Race 1 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE 1780M

Franco Macho NZ gate speed and withstood challenge from Playa Blanca before surrendeing the lead to Glenlea Belle.

Playa Blanca gate speed early then unsuccesful challenge to lead. Led the one (1) wide line throughout. Had a tendency to overrace in the early and middle stages of the event.

Glenlea Hanover gate speed and caught wide in the early stages before working forward to lead at 1350 metres approximately.

San Marea caught wide early before restraining to the rear of the field at approximately 1350 metres.

Johnson Step NZtended to hang in in the later stages of score up.

Steam Cleaned hung out at the start.

Littlelioneljames tended to over race during the middle stages of the event.

Full Brother failed to enter pre-race circle.

Race 2 – LADBROKES RACING CLUB PACE  1780M

Forgive Me gate speed and withstood challenge for lead.

Mach Brilliance gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 66.9 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. A last chance to race competitively was placed on the mare.

Daniel Boom gate speed and unsuccessful challenge for lead before obtaining cover in the back straight on the first occasion.

Angelic She Aint gate speed and caught wide early before working forward to lead the one (1) wide line at approximately 1350 metres. Had a tendency to over race when leading the one`(1) wide line. Gave ground significantly over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 78 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. A last chance to race competitively was placed on the mare.

Ashlee Nitro restrained after the start to the rear of the field at the start.

Rock With Nate a warning was issued to the connections for hanging in over the marker pegs on the turn out of the front straight after the start.

Press Statement three (3) wide from the 800 metres before gaining cover the back straight in the final lap when Daniel Boom eased wider on the track.

Beef City Blaze checked in the side straight in the final lap when Mach Brilliance gave ground quickly.

Race 3 - HUSTLER RAPTOR PACE      2040M

Wandary Delightgave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 37.7 metres.

Jilliby Pandagate speed to lead the one wide line early before over racing when allowing Diego Delado to progress to lead the one (1) wide line. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 49 metres.

Diego Delgadoraced wide in the early stages before progressing to lead the one wide line at approximately 1350 metres. 

Race 4 - STEVIE REDBACK PEST CONTROL PACE    1780M

Lord Denzel led one (1) wide line gaining cover when Call Me Trish raced wide to lead the one (1) wide line in the side straight in the first lap. 

Happy Snap caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field. 

Westray hung out turning into the front straight in the final lap and engaged sulkies with Call Me Trish (Brendan Barnes). A warning was placed against Westray. Re-included mobile draw after two consecutive successful starts.

Race 5 – WOLF SIGNS PACE   1780M

Three Chord Riff received a near side flat tyre entering the side straight in the final lap which may of placed the mare at a disadvantage. 

Mach Torquegate speed and caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field.

Royal Winkle four wide early before progressing o lead the one (1) wide line in the side straight in the first lap.

Aqua Cruiser not fully tested in the front straight in the run to the finish.

Tommy Bligh led the three wide line up from approximately 800 metres. 

General:          Driver Damon Watson (Guy Looks Good) was fined $200 for using the whip in an unapproved manner entering the front straight in the run to the finish. (AHR 156(2)a).

                        Driver Chloe Butler (Highly Respected) was fined $100 for being careless at approximately 500 metres for allowing Highly Respected to contact and puncture the near side tyre of sulky of Three Chord Riff which may of placed that mare at some disadvantage over the concluding stages (AHRR 168(1)a)

Race 6 - PELICAN WATERS RESORT PACE    1780M

Torque To The Max passed fit to start after a pre-race veterinary examination. 

Saint Louis Beat restrained at the start to the rear of the field. Commenced a three (3) wide run at the bell before Doolittle Days eased out resulting in Saint Louis Beat being three (3) wide with cover.

Doolittle Days led the three wide line from the 600 metres.

General:          Permission was granted for trainer Ricky Gordon (Chakana) to change gear from pacifiers to a fly veil. 

Race 7 – MAZDA ASPLEY PACE         1780M

Sporty Azz held up in the side straight and home turn in the final lap before running on resolutely in the run to the finish.

My Ultimate Heston restrained at the start to the rear of the field. Three (3) wide with cover from approximately 900 metres.

Jet Force caught wide early before progressing to lead the one (1) wide line from approximately 1300 metres.

Major Mischief held up for a clear run until the front straight in the run to the finish before running on resolutely to the finish.

Could It Be Me led the three (3) wide line up from the 900 metres approximately before crossing to the lead with approximately 500 metres remaining.

Trouper Jujon three (3) wide with cover from approximately 900 metres.

Race 8 - DARREN EBERT & CO PACE 1780M

Subtle Chay led the one (1) wide line early before receiving cover in the side straight in the first lap.

Goodtime Cracker raced wide early to lead the one wide line in the side straight in the first lap.

Captain Oh Captain over raced in the middle stages of the event. Hung out and broke on the turn into the front straight for the run to the finish. A last chance to race truly was placed on the gelding.

Race 9 - BURWOOD STUD PACE        1780M

Left To Rocknroll gave ground over the concluding stages of the event to be beaten in excess of 58 metres.The mare was placed on its last chance to race competitively.

Melodys Mischief NZ which pulled hard in the early and middle stages gave ground considerably over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 270 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare bled from both nostrils. In accordance with AHRR 101(3) & AHRR 101(4) a & b the mare was stood down from racing for three (3) months, veterinary certificate and one (1) trial before racing again.

Three Machs shifted in and contacted marker pegs prior to the home turn. A warning was placed against the mare.

Race 10 - HYGAIN FEEDS PACE          1780M

Floorless sustained a near side puncture to the sulky on the apex of the corner out of the back straight in the final lap placing the mare at a disadvantage.

Bahamas Miss hung out on the apex out of the back straight in the final lap contacting and puncturing the near side sulky wheel of Floorless. 

General:          Stewards inquired into the reason that Floorless (A. Smith) sustained a near side puncture approaching the turn out of the back staright in the final lap.  After taking evidence from driver Zac Chappenden and acting on the stewards’ own observations stewards were of the opinion that Bahamas Miss (Zac Chappenden) hung out and contacted the near side wheel on the turn out of the back straight. Whilst considering Bahamas Miss hung out driver Zac Chappenden was given the benefit as to a degree of carelessness which may of contributed to this incident.
