Race 1 - STU VALENTINE FOR BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE PACE 1780M
BRIAN CHRISTOPHER NZ – caught wide early before working forward to gain the position outside the leader.
ARNOLD STREET – inclined to hang in under pressure on the final turn when momentarily held up for clear running.
Race 2 – LADBROKES EASY FORM PACE 2040M
DONT FEAR FOR ME – raced roughly momentarily when moved from the position behind the leader to then take up the lead in the front straight on the first occasion.
HAWKE EYE – back in the mobile draw after two successful consecutive starts.
General
Dale Larpent was fined $200 under AHR rule 156(2)(a) for engaging the elbow and shoulder when using the whip in the concluding stages.
Race 3 - PERFECTLY PULSE THERAPY PACE 1780M
FORGIVE ME – failed to run on in the concluding stages after racing behind the leader and finished in last position beaten in excess of 27 metres. When questioned, trainer Ben Battle advised the mare had not raced for 3 weeks and the early sectional of 28 seconds in an attempt to hold the lead may have been a contributing factor to the disappointing effort.
MIGHTY GEORGE NZ – held up for clear running on the final turn when trailing the tiring Forgive Me.
JACCKA COOPER NZ – inclined to race roughly at various stages of the race. Failed to gain clear running in the concluding stages and was not fully tested.
Race 4 - GARRARDS HERE ON TRACK PACE 1780M
SALS LAST BLAST – caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to a rearward trailing position.
GOODTIME CRACKER – inclined to hang in when racing outside the leader.
MISSDEHEIR – help up for clear running rounding the final turn.
Race 5 – STEVIE REDBACK PEST CONTROL PACE 2040M
MONTEREY JACK NZ – caught wide in the early stages before working forward to gain the position outside the leader.
SNIP OF BEAUTY – pulled hard at various stages of the race.
Race 6 - WOLF SIGNS MAIDEN PACE 1780M
TAKE COURAGE – hung in under pressure at the 300 metres and contacted 2 marker pegs.
FUNTIMES – caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.
CHARMAWAY – worked forward to race outside the leader. Commenced to yield ground from the 500 metres to finish in 8th position beaten in excess of 66 metres. Trainer Trent Dawson advised he will continue to make gear changes to enable the filly to race more truly.
ALLSHECANBE – out of position at the start despite the effort from its driver. Gave ground over the concluding stages to finish a distant last beaten in excess of 91 metres. Stewards advised trainer Brian McCall the filly will be required to complete a satisfactory trial before racing again.
THE SQUARE DANCER – hung out during the score up and was inclined to hang in throughout the race.
Race 7 – DARREN EBERT & CO 0 TO 3 WINS PACE 1780M
SHOOBEE RIGHT – gave ground to finish a distant last beaten in excess of 82 metres. Connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race competitively.
Race 8 - MAZDA ASPLEY PACE 1780M
CRIME BOSS – hung in at the 500 metres when the driver was attempting to move the gelding out of the one out one back position to commence a forward run. Continued to hang in at the 300 metres and contacted the off side sulky wheel of Sammy Secret resulting in Crime Boss racing roughly. A warning was issued and connections were advised to take corrective measures.
