Race 1 - NR46-50 RON MCCALL MEMORIAL SERIES HEAT 1 1780M
Diego Delgado commenced a three wide from midfield near the 700 metres.
The Grogmother mounted an unsuccessful early challenge for the lead then gained a one out one back trail near the 1350 metres.
Sii Sempre Tilly had difficulty gaining a clear run to the finish – not fully tested.
Mynamesevan worked forward here wide to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1350 metres.
Gina Del Ray was three wide with a trail from the 750 metres.
Bella Bronski utilised the sprint lane to finish fourth.
Race 2 – STU VALENTINE FOR BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE PACE 2040M
The all clear for the race was delayed in order for the Stewards to review the videos of the start regarding Mach Quillan NZ (5) and Reds Star Deal (6) which both broke stride in the latter stages of the score up. Having reviewed the videos all horses were determined to have had a fair start. Further, Matt Elkins, driver of third past the post Rock Nien requested at the all clear point to view the official videos of the race, focused in particular between the 1750 metres and 1600 metres in order to determine whether he had grounds for a protest against second past the post Rock Of Delight. Having viewed the videos Mr Elkins elected to take the matter no further and the all clear was given on the Judge’s numbers.
Captains Pick utilised the sprint lane to win.
Misstrepo hung in and broke stride near the 1500 metres – placed on its last chance to race truly. Was held up and checked behind a tiring runner near the 350 metres and broke stride as a result – no further action was deemed necessary.
Mach Quillan NZ broke shortly before the start was effected whilst contacting its own sulky – placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races.
Reds Star Dealbroke in the latter stages of the score up subsequent to the runner to its inside breaking stride. No action was taken against the gelding however, after taking evidence from trainer/driver Grant Dixon, Stewards determined that Reds Star Deal would continue to be placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races.
Motu Cullen NZ broke in the early stages of the score up and continued to break stride until being retired from the race by its driver. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in its off hind leg. On veterinary advice Motu Cullen NZ is stood down from racing for 10 days and until a veterinary certificate of soundness is submitted.
Race 3 - NR46-50 RON MCCALL MEMORIAL SERIES HEAT 2 1780M
Illbewatching surrendered the lead on the first turn. Sulky contacted by a galloping runner in the home straight almost unseating driver Pete McMullen.
Rockslide worked forward to the lead on the first turn. Broke free of interference shortly after entering the home straight and contacted the sulky wheel of the preceding runner and causing severely interference to other runners – after taking evidence from trainer/driver Grant Dixon Stewards stood down Rockslide from racing until he completes a satisfactory requalifying trial.
Royal Winkle hung in and contacted marker pegs near the 1250 metres – a warning was issued.
Financially Stablewas severely checked by a galloping runner in the home straight.
Prince Joy raced three wide early prior to being left leading the one wide line throughout.
October Racketeer commenced a three wide run from midfield near the 650 metres.
Malinjang was severely checked in the home straight by a galloping runner.
Race 4 - 2024 GARRARDS REDCLIFFE YEARLING SALES SERIES 2YO HEAT 1 1780M
Cedar Creek Falls surrendered the lead near 1400 metres.
Sweet Charmer led the one wide line prior to being eased to a three back pegline position. Commenced to give ground near the 400 metres to be beaten in excess of 173 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Stewards ordered the filly stood down from racing until she completes a satisfactory requalifying trial.
Jive Master worked forward to take over the lead near the 1400 metres.
Its A Sponge Darl was held up from the 400 metres by a tiring runner resulting in the gelding being severely checked and breaking stride.
Sinabun worked forward three wide to take up the position leading the one wide line in the back straight on the first occasion.
Race 5 –COMFORT INN NORTHGATE PACE 1780M
Hanover Lecter broke in the score up and was out of position when the start was effected – placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races.
Rocknroll Times was caught three wide for the first 400 metres whilst being restrained to the rear of the field.
Angelic She Aint contacted marker pegs near the 800 metres – a warning was issued. Placed back in the mobile barrier draw having satisfied QRIC requirements.
Race 6 - 2024 GARRARDS REDCLIFFE YEARLING SALES SERIES 2YO HEAT 2 1780M
Our Sweet Jess withstood a strong early challenge for the lead.
Hell Im Smooth issued a strong unsuccessful early challenge for the lead and was obliged to lead the one wide line thereafter.
Alsrokstar shifted out slightly near the 500 metres to follow the preceding runner which was wider than the true line, resulting its outside sulky wheel making heavy contact with the inside sulky wheel of the runner to its outside which raced roughly as a result.
Im Alby utilised the sprint lane to finish third.
Basilisk Bob hung in slightly near the 500 metres simultaneous the runner to his inside shifting out marginally to follow the preceding runner which was racing wider than the true line. The result was Basilisk Bob’s near side sulky wheel made heavy contact with the outside sulky wheel of the runner to its inside and the gelding raced roughly as a result. The gelding then broke stride free of interference entering the home straight – having considered its recent race record, Stewards ordered Basilisk Bob stood down from racing until he completes a satisfactory requalifying trial.
Race 7 – SECTIONALS & RATINGS AT SULKY.APP PACE 1780M
Treacherous Gabby withstood a strong early challenge for the lead.
One Chain Road issued a strong unsuccessful early challenge for the lead then gained a one out one back trail near the 1350 metres.
Boak worked forward three wide to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1350 metres then over- raced thereafter. Driver Nathan Dawson was reprimanded under the provisions of AHRR270(2) for allowing his body to protrude outside the sulky.
Deecee Rockin failed to gain a clear run to the finish – untested.
For No Reason was three wide one back from the 800 metres between shifting down to gain inside runs from the 500 metres, utilising the sprint lane to finish second.
Choc A Block utilised the sprint lane to finish third.
Missed Consequences commenced a three wide run from a rearward position near the 800 metres.
Race 8 - HUSTLER 104 PACE 2040M
Hoiho NZ severely over raced whilst leading throughout.
Trouper Jujon worked forward three wide to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1600 metres. Was retired from the race by its driver after accidentally sustaining a flat tyre near the 600 metres when the sulky wheel was contacted by the trailing runner when Trouper Jujon shifted out whilst tiring.
Nuclear Bling sustained a flat sulky tyre near the 600 metres when it shifted out and was contacted by a runner moving up to its outside.
Tackas Last Dance utilised the sprint lane to finish second.
Matai Reactor led the one wide line prior to gaining a one out on back trail near the 1600 metres. Accidentally contacted the outside sulky wheel of the preceding runner which shifted out whilst tiring.
Race 9 - PELICAN WATERS RESORT 1 WIN PACE 1780M
Hollywoodbound surrendered the lead near the 1400 metres.
Ebony Belle raced one out one back until being left leading the one wide line from the 1300 metres.
Hatties Jewel broke in the score up checking other runners which caused a false start to be declared – placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races. Worked forward to take over the lead near the 1400 metres. Surrendered the lead near the 1300 metres at which stage she commenced to over race. Utilised the sprint lane to finish second.
My Ultimate Cossie briefly raced in a one out one back position prior to working forward to the lead near the 1300 metres.
Badlander broke near the 1100 metres – placed on its last chance to race truly.last chance to truly.
Bettor Dream Sweet raced fiercely near the 1100 metres and broke stride when being restrained by its driver – placed on its last chance to race truly.
Elegant Womanunderwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to be lame behind - on veterinary advice she is stood down from racing until a veterinary certificate of soundness is submitted.
Race 10 - HYGAIN FEEDS MAIDEN PACE 1780M
Justcallmenitro withstood an early challenge for the lead prior to surrendering the lead near the 1300 metres.
Sports Mode issued a challenge for the lead on the first turn then accidentally briefly locked wheels with the runner to his outside as he was working forward to the lead. Surrendered the lead near the 1150 metres.
Boston Harbour raced three wide whilst working forward to challenge for the lead near the 1400 metres at which stage it accidentally briefly locked wheels with the runner to its inside before advancing to take over the lead near the 1150 metres.
Poetic Reason gave ground from the 400 metres.
