Race 1 - STU VALENTINE FOR BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE PACE       1780M  [MS]

She Dazzles (Mathew Neilson) Caught-wide in the early stages before working forward three-wide to obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 1200metres until tiring over the final 500metres of the event, to be beaten in excess of 82metres. Connections were advised the overall performance of SHE DAZZLES was below the standard required and subsequently was placed on its last chance to race competitively.

Vanity Bay (Trent Moffat) Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.

Four For Four (Edd Bailey) Shifted-out from a midfield marker line position passing the 1400metres to lead the one-wide line prior to obtaining one-out one-back cover from SHE DAZZLES approaching the 1200metres. Commenced a three-wide run late with no cover from a one-out one-back position turning into the back straight on the final occasion however weakened over the concluding stages of the event.

Count Montecarlo (Phoebe Betts) Pulled hard in the score-up.

Race 2 – COMFORT INN & SUITES NORTHGATE PACE       1780M  [MS]

Dattitude (Nathan Rothwell) Gate speed however, raced three-wide in the early stages before working forward to attain the position outside the leader near the 1350metres, where raced for the remainder.

The Narcissist (Mitch Turnbull) Caught four-wide initially after the start before working forward three-wide in the early stages however after failing to obtain a more forward position in the event, the gelding was restrained to the rear of the field near the 1050metres until weakening over the concluding stages of the event.          

Brian Christopher NZ (Brendan Barnes) Utilized the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

Team Sport (Adam Richardson) Inclined to hang-in during the score-up. Hung-in and contacted marker pegs on a number of occasions on turns in the event whilst racing in a midfield marker line position and connections were advised a warning would be issued. Failed to obtain clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested to the line.

Race 3 - ELDERS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT PACE       1780M  [MS]

Jaydes Terror (Clint Sneddon) Slow to muster speed after the start. Tired badly over the final 800metres of the event, to ultimately be beaten in excess of 79metres. Subjected to a post-race veterinary examination, which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer M Wright stated to Stewards he believes the mare may be coming in season which may have been a contributing factor to tonight’s performance. Stewards deemed the performance of JAYDES TERROR below the required standard and subsequently placed the mare on its last chance to race competitively.

Allegretto (Phoebe Betts) Broke gait shortly after the start, losing valuable ground. Connections were advised ALLEGRETTO will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile starts until Stewards are satisfied the gelding can perform in the desired manner. Hung-in and contacted a marker peg on the turn out of the front straight on the final occasion when racing in a rearward marker line position and connections advised a warning would be issued. Hung-in prior to breaking free of interference near the 450metres. After taking into consideration the recent racing record of ALLEGRETTO in this regard, connections were advised the gelding will be required to complete 1(one) satisfactory requalifying trial prior to recommencing racing.    

Funnily Enough (Adam Richardson) Caught-wide in the early stages of the event before progressing forward three-wide to obtain the position outside the leader near the 1350metres. Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event. 

Milliewood (Kelli Dawson) Inclined to over-race during the middle stages of the event whilst racing in a midfield marker line position. Held-up rounding the final turn before utilizing the sprint lane in the run to the finish, finishing strongly.

Bertils Firefox (John Kerr) Broke gait momentarily leaving the preliminary circle, however filled its allotted gate position prior to the candy pole. Commenced a three-wide run late with no cover from the rear of the field leaving the 800metres.  

Race 4 - GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE       1780M  [MS]

Melton Insulted (Taleah McMullen) Inclined to over-race and pulled hard whilst leading during the middle stages of the event.

Perfect Feeling (Brian Letton) Caught four-wide initially after the start before being caught three-wide through the early and middle stages whilst restraining to the rear of the field passing the 1200metres.

Sals Last Blast (Mathew Neilson) Caught five-wide initially after the start before restraining to the rear of the field.      

Candykane (Leonard Cain) Reinstated in the barrier draw for races conducted under mobile start conditions after satisfying QRIC requirements with two(2) successful consecutive mobile starts. 

Mister Hart (Matt Elkins) Worked forward from the start from its second row draw, racing three-wide in the early stages, working forward to attain the position leading the one-wide line near the 1450metres.

Race 5 – LADBROKES RACING CLUB PACE       1780M  [MS]

Jamaican Resort (Trent Moffat) Broke gait free of interference near the 550metres when racing in a midfield marker line position. After taking into consideration the recent racing record of JAMAICAN RESORT in this regard, connections were advised the gelding will be required to complete 1(one) satisfactory requalifying trial prior to recommencing racing. 

My Girl Blaze (Brendan Barnes) Weakened over the concluding stages of the event.

Floorless (Adam Richardson) Caught-wide in the early stages of the event before working forward three-wide to attain the position leading the one-wide line near the 1350metres where raced for the remainder.

Tuffy (Noel Parrish) Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event. Reinstated in the barrier draw for races conducted under mobile start conditions after satisfying QRIC requirements with two(2) successful consecutive mobile starts.

Schooby (Nathan Rothwell) Checked near the 550metres as a result of JAMAICAN RESORT breaking gait.

Rubini (Lola Weidemann) Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.

Race 6 - STEVIE REDBACK PEST CONTROL PACE       2040M  [MS]

Mongolian Conqueror NZ (Dannielle Veivers) Raced three-wide in the early stages of the event, working forward to obtain the position leading the one-wide line turning into the front straight on the first occasion prior to obtaining one-out one-back cover from FORGIVE ME approaching the winning post with two(2) laps remaining.

Forgive Me (Brendan Barnes) Raced three-wide with cover in the early stages before working forward to obtain the position outside the leader approaching the winning post with two(2) laps remaining, where raced until weakening over the concluding stages of the event.  

Kurahaupo Gambler NZ (Leonard Cain) Having not started in a race since 17 October 2022, together with being of 13 years of age, in accordance with QRIC guidelines, the gelding was examined before and after the race by the veterinarian which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Broke gait shortly after the start, tailing out, taking no competitive part in the event. Connections were advised KURAHAUPO GAMBLER NZ will be placed right out of the barrier draw in future mobile starts until Stewards are satisfied the gelding can perform in the desired manner. Trainer A Cain advised Stewards following the running of the event KURAHAUPO GAMBLER NZ will be retired from racing.   

Jilliby Panda (Noel Parrish) Broke gait in the early stages of the score-up and was out of position when the start was effected. Connections were advised JILLIBY PANDA would be placed right out of the barrier draw in future mobile starts until Stewards are satisfied the gelding can perform in the desired manner. Caught the field however was inclined to hang-out leaving the 1350metres whilst racing at the rear of the field before tiring over the concluding stages of the event.   

Geldof (Jordan Topping) Overraced and pulled hard during the early and middle stages of the event when racing in the position behind the leader.

Khulan Kid (Layne Dwyer) Hung-in and contacted a marker peg near the 250metres when racing in a midfield marker line position and connections were advised a warning would be issued.

Lulu Lucifer (Lola Weidemann) Contacted a marker peg near the 450metres when racing in restricted room to the inside of TACTFILLY MIRACLE.

Race 7 – HYGAIN FEEDS PACE       1780M  [MS]

Our Ultimate Ruby (Phoebe Betts) Successfully withstood a challenge for the lead from MAJOR TRALEE (Matt Elkins) in the early stages to lead the event up until tiring over the final 550metres, to ultimately be beaten in excess of 65metres. Connections were advised the overall performance of OUR ULTIMATE RUBY was below the standard required and subsequently placed the mare on its last chance to race competitively.  

Outer Change (Adam Richardson) Slow to muster speed after the start.

Charlevoix (Zac Chappenden) Held-up and inconvenienced behind the tiring OUR ULTIMATE RUBY leaving the 550metres prior to attaining clear running passing the 300metres.

Frame Drive (Jordan Topping) Overraced and pulled hard during the early and middle stages of the event whilst racing in a one-out one-back trailing position. Shifted-out marginally just prior to straightening in the run to the finish, locking sulky wheels with THE BLUE WREN (Damon Watson) resulting in THE BLUE WREN being checked.

Major Tralee (Matt Elkins) Gate speed however, was unsuccessful in strongly challenging for the lead in the early stages and as a result was inclined to race keenly whilst racing in the position outside the leader for the remainder.

The Blue Wren (Damon Watson) Held-up and inconvenienced behind the tiring OUR ULTIMATE RUBY leaving the 550metres. Shifted-in marginally just prior to straightening in the run to the finish, locking sulky wheels with FRAME DRIVE (Jordan Topping) resulting in FRAME DRIVE being checked.

Doolittle Doozzie (Brendan Barnes) Commenced a three-wide run with no cover from the rear of the field leaving the 850metres.

Race 8 - DAN COSTELLO PHOTOGRAPHY 2 WINS PACE       1780M  [MS]

Slip Of Colada (Adam Richardson) Hung-in and contacted a marker peg on the turn into the back straight on the final occasion when racing in a three-back marker line position and connections were advised a warning would be issued. Yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event.

Bahamas Miss (Zac Chappenden) Commenced a trailing three-wide run late from a rearward trailing position turning into the back straight on the final occasion. 

Montana One (Noel Parrish) Led the one-wide line for the majority of the event prior to tiring over the final 400metres, to ultimately be beaten in excess of 64metres. Stewards deemed the performance of MONTANA ONE below the required standard and subsequently placed the gelding on its last chance to race competitively.

Misty Ruler (Lola Weidemann) Yielded ground over the final 400metres of the event, to in the end be beaten in excess of 69metres. Connections were advised the overall performance of MISTY RULER was below the standard required and subsequently placed the gelding on its last chance to race competitively.   

Scruffy NZ (Mitch Turnbull) Caught-wide in the early stages of the event before progressing forward to firstly obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 1300metres before working forward to attain the lead near the 1050metres.

Junior Ryan (Chloe Butler) Held-up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight before obtaining clear running late in the run to the finish.  

Pablos Art (Damon Watson) Hung-in and contacted a marker peg on the turn into the back straight on the first occasion when racing in a rearward marker line position and connections were advised a warning would be issued. Commenced a three-wide run late with no cover from a one-out one-back trailing position upon turning into the back straight on the final occasion.  

Race 9 - SULKY.APP - THE FUTURE OF FORM PACE       1780M  [MS]

General:

Due to an incident which occurred subsequent to a false start being declared at the first attempted score-up, a 13minute delay was incurred to the start of this event.

Sporty Azz (Jordan Topping) Beaten for speed shortly after the start.

Whata Reactor (Zac Chappenden) Failed to take part in the preliminary circle. Fractious in the score-up resulting in WHATA REACTOR breaking gait, however filled its allotted gate position prior to the candy pole and no further action was taken due to a false start being declared at the first attempt. Weakened over the concluding stages of the event.  

Sunny Cove (Andrew Millard) Inclined to hang-out shortly after the start. Caught-wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.

Doc Harvey (Trent Moffat) Checked at the first attempted score-up as a result of MAJOR MISCHIEF jibbed leaving the pre-race circle. Subjected to a pre-race veterinary examination for precautionary reasons as DOC HARVEY had broken its bit subsequent to a false start being declared at the first attempt. On inspection Dr Brett Morris found DOC HARVEY to have no apparent abnormalities and the gelding was passed fit to take its place in the event. 

Major Mischief (Dean Weller) Faced the starter however, jibbed shortly after checking DOC HARVEY and a false start was declared. Jibbed at the retake score-up however, filled its allotted gate position prior to the candy pole. Connections were advised MAJOR MISCHIEF will be placed out of the draw in races conducted under mobile start conditions until Stewards are satisfied the gelding can perform in the desired manner.

Convair Hustler NZ (Hannah Anforth) Caught-wide in the early stages and after failing to obtain a more forward position in the event, the gelding was restrained to the rear of the field. 

Race 10 - MAZDA ASPLEY PACE       1780M  [MS]

General:

This race was rescheduled to a new start time of 10:08pm due to the delay in the previous event.  

Feel The Thrill (Layne Dwyer) Hung-in and contacted a marker peg near the 450metres and again rounding the final bend in the run to the finish when racing in the position behind the leader and connections were advised a warning would be issued.

Lindy Grace (Tr) (Adam Richardson) Contacted marker pegs on the turn into the back straight on the final occasion when leading - Driver reprimanded [AHRR163(1)(c)(ii)].

Shakatie (Brendan Barnes) Gate speed however, raced-wide in the early stages and after failing to obtain a more forward position in the event, the mare was restrained into a midfield trailing position near the 1400metres. Inconvenienced on the turn into the back straight on the first occasion when racing to the immediate outside of SPEEDY SPORT which hang-out abruptly.      

Lazy Blaze (Ian Coulson) Caught-wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.

Three Chord Riff (Clint Sneddon) Raced four-wide initially after the start before working forward three-wide in the early stages to attain the position outside the leader approaching the 1300metres where raced for the remainder.

Dead Set Crazy (Tr) (Matt Elkins) Broke gait in the score-up and was out of position when the start was effected, tailing out, taking no competitive part in the event. Connections were advised DEAD SET CRAZY (TR) will continue to be placed right out of the barrier draw in future mobile starts until Stewards are satisfied the gelding can perform in the desired manner. Broke gait whilst trailing the field near the 1350metres. After considering a good record in this regard, connections were advised DEAD SET CRAZY (TR) would be placed on its last chance to race truly. Trailed the field thereafter.

Office Bad Boy (Zac Chappenden) Held-up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight before becoming unbalanced and breaking gait free of interference near the 100metres. After taking into consideration the recent racing record of OFFICE BAD BOY in this regard, connections were advised the gelding will be required to complete 1(one) satisfactory requalifying trial prior to recommencing racing.  

Speedy Sport (Phoebe Betts) Hung-out abruptly on the turn into the back straight on the first occasion when racing in the position leading the one-wide line and connections were advised a warning would be issued on the gelding’s tractability.

General:

Adam Richardson, driver of LINDY GRACE (TR) was reprimanded under the provisions of AHRR163(1)(c)(ii) for allowing his inside sulky wheel to contact marker pegs entering the back straight on the final occasion.

Zac Chappenden, driver of OFFICE BAD BOY was questioned following the running of this event, after receiving a report from Assistant Starter J Cremin regarding the bahaviour and verbal comments made by Mr Chappenden after the race. After taking evidence from Assistant Starter J Cremin and driver Zac Chappenden, Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Mr Chappenden of his conduct and obligations under the rules.
