Stewards noted the intended tactics from trainers with multiple runners in the one race
Race 1 - TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY PACE 1780M
Korloff Noir Nz (Pete McMullen)– Hung in and contacted marker posts near the 1600 m and again near the 1400 m.
Charlie Chuckles (Angus Garrard)- Raced wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader. Hung in when under pressure leaving the 300 m.
Favreau (Leonard Cain)– Pulled hard during the score up.
Motu Cullen Nz (Jonah Hutchinson)– Fractious leaving the pre-race circle. Hung in during the event. A warning was issued.
Race 2 - STU VALENTINE FOR BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE PACE 2040M
Eternal Gold (Riley Butt)– Held up for a clear run to the finish.
Bettor Romance (Brendan Barnes)– Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.
Charm Offensive Nz (Lachie Manzelmann)– Driver fined unapproved whip use. (R.156(3)).
Misstrepo (Pete McMullen)– Overraced and pulled hard during the event.
General: Lachie Manzelmann (Charm Offensive) was fined $400 for using his whip in an approved manner by applying the whip continuously over the final 200 m of the event. (R.156(3)). In determining penalty Stewards were mindful of a previous breach within the 56 day period
Race 3 - NORTHGATE COMFORT INN PACE 2040M
Handsome Harry Nz (Lachie Manzelmann)– Shifted in and contacted a marker post after the start.
Wonderwoman Jujon (Mathew Neilson)– Jibbed leaving the pre-race circle resulting in the filly taking no competitive part in the race. Wonderwoman Jujon will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile events until Stewards are satisfied it can perform in the desired manner.
Delightful Rainbow (Nathan Dawson) – Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.
Bettor Rocknroll (Pete McMullen)– Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.
Bukthsystem (Leonard Cain) – Raced wide in the middle stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.
Race 4 - HUSTLER RAPTOR PACE 2040M
Bee Gees Best (John Kerr) – Raced roughly during the event before giving ground over the final 600 m.
Lara Bay (Melissa Kendall)– Shifted in and contacted a marker post near the 200 m
Cheddar Made Beta Nz (Lachie Manzelmann)– Driver fined for failing to adhere to the required time standard when leading. (R.162(1)(y)).
Underthekilt (Nathan Dawson)– Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages.
General: Lachie Manzelmann (Cheddar Made Beta NZ) was fined $100 for failing to comply with the required time standard when leading. It was noted the first half of the last mile was run in 65.3 seconds. (R.162(1)(y)).
Race 5 - ELDERS WOODFORD PACE 1780M
Whata Reactor (Leonard Cain) – Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. The mare will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile events until Stewards are satisfied it can perform in the desired manner.
Bertils Firefox (John Kerr)– Locked sulky stays with Baby Ginnie for a short distance near the 100 m
Baby Ginnie (Trent Hodges)- Locked sulky stays with Bertils Firefox for a short distance near the 100m.
Race 6 - HYGAIN FEEDS MAIDEN PACE 1780M
Furiosa (Matt Crone)– Shifted in and contacted a marker post near the 600 m.
Outer Change (Leonard Cain)– Was caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.
Tori Be (Bradley Forge)– Gave ground from the 600 m. Shifted in and contacted marker posts near the 200 m
Race 7 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE 1780M
Remember Eve (Chloe Butler) ($1.30 fav)– Led the race before giving ground over the final 200 m finishing in last position. An examination by the veterinarian subsequent to the race found the mare to be suffering from the thumps. Remember Eve will be stood down pending a satisfactory barrier trial.
Jet Force (Leonard Cain)– Shifted in and contacted a marker post near the 1500 m. Contacted another marker post when racing in restricted room near the 400 m.
Race 8 - MEMBERS DRAW WINNER DYLAN LADD PACE 1780M
Soulwriter (Pete McMullen)– Hung in and raced roughly when racing wide on the first turn.
Vermont (Brendan Barnes)– Shifted in and contacted a marker post near the 1600 m. Driver fined unapproved whip use. (R.156(3)).
General: Brendan Barnes (Vermont) was fined $400 for using his whip in an approved manner by applying the whip continuously over the final 200 m of the event. (R.156(3)). In determining penalty Stewards were mindful of a previous breach within the 56 day period
Race 9 - DRIVER OF THE NIGHT MATHEW NEILSON MAIDEN PACE 1780M
Ghost Train (Zac Chappenden)– The near-side sulky tyre punctured leaving the 300 m. Shifted in and contacted a marker post near the 200 m.
Akermanis (Leonard Cain)– Raced ungenerously during the event. Hung in and contacted marker posts leaving the 600 m.
The Real Vanessa (Peter Greig)– Severely checked at the 500 m when Millie Francis NZ broke gait.
Heavenly Sea (Mathew Neilson) – The near-side sulky tyre punctured at the stat resulting in the filly being retired from the event at the 1300 m.
Millie Francis Nz (Will Rixon)– Broke gait near the 500 m. The filly will be placed on its last chance to race truly
Moon Over Montana (Pete McMullen)– Gave ground badly over the final 500 m finishing 122 metres from the winner. An examination by the veterinarian subsequent to the race found no abnormalities at time of examination. Stewards deemed the gelding’s performance as unsatisfactory and stood it down pending a satisfactory trial. The trainer indicated he would be sending the gelding for a spell.
The Weapon (Riley Butt)– Raced wider over the final 1000 m.
Race 10 - BURWOOD STUD 2YO MAIDEN PACE 1780M
General: A false start was declared after Heza Galvinator was checked in the score up when Hollywoodbound broke gait.
Hollywoodbound (Nathan Dawson)– Galloped in the score causing a false start. The filly will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile events until Stewards are satisfied it can perform in the desired manner.
Yogi (Mathew Neilson)– Raced roughly for a short distance at the start.
