Race 1 - HUSTLER SUPER X MAIDEN PACE   1780M

TAKING A PUNT Led throughout.

WHYKIKAMOOCOW Restrained at the start to a rearward trailing position.

CHARMAWAY Restrained at the start to a rearward trailing position. Placed back in the mobile draw after two successful consecutive mobile starts.

ROCKWITHBON JUJON  Inclined to hang out and race greenly when racing in a trailing position with cover.

General

Driver T. Dawson was fined the sum of $150 under AHR Rule 162 (1)(y) for failing to adhere to the minimum required time standards for a race, in that he drove the first two halves when leading in a time of 66.1 seconds.

Race 2 – REDCLIFFE YEARLING SALE NOMINATIONS CLOSE 31ST OCTOBER PACE 2040M

THE VIXEN NZ Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

MY ULTIMATE VICTOR Inclined to hang out when leading.

HAZZA IS WATCHING Caught wide over the early stages of the event, the Gelding was difficult to restrain back to a rearward trailing position and raced without cover for some distance.

General

Driver J. Chappel was reprimanded under AHR Rule 163(1)(c)(ii) for contacting a marker peg leaving the hometurn.

Race 3 - MAZDA ASPLEY PACE          2040M

MARKSMAN Broke gait in the early stages of the score up however was in position at the start.

ISLA AND ADDIE Raced wide over the early stages of the event before being restrained into a one out trailing position behind Gosling in Flight nearing the 1600 metre point, contacting the offside sulky tyre of Gosling in Flight in the move.

DIAMOND DEANO Restrained at the start to a rearward trailing position.

WESTRAY Restrained at the start to a rearward trailing position. Placed back in the mobile draw after two successful consecutive mobile starts.

GOSLING IN FLIGHT The offside sulky tyre was struck and flattened nearing the 1600 metre point of the event by Isla and Addie which then placed the gelding at somewhat of a disadvantage, worked forward shortly after to successfully challenge for the lead to lead over the remainder however commenced to tire nearing the 400 metre point of the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities and driver T.McMullen indicated carrying the flat tire for a significant distance did take a toll on the gelding in todays performance.

TORQUE IN CONTROL   Left a rearward trailing position working forward three wide to the position outside of the leader nearing the 1000 metre point of the event.

General

Driver N. Dawson was fined the sum of $100 under AHR Rule 168(1)(a) for shifting ground in a careless manner resulting in the offside sulky tyre of Gosling in flight being contacted and flattened placing this gelding at somewhat of a disadvantage.

Race 4 - WOLF SIGNS BAND 5 CONDITIONED PACE  1780M

DRIVE TO THE BEACH Caught wide over the early stages of the event before being restrained to a rearward trailing position.

IM DESIRABLE Restrained at the start and was inclined to pull hard. Pulled up and failed to complete the race nearing the 500 metre point of the event when the number 2 carrying strap became detached.

MIRACLE MOOSE NZ– unable to secure clear running over the early stages of the home straight.

Race 5 – LADBROKES OWN SPRING PACE    1780M

GRIGORA Commenced a three wide run leaving the 700 metre point.

MISTER DOMINGO After racing in the position outside of the leader over the early stages of the event the Gelding obtained cover from Favreau nearing the 1200 metre point.

FAVREAU Commenced a three wide run without cover over the middle stages working forward to the position outside of the leader nearing the 1200 metre point of the event.

QUEENSLANDER Held up for clear running leaving the home turn.

Race 6 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND UP TO NR70 HEAT 4 1780M

MOMENTUM SWING Locked wheels with Supa Dupa Luca NZ nearing the 1400 metre point of the event being severely checked and broke gait for some distance.

SUPA DUPA LUCA NZ Broke in the latter stages of the score up resulting in second row runners being checked. As as result a false start was declared and the gelding will now be drawn to the outside for future mobile starts. Locked wheels nearing the 1400 metre point of the event with Momentum Swing resulting in the gelding being severely checked then commenced to choke down nearing the 800 metre point of the event and was pulled up by the driver. Connections were advised the Gelding will be required to complete one satisfactory requalifying trial prior to resuming racing.

WINDY HILL WALLY Checked when Momentum Swing and Supa Dupa Luca NZ locked wheels.

KASH US BACK Caught wide early and was restrained to a rearward trailing position. Severely checked when Momentum Swing and Supa Dupa Luca NZ locked wheels.  

CUT GLASS NZ Completed the race with an offside flat tyre.

OBI ONE NZ Checked when Momentum Swing and Supa Dupa Luca NZ locked wheels.

LUVBITE  Checked when Momentum Swing and Supa Dupa Luca NZ locked wheels.  

General

Stewards inquired into the reasons surrounding Momentum Swing and Supa Dupa Luca NZ locking wheels nearing the 1400 metre point, after taking evidence from drivers N. Dawson and B. Livingstone it was established there had been a marginal shift on the part of both horses with Supa Dupa Luca NZ already racing greenly which contributed to the incident approaching the turn which then resulted in the horses sulky’s becoming locked, Momentum swing broke gait and lost considerable ground in the incident. Stewards considered the evidence tendered by drivers and the patrol footage and took no further action against either driver.

Race 7 – BURWOOD STUD PACE (SKY 2)       2040M

CONNIES SPIRIT Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

DASHNDOT Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

HURRIKANE JEWELS Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event finishing in excess of 64 metres from the winner. The Mare will be placed on it’s last chance to race competitively.

General

Driver C.Butler was reprimanded under AHR Rule 163(1)(c)(ii) for contacting a marker peg leaving the home turn.

Race 8 - STEVIE REDBACK PEST CONTROL PACE (SKY 2)   2040M

MISSDEHEIR Commenced a three wide run without cover leaving the 800 metre point of the event.

SOMEONES WATCHING Caught wide over the early stages of the race before being restrained to a rearward trailing position. Broke gait nearing the 1300 metre point of the event and will be placed on it’s last chance to race truly.

OUR UNCLE LES Broke gait rounding the hometurn and will be placed on it’s last chance to race truly.

General

Driver D. Hewitt was fined the sum of $100 under AHR Rule 162 (1)(y) for failing to adhere to the minimum required time standards for a race, in that he drove the first two halves when leading in a time of 65.8 seconds.
