STEWARDS REPORT FOR STAWELL

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 – THOMAS FOODS MAIDEN TROT (2180 MS)

TARA TUFF – Hung in making the turn into the home straight and contacted marker pegs.

CHILLHUNNYBUNNY – Tired, beaten 83m and a warning issued.

TRICKY DIAMOND – Began badly and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

SUPREME DOLL – Broke gait under pressure near the 200m.

SALUTE TO SUNNY – Broke gait after the start and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

KYVALLEY JOYRIDE NZ – Out of position after hanging in the score up and a warning issued. Hung out in running, tired beaten 99m. When questioned regarding the run Driver Chris Alford stated that the gelding never travelled well and disappointed. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed no significant abnormalities. The gelding was issued a warning in regard to its performance.

DOOR SLAMMER - Broke gait after the start and will now continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

RACE 2 –GIFT HALL OF FAME MUSEUM TROT (2180 MS)

GENERAL – Prior to All Clear, Stewards reviewed the video footage. It was ascertained that shortly before entering the home straight AUSSIE MUSCLE hung inwards and raced inside a few marker pegs, Stewards were of the opinion that’s its Driver attempted to correct the horse outwards and was not driving it along during this point and had not gained a significant advantage. As such the Stewards did not invoke AHRR  66 (e) or AHRR 163 (5). Stewards also reviewed the video footage regarding MAXIMEZ breaking gait in the concluding stages and galloping across the finishing line. As Stewards determined it was not covered by another runner Stewards did not invoke VLR 155A. All Clear was subsequently declared.

ALLAWART BOB– Inconvenienced in the back straight.

ATABOY CHARLIE- Inconvenienced in the back straight.

DAISY BOUCHEA– Raced roughly and broke gait in the backstraight near the 600m.

MAXIMEZ– Broke gait on the first turn near the 1900m. Broke gait under pressure in the home straight.

RASTAMON– Raced wide in the early stages.

AUSSIE MUSCLE– As the gelding had not raced for over 12 months it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities. Raced three wide in the early stages. Hung in and contacted marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

 

RACE 3 – NGSC THE MOARI LEGEND (2180 MS)

KING OF KVINTET – Hung out making the first turn.

PRO HIBITION– Out of position in the score up and placed on its last chance in the draw. Tired, beaten 86m, no action taken.

NIPOTINA – Began badly and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Trainer Peter Manning was cautioned for not providing the tactics of his multiple runners in this race.

CARLA PIXIE NZ– Began badly and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

FRIKSHYN- Tired, beaten 91m, no action taken.

MYSTERY FRED– Broke under pressure making the turn into the home straight.

 

RACE 4 – PETSTOCK STAWELL MAIDEN PACE (2180 MS)

STARTIN TO GOGH – Broke gait after the start and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Raced three wide in the middle stages. Hung in and contacted marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

HAPPENSTBABEACHBOY– Scratched on vets advice at 2.55pm. The gelding will now be stood down for a period of 28 days.

SKADI– Hung out near the 500m and contacted a sulky.

HELLOVATIME- Raced roughly in the score up. Inconvenienced shortly after the start.

SPORTSBOU- As the filly had not raced for over 12 months it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities. Hung inwards and contacted a sulky near the 500m.

SWEET MAJOR– Broke gait in the score up and will continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Pulled hard in running.

RACE 5 – WIMMERA MALLEE VETS STAWELL TROTTERS CUP (2600 SS)

GENERAL – The start of this race was delayed when medical staff had to treat a patron for a medical condition.

BENNIE AND THE JETS NZ – Inconvenienced after the start. Broke gait twice in running and placed on its last chance to race tractably.

SONARMI JOH– Began badly and will now be placed outside the draw at future standing starts. Hung in and contacted marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

SUGA DADDY– Inconvenienced after the start.

ROBBINMEMATES- Broke gait twice in running and placed on its last chance to race tractably.

WISH UPONA DREAM – Hung in and contacted marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

LOVE YA BROTHER- Inconvenienced after the start.

MISSUCCI NZ– Stood flat footed and swung out sideways losing considerable ground. The mare will now be placed outside the draw at future standing starts.

BLUE COMAN NZ– Broke gait approaching the first turn.

RACE 6 – SHELTON AND LANE PACE (1785 MS)

TINSEL TIARA – Pulled hard in running.

REDBANK MOLLY – Held up making the turn into the home straight.

FOREGONE CONCLUSION NZ – Raced three wide in the middle stages.

MONSIEUR FLAMEL – Pulled hard in running.

DOCTOR GO JOH – Broke gait after the start and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

RACE 7 – ECYCLE SOLUTIONS STAWELL PACING CUP FINAL (2600 MS)

RUDY GEE – Tired, beaten 216m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. When questioned Driver/Trainer Michael Stanley stated that whilst RUDY GEE did some work when challenging for the lead in the middle stages. However, this could not be attributed to the fact that the gelding commenced to tire and give ground before the bell and had been disappointing. He also stated that the gelding had previously disappointed when it raced at Melton 2 starts ago on 2 August 2024, on that occasion the gelding had undergone an endoscopic scope which indicated a mildly prolapsed soft palate. He advised he would have the gelding fully vetted, and Stewards would follow up in the coming days. RUDY GEE will be stood down pending a satisfactory trial before being permitted to race again.

VALIENTE – Raced wide in the early stages.

RACE 8 – CHRIS N DI’S BAKERY PACE (2180 MS)

RAZS VEYRON – Raced roughly and broke gait making the turn into the home straight.

 

THE SPORTZ STAR – Pulled hard in running.

 

THE NAKED ART – Raced three wide and pulled hard in the early stages.

 

DARE TO DO– Broke gait on the first turn and placed on its last chance to race tractably,

 

ELATED NZ– Broke gait near the 600m.

 

SWISS LIGHTNING– Inconvenienced near the 600m. Held up in the home straight and had difficulty obtaining clear running.
