Race 1 - STU VALENTINE FOR BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE UP TO NR70 PACE      1780M

OURSWEETPOG – After obtaining a trail early, over raced throughout before giving ground from near the 400m to be beaten 29.4m.

ESCOBAR NZ – After being fractious early in the score up, will continue to be placed out of the draw in mobile events.

Race 2 – KEVIN & MADELINE BENHAM MEMORIAL   2040M

ARNOLD STREET – Worked forward three-wide from the start to the position outside the leader near the 1650m, before obtaining a trail near the 1450m.

WAR CLUB– Utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

MODERN SHEEN – Worked forward from the start, trailing up three-wide before working to the position outside the leader near the 1450m.

General – Trainer Donny Smith was reprimanded under AHR Rule 43A. (1) for removing Modern Sheen from the course within the prescribed time without first obtaining permission from the stewards.

Race 3 - LADBROKES COMMUNITIES PACE   2040M

KHULAN KID – Utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

LITTLEMICKEY – Caught three- wide early, before restraining to the rear near the 1600m.

Race 4 - GARRARDS HERE ON TRACK PACE 1780M

BERTILS FIREFOX – Withstood a strong early challenge for the lead after the start before being unable to withstand a mid-race challenge near the 800m.

AQUA CRUISER – Shifted out and attempted to trail up three-wide near the 1000m before shifting back down to two-wide at the rear near the 700m.

MISTER DIAMOND – Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead from the start before restraining for a trail into the first turn.

HIGHVIEW SADLER NZ – Steadily away before working forward three-wide to be outside the leader near the 1300m.

ILLBEWATCHING – Worked forward from the start to be outside the leader near the 1300m, before restraining to trail Highview Saddler near the 1300m.

EMMALEEN – Began a three-wide trailing run near the 1100m, before being left three-wide without a trail near the 800m.

MAYWYNS KAREN – Utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

PRETTY LITTLE LIAR – Began a three-wide forward move from a rearward position near the 1100m to work quickly around the field to lead near the 800m.

Race 5 – RQ SUPPORTS RACING INDUSTRY SAFETY PACE 1780M

SAMMYS SECRET – Shifted out under pressure in the run to the finish.

DONT FEAR FOR ME – Worked forward three-wide from the start to be outside the leader near the1500m.

TRACER BULLET – Caught wide early before restraining to the rear near the 1350m.

WEHAVTIME NZ – After restraining at the start, shifted out three-wide to commence a forward move near the 750m. After working forward, hung in around the final two turns and raced roughly near the 500m, before finishing the race off fairly to be beaten 2.8m.

SNIP OF BEAUTY – Contacted the final marker peg entering the home straight in the run to the finish.   

General – After being inspected by the on-course veterinary surgeon, Arkuna was declared a late scratching at 6.41pm.

Stewards delayed the declaration of all clear until viewing footage of the run around the home turn to the finish, and after being satisfied Snip Of Beauty didn’t gain more ground than the margin to the following placegetter when contacting a marker peg entering the home straight on the final occasion, declared the result all clear.

Driver Paige Bevan (Snip Of Beauty) was fined $100 under AHR Rule 163(1)(c)(ii) for allowing her sulky wheel to contact the final marker peg entering the home straight on the final occasion.

Race 6 - MEMBERS DRAW WINNER - ALAN LITSCHNER PACE            1780M

THE CASUAL GOOSE – Withstood a strong early challenge for the lead. When questioned about the seemingly improved performance, trainer Michael Nutley stated the horse appreciated being driven more aggressively.

GHOST TRAIN – Challenged unsuccessfully for the lead before settling outside the leader. When questioned regarding the gelding’s seemingly poor performance, trainer Matt Crone stated it couldn’t handle the tough run throughout the race.

BETTING BARON – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 7 – DRIVER OF THE NIGHT - DARREN MCCALL PACE  1780M

WHATA CHALLENGE – Withstood an early challenge for the lead before restraining to trail Prospectus near the 1350m. Contacted several marker pegs rounding the final turn when racing in restricted room, therefore no action was taken.

SHAKATIE – Momentarily held up behind a tiring runner approaching the final turn.

THREE MACHS – Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead from the start before restraining for a trail near the 1500m.

PROSPECTUS – Worked forward three-wide from the start to race to the lead near the 1350m.

ROLLONX – Worked forward four-wide from the start to race outside the leader from the 1350m.

SIR JUJON – Broke near the 1300m when the pace slackened abruptly, causing it to contact the preceding sulky, before breaking again shortly afterwards free of interference.  Connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly. Shifted out three-wide near the 1200m to work forward to be outside the leader from near the 1000m.

General – Driver Layne Dwyer (Rollonx) was reprimanded under AHR Rule 162(1)(u) for reducing the pace abruptly near the 1300m, inconveniencing the runners following.

Race 8 - REDCLIFFE YEARLING SALE NOMINATIONS CLOSE 31ST OCTOBER MAIDEN PACE       1780M

BERNICES LOVE – Hung in contacting a marker peg entering the final turn. Connections of the filly were advised a warning would be issued.

KEAYANG AVA – Broke during the score up and took no competitive part in the race. Connections of the filly were advised it would be placed out of the draw for two consecutive satisfactory mobile starts.

LITTLE MONKEY – Broke soon after the start. Connections of the filly were advised it would be placed out of the draw for two consecutive satisfactory mobile starts. After racing three-wide around the first turn and into the back straight, was restrained to a mid-field two-wide trailing position.

THE SQUARE DANCER – After racing outside the leader from the start, veered to the outside of the track near the 800m and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed the mare had choked down. Connections were advised The Square Dancer would be stood down for one satisfactory trial.

SIRIUS MAXIMUS – After struggling to stay in touch with the other runners, then giving ground over the concluding stages of the race to be beaten 58.6m, the gelding’s connections were advised it would be placed on its last chance to race competitively.

TAKEN BY SURPRISE – Was held up for a run over the concluding stages of the race.

Race 9 - BURWOOD STUD 2YO MAIDEN PACE           1780M

SUN WUKONG – After beginning moderately, raced greenly around the first turn before settling leading the one-wide line throughout the remainder of the race.

THREEOEIGHT – Broke a hopple connecting strap during the race, placing the gelding at somewhat of a disadvantage.
