Due to high lightning activity the start of Race 8. was delayed 21 minutes and re- scheduled to start at 6.30 p.m.         

Race 1 - DOOLITTLE LODGE MAIDEN PACE   1780M

THREEOEIGHT which was back from its allotted position is placed on last chance draw.

ROCKCANDY had a tendency to hang in during various stages on the turns.

KEAYANG LACEY driver fined unapproved whip use.

BERNICES LOVE broke gait on the turn into the side straight in the first lap and will be required to trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before racing again.

GIRL THE GIRL checked and lost ground when Bernices Love broke gate on the turn into the side straight in the first lap.  

General:          Driver Noel Parrish (Keayang Lacey) was fined $400 for using the whip in an unapproved manner in the front straight in the run to the finish. Stewards deemed the whip was used in other than a flicking motion. It was noted that this was Mr. Parrish’s second offence within a fifty- six (56) day period. (AHRR 156(2)a).     

Race 2 – COMFORT INN & SUITES NORTHGATE PACE          1780M

LARA BAY caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field at approximately 1500 metres.

EXPLANATION NOTED raced wide in the back straight in the first lap to lead the one (1) wide line in the side straight in the first lap.

General:     Stewards enquired into the reason that Explanation Noted (Brendan Barnes) raced wide in the back straight in the first lap of the event. After taking evidence from drivers Brendan Barnes (Explanation Noted) and Rod Wingrave (Shemozzle) it was established that Shemozzle was slow responding to the rein and as a consequence Knight Jujon (Jack Chapple) raced to the inside of this runner. Explanation Noted raced wider on the track at that point and worked forward to lead the one (1) wide line at approximately 1350 metres. A warning was placed against Shemozzle.

Race 3 - DAN COSTELLO PHOTOGRAPHY PACE       1780M

MARKSMAN will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile events. The gelding broke in the score up resulting in a false start as Get Me Outta Here which was trailing was checked. Marksman again broke gait in the score up on the second occasion and missed the start badly.

SOMEONES WATCHING gave ground from 400 metres. Driver Layne Dwyer advised that he had difficulties with the hopple shortener pins from the 400 metres. He was advised to take the necessary measures to avoid a repetition. Driver fined starting out of position.

DIGBY DEMON held up at a vital stage in the side straight when Someones Watching was yielding ground.  Held up in the early stages of the front straight in the run to the finish.

COULD IT BE ME caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field

THE CASUAL GOOSE caught wide in the early stages before progressing to lead the one (1) wide line from approximately 1200 metres.

TORQUE WRITERbroke gait losing all competitive chance on the turn into the back straight in the first lap. A post-race veterinary examination was conducted on the mare which revealed that Torque Writer finished the race with the Thumps and will be required to trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before racing again.

MISTER HART worked forward to lead the one (1) wide line in the early stages before obtaining cover at approximately 1200 metres.

General:          Driver Layne Dwyer (Someones Watching) was fined $100 for failing to maintain the correctly allotted position of two (2) on the front line prior to the start. (AHRR 162(1)g).

Race 4 - WOLF SIGNS PACE   1780M

NAUTIE GALVINATOR pulled hard in the score up and in the run. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 77.7 metres. A last chance to race competitively was placed on the gelding.

IMTHECANDYMAN hung in and contacted marker pegs on multiple occasions during the event. A warning was issued.

ROCK IT BABY raced wide in the back straight in the first lap before attaining a position leading the one (1) wide line at approximately 1200 metres.  

General:          Stewards questioned driver Shane Graham (Shevchenko) regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of Shevchenko (1.20 fav.) after leading the one (1) wide line in the early stages and worked to the front on the turn out of the back straight in the first lap. Mr. Graham said the performance of the horse was satisfactory today compared to its past performances and that in his opinion was a false favourite. Stewards spoke to connections regarding the performance, and they were satisfied with the run taking into account recent form. Stewards noted the explanation.

Race 5 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE           2040M

OCTOBER RACKETEER tendered to over-race in the middle stages of the event.

MISTER DOMINGO led the one (1) wide line in the early stages of the event before receiving cover with approximately 1600 metres remaining.  

TRALEE MAXIE raced wide during the middle stages to lead the one (1) wide line from the 1600 metres approximately.     

Race 6 - LADBROKES SAME RACE MULTI PACE       1780M

HAZZA IS WATCHING broke in the early stages of the score up before fulfilling its correctly allotted position.

MODERN SHEEN caught wide in the early stages before working forward to leading the one (1) wide line from the 1400 metres approximately.

Race 7 – BURWOOD STUD UP TO NR70 PACE (SKY 2)          2280M

WINDY HILL WALLY shifted out on the turn into the front straight in the run to the finish. A warning was issued. 

GLENLEDI BOY NZ raced roughly after the start when being restrained to a position.

IM DESIRABLE over-raced leading the one (1) wide line\throughout.

DRIVE TO THE BEACH held up for a clear run in the run to the finish and not fully tested.      

Race 8 - PELICAN WATERS RESORT PACE (SKY 2)   1780M

DOOLITTLE DEXTER broke in the early stages of the score up. 

ACE LOMBO back slightly from position as the start was affected. 

PUNTERS JEWEL gate speed to lead one (1) wide line. Pulled hard throughout the event.

Swabs samples taken for analysis.
