RACE 1 – THE TAB APP 2YO PACE – 1609 metres

OAK RIDGE– Hung out during the score up, shifted out abruptly and made heavy contact with HAVEUCHECKEDHIMOUT.  Subsequently a false start was declared.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the colt’s racing record.  Pulled hard during the middle stages.  Post-race swab sample.

MACEDES– Pre-race blood sample.  Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

DELDARCIA– Weakened noticeably inside the 500 metres and tailed the field.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again DELDARCIA must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

 

RACE 2 – MULTIQUIP POULTRY PACE – 1980 metres

SPOOKY ART– Pre-race blood sample.  

GROSSO NASO– Post-race swab sample.

SUSIEQ SHANNON– Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up, galloped and was out of position when the start was affected.  Connections were advised that the mare would be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.  Raced roughly throughout and weakened noticeably inside the 700 metres.  Trainer/driver Mr J Enks said that SUSIEQ SHANNON would be retired.  Notwithstanding this advice, Mr Enks was informed that a stand down period of 28 days would be applied and prior to racing again, SUSIEQ SHANNON must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.

 

RACE 3 – BREFEST @ SULLY PARK 23 NOV PACE 1609 metres

DARK SIDE NZ– Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Shifted wider by its driver at the entrance to the back straight, then when allowed to shift in approaching the 300 metres crowded LADY PEBBLES which had to be eased momentarily. Subsequently driver L Johnston was reprimanded under AR 168(1)(a).  Weakened noticeably inside the 300 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

JUST TOMMY– Held up for some distance approaching and rounding the home turn.

REMEMBER BUBBLES– Post-race swab sample.

HOT EMBERS– Pre-race blood sample.  Galloped away at the start and had to be restrained for some distance.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.  

LADY PEBBLES– After being hampered near the 300 metres raced in restricted room rounding the home turn and had to be shifted in at the entrance to the home straight in an effort to obtain clear running.

 

RACE 4 – THE PUB – DRIVE OF THE DAY PACE – 1609 metres

UNCLE GREGORY– Post-race swab sample.

TASMANS DELIGHT– Pre-race blood sample.

MY TWO EVES– When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted and the overall performance, driver B Elder explained that after being caught wide in the early stages he elected to go forward due to the moderate tempo.  He said that when he raced outside Hey Dude he felt that he would obtain the lead easily, however when that runner maintained its tempo, he could not muster sufficient speed to cross and was obliged to race without cover. He said that contributed to the gelding weakening inside the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

STILTON– Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Had to be checked and raced roughly for a short distance near the 900 metres when racing behind ZACHAROONI.

FUNNILY ENOUGH– Broke stride free of any external factors approaching the 900 metres and galloped for a short distance.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

ZACHAROONI– Had to be checked and broke stride near the 900m when attempting to avoid FUNNILY ENOUGH. Ran onto the back of MIDAS SHANNON which was weakening approaching the 400 metres, had to be steadied and shifted out abruptly. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

 

RACE 5 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres

SLINGSHOT– Post-race swab sample.

TERROR FLYING– Pre-race blood sample.  

BARRYS BROTHER– Broke stride free of any external factors shortly after the start and galloped.  Shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its driver and made contact with IN CHEVRON WE TRUST NZ.  Trainer/driver Mr A Varga was advised that BARRYS BROTHER would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw and prior to racing again must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.

MONTANA NIGHTS– Hampered rounding the turn after the start and had to be eased when crowded by TERROR FLYING, which shifted in marginally when not quite clear.  Subsequently J Turnbull the driver of TERROR FLYING was asked to exercise more care in future.

IN CHEVRON WE TRUST NZ– Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Became unbalanced for a short distance shortly after the start after sustaining contact from BARRYS BROTHER.

ZOEMAGIC– Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Had to be checked severely, shifted in abruptly and broke stride shortly after the start when racing tight on the inside of IN CHEVRON WE TRUST NZ.  Connections were advised that following required satisfactory performance the mare would now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 6 – STOCKMANS – FARRIER SUPPLIES PACE – 1609 metres

KATASTROPHEE– Post-race swab sample.

MAJOR GENERALJUJON– Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Had to be checked and shifted out abruptly approaching the 400 metres when racing behind FLIRTS DIVA.

FLIRTS DIVA– Had to be checked severely, became unbalanced, blundered and broke stride approaching the 400 metres when racing tight on the inside of ANTETOKOUNMPO, when the mare’s hind leg extended outside the confines of the sulky and made contact with the inside wheel of ANTETOKOUNMPO.  Weakened noticeably from that point.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  

JOHNNY DEE– Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up and cantered for a short distance.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

ANTETOKOUNMPO– Pre-race blood sample.  

 

RACE 7 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1980 metres

NIGHTWATCH STAR– Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Post-race swab sample.

LISASPANGLEDSTAR– Hung out for some distance after the start and was difficult to drive then hung in rounding the turn after the start and broke stride.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

SMOLENSKI– Pre-race blood sample.  

QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ– Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 8 – PORTABLE HORSE STABLES PACE – 1980 metres

ADRENALINE RUSH– Had to be checked and shifted wider rounding the home turn when racing behind TISBURY ROCKS NZ.

TISBURY ROCKS NZ– Broke stride free of any external factors rounding the home turn and galloped.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

RAINBOW JET– Post-race swab sample.

LIMOUSINE CHEEKY– Hampered and had to be shifted wider rounding the home turn when racing outside ADRENALINE RUSH.

OUTLOOK– Slow to begin.

SAINT KARAMARA– Post-race swab sample.

CATCHINGCONFIDENCE– Pre-race blood sample.  When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted driver B Hughes explained that due to the moderate tempo he elected to shift wider and improve passing the 1000m, however he was unable to muster sufficient speed to cross RAINBOW JET and was obliged to race without cover. He said that whilst his drive responded well from the 400m it was disadvantaged by its wide run. Forced wider rounding the home turn when racing outside LIMOUSINE CHEEKY.

 

RACE 9 – CARPET ONE FLOOR & HOME TAMWORTH PACE – 180 metres

CARMELITE NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  When questioned in relation to the performance driver J Coney explained, that when racing in the lead in the early stages CARMELITE NZ was subject to considerable pressure to maintain that position from PARATROUPER.  She said that after PARATROUPER finally crossed near the 1200 metres CARMELITE NZ travelled relatively well for a short distance, however when placed under pressure passing the winning post with a lap remaining the mare became unresponsive and weakened from that point.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again, CARMELITE NZ must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

UNSULLY– Had to be checked for some distance inside the 700 metres when racing behind CARMELITE NZ when that runner weakened. 

FOREVER A DANCER NZ– Hung in and contacted marker pegs entering the home straight on the first occasion.  Unresponsive inside the 800 metres and finished distanced.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again FOREVER A DANCER NZ must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

SUPERBON– Post-race swab sample.

RUNFROMTERROR– Ran on to the back of CARMELITE NZ when the start was affected and had to be steadied.  When questioned in relation to the performance driver G Young explained that the horse failed to travel at any stage and was unresponsive to her urgings inside the 800 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again RUNFROMTERROR must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

COLBY NZ– When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted and overall performance driver J Coney explained that he was unsuited by the tempo in the early stages and because of this he elected to shift wider passing the winning post on the first occasion. He said that after establishing the position outside the lead COLBY travelled relatively well, however PARATROUPER went forward inside the 600m he attempted to improve with it, but the gelding was unresponsive and could not go forward despite his urgings from that point. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
