Race 1 - LADBROKES BET TICKER PACE 1780M
LULU LUCIFER – Contacted a marker peg entering the home straight on the final occasion.
ANGELIC SHE AINT – Restrained from a wide barrier to settle at the rear of the field near the 1300m. After satisfying QRIC requirements, will be placed back in the draw in future mobile events.
SHEREACTS – No clear run over the concluding stages.
MAGICOL IDEAL NZ – Jibbed leaving the pre-race circle and was out of position as the start was effected. Connections were advised the gelding will be excluded from the barrier draw for two consecutive, satisfactory mobile starts.
General – Driver Lola Weidemann (Lulu Lucifer) was Fined $100 for contravening AHR Rule 163(1)(c)(ii) for allowing her sulky wheel to contact the final marker peg around the home turn entering the sprint lane.
Race 2 – GARRARDS HERE ON TRACK PACE 1780M
OCEAN LANE – Hung in and contacted a marker peg near the 700m. Connections of the mare were advised a warning had been issued. Was momentarily held up for a run entering the home straight before running home well when shifted out wider on the track.
GOTTA DREAM - Hung in and contacted a marker peg near the 700m. Connections of the gelding were advised a warning had been issued.
ROCKTIME – Shifted out from the rear of the field to move forward three-wide from near the 1200m to be outside the leader near the 1000m.
HOIHO NZ– Over-raced during the mid-section of the event.
General – At 5.29pm the on-course veterinary surgeon advised stewards My Ultimate Heston was showing signs of discomfort and recommended the gelding be scratched from the event. An announcement was made over the on-course PA advising patrons of the scratching. Connections were advised My Ultimate Heston would be stood down from racing for 7 days and would require a veterinary certificate of fitness before being eligible to race again.
Race 3 - REDCLIFFE LEAGUES CLUB PACE 1780M
MISTER HART – Withstood a strong early challenge for the lead. Raced roughly entering the first turn when racing in restricted room.
SUBTLE CHAY – Galloped free of interference near the 1500m. Connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly.
CONNIES SPIRIT – Began quickly, then unsuccessfully challenged for the lead before restraining to the position behind the leader. Hung in contacting a marker peg near the 450m. Connections of the mare were advised a warning had been issued.
ACE LOMBO – Shifted out near the 1200m to work forward to be outside the leader near the 1050m.
Race 4 - MAZDA ASPLEY PACE 1780M
NIGHT SHADOW – Broke near the 500m when racing between Rocco Variety and Captain Oh Captain.
DEEP REGRET – After being caught three-wide from the start and being unable to ease into a position closer to the pegs, was restrained to the rear of the field near the 1000m.
JILLIBY PANDA – After working forward from a wide barrier, took the first turn awkwardly before progressing forward to reach the lead near the 1300m. Gave ground from near the 550m to be beaten 83.9m. Connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race competitively. After satisfying QRIC requirements, will be placed back in the draw in future mobile events.
DOOLITTLE DAYS –Contacted the final marker peg entering the home straight on the final occasion.
CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN – Hung in tightening Night shadow near the 500m.
General – Driver Layne Dwyer (Doolittle Days) was Fined $100 for contravening AHR Rule 163(c)(ii) for allowing his sulky wheel to contact the final marker peg around the home turn entering the sprint lane.
Stewards inquired into an incident that occurred near the 500m where Night Shadow broke when racing in between Rocco Variety and Captain Oh Captain. After considering evidence put forward by drivers Brendan Barnes (Night Shadow), Lola Weidemann (Rocco Variety) and Nathan Rothwell (Captain Oh Captain), and on their observations, stewards attributed Night Shadow galloping to Captain Oh Captain hanging in tightening Night Shadow, despite the efforts of Nathan Rothwell to keep him straight. Connections of the Captain Oh Captain were advised a warning had been issued against it for hanging in.
Race 5 – COMFORT INN & SUITES NORTHGATE PACE 1780M
RISKY BUZINESS – Connections of the gelding were advised a warning had been issued for hanging in contacting marker pegs near the 700m and rounding the home turn.
GOODTIME CRACKER – After satisfying QRIC requirements, will be placed back in the draw in future mobile events. Worked forward from the start to race outside the leader from near the 1500m.
DOLLARBILL – After Breaking in the score-up and being out of position at the start, connections were advised the gelding will be excluded from the barrier draw for two consecutive, satisfactory mobile starts.
General - Driver Brendan Barnes (Mammals Destiny) was fined $400 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) For using the whip with more than a wrist-flicking action.
Race 6 - DAN COSTELLO PHOTOGRAPHY PACE 1780M
SINGER SNAP – Contacted the final marker peg entering the home straight on the final occasion.
SCHOOBY– Worked forward from the start from a wide barrier to race to the lead near the 1550m.
General – Driver Trent Hodges (Singer Snap) was fined $100 for allowing his sulky to contact the final marker peg entering the home straight on the final occasion.
Driver Andrew Millard (Feeling The Power) was fined $200 for using the whip with more than a wrist-flicking action.
Race 7 – DARREN EBERT & CO PACE 1780M
BEYONSKI – Beaten for speed in the run to the first turn.
MY GIRL BLAZE– Showed gate speed to lead near the 1600, before restraining for a trail near the 1300m.
CHAMPAGNE REACTOR – After being caught wide early then working forward to be outside the leader near the 1300m, commenced to give ground near the 500m to be beaten 58.6m. Connections were advised the mare will be placed on its last chance to race competitively.
TODAYS HERO – Worked forward from the start to be outside the leader near the 1600m, then progressing to the lead near the 1300m.
Race 8 - HUSTLER RAPTOR PACE 1780M
WEDDING NIGHT – After being beaten 74.7 m, connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race competitively.
HAWKE EYE – Broke as the start was effected, will continue to be placed out of the draw in mobile events. Commenced a three-wide forward move near the 800m.
PABLOS ART – Broke during the score-up and was out of position at the start, will continue to be placed out of the draw in mobile events. Raced roughly near the 1450m when restrained off the back of the preceding horse when the pace slackened. Slightly inconvenienced near the 800m when commencing a three-wide move, the preceding horse shifted out three-wide.
General - Driver Chloe Butler (Hawke Eye) was reprimanded under AHR Rule 163(1)(b)(ii) impeding the forward progress of Pablos Art near the 800m.
Due to the dominance of the winner, several runners that were beaten by extensive margins had no action taken against them.
