous race starts, in particular its most recent start at Marburg on 12 November 2024, which was first-up from a spell where it raced roughly shortly after the start, he was mindful going into today’s event. Mr Whitaker stated after drawing inside the back row draw, the gelding was inclined to momentarily pace roughly in the score-up and as the start was effected he was reluctant to try and push forward to hold a more forward position as he felt the gelding would gallop. He further stated that CHEDDAR MADE BETA NZ racing into the first turn was inclined to shift-in and momentarily pace roughly again, before balancing and progressing forward to fulfil a midfield marker line position. Stewards after consideration of all evidence tendered and reviewing the patrol vision, elected not to take the matter further and noted the explanation for future reference.

Race 6 - SUNSHINE STARS 2YO FINALS AT ALBION PARK THIS SATURDAY NOVEMBER 16 PACE     2200M  [MS]
