Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 – NEATLINE HOMES PACE (1690 MS)

OZZIE JOYBELL – Out of position after breaking in the score up. The mare will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

HONEST HARRIETTE- Held up making the turn into the home straight.

ART OF FIRE NZ- Held up and contacted marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

COUNTRY ROCKSTAR– Pulled hard in running.

ROYAL STARZZZ– Inconvenienced in the back straight.

CHOGI NZ– Checked in the score up.

REGAL ROCK NZ– Driver Glenn Bull was cautioned for shifting ground in the back straight.

 

 

 

 

RACE 2 –ALABAR PACE (2190 MS)

NORTHERN TERROR - Held up making the turn into the home straight.

JOEYS HANGOVER - In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200 starts+) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities.

MURIEL- Held up making the turn into the home straight.

JERSEY SAM– Pulled hard in running and gave ground in the final lap.

TEX GOES BANG– Hung out near the 1800m.

MISTER REBEL- In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200 starts+) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities.

 

RACE 3 – YOUR SOLD REAL ESTATE PACE (1690 MS)

BETTORSWEETVICTORY – Raced wide in the early stages.

JAPANESE MIKI - Inconvenienced in the back straight.

STREETS OF MADRID - Held up making the turn into the home straight and again held up over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the run Driver Damian Wilson stated that approaching the home straight, he was following SHAWAMI LASS NZ. As he entered the home straight, he angled to take a run to the outside of SHAWAMI LASS NZ, he the improved to the outside of that mare and shortly after SHAWAMI LASS NZ commenced to shift out under pressure and carry STREETS OF MADRID outwards. As STREETS OF MADRID was outside of the wheel to the runner on his inside and the proximity to the winning post Driver Wilson was not able to restrain and attempted to go to the inside of SHAWAMI LASS NZ. He was then held up for running in the concluding stages.

SHAWAMI LASS NZ – Trainer Brad Stevens was cautioned for the late driving change. Held up making the turn into the home straight. Driver Ashley Manton was cautioned for shifting ground in the back straight.

 

 

 

 

 

RACE 4 – COTTERELLS ELECTRICAL (1690 MS)

DOT BALL - Held up making the turn into the home straight.

THE MAJORS GIRL– Driver Nathan Jack was cautioned for half carting in the back straight.

VICTORTHEINFLICTOR- Driver Stacey Towers was cautioned for half carting in the back straight.

APIECEOFLOU NZ– When questioned Driver Sean O’Sullivan stated after racing in a rearward position that racing into the back straight for the final time there were several runners in front of him that were in various stagged positions which would have meant he would have had to go extremely wide to improve and such he elected to try and improve from the 400m. The gelding ran home fairly when placed under pressure.

MAYWYNS JEWEL- Driver Ashley Manton was cautioned for half carting in the back straight. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer Ashley Manton stated its was only his second start with the mare and at its previous start it had broken gait after the start and trailed the field. In addition, he stated that the mare had put on condition since being at his stable and made gear changes in changing its hobble length and adding a head check, he felt that these may have assisted in improving the mare’s performance tonight.

 

RACE 5 – HUNTERS RURAL (2190 MS)

HOORAH PHILTRA - Out of position after breaking in the score up. The gelding will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Held up over the concluding stages.

SASSINESS– Raced three wide in the middle stages.

 

RACE 6 – JDC CONTRACTORS TROT (1690 MS)

MISS FRANCENE – Raced three wide in the early stages.

WATCH AND ACT – Raced three wide in the middle stages.

PARTYTIME– Broke gait in the score up and will continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

 

 

RACE 7 – CENTRAL TYRE SERVICES TROT (2190 SS)

IVAR – Driver Abby Sanderson was cautioned for contacting marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

ABBIE– Raced wide in the early stages and inconvenienced in the back straight in the final lap.

STARLIGHT RED– Pulled hard in running.

THE VICARS GIRL– Broke gait in the back straight and a warning issued.

DOSSIER– Out of position and placed on its last chance in the draw. Broke gait in the back straight.

RACE 8 – ELITE HORSE TRANSPORTS 3YO 0-2 LTW PACE (1690 SS)

MIKI MARK – Pulled hard in running and held up making the turn into the home straight.

SOPHIES SCOOTER- Held up making the turn into the home straight.

 

RACE 9 – SADDLEWORLD SHEPPARTON 3YO & OLDER MAIDEN PACE (1690 SS)

THE AFRICAN QUEEN– Inconvenienced and out of position in the score up.

BROADWAY BRENDA– Out of position after hanging inwards in the score up. Raced roughly after the start and a was placed on its last chance in the draw.

CRAZY ON THE BEACH – Pulled hard in running.

VINCENT GRANGE– Raced three wide in the early stages.
