Race 1 - LADBROKES ODDS SURGE PACE    1780M

A PERFECT DANCE – Began quickly to settle outside the leader before restraining for a trail near the 1450m.

SWOOPING EAGLE – Worked forward three-wide early to race outside the leader near the 1450m, before gaining a trail near the 900m.

BETTING JEWEL – Shifted out three-wide from the rear near the 1350m, before working forward to race outside the leader near the 900m.

THE VIXEN NZ – Began moderately before racing roughly near the1650m, then breaking momentarily shortly afterwards after competing for the position behind the leader.

General – Driver Chloe Butler (Hazza Is Watching) was reprimanded under AHR Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have her horse in position in the early and middle stages of the score up.

Stewards inquired into the reason The Vixen NZ (Jack Chapple) appearing to race roughly near the 1650m, then shortly afterwards breaking stride momentarily. After questioning both drivers and considering evidence given, stewards’ observations, viewing video footage and determining minor mitigating factors, driver Nathan Dawson (Ashlee Nitro) was fined the sum of $300 after pleading guilty to AHR Rule 168(1)(a) for carelessly shifting in when restraining to the pegs, causing The Vixen to race roughly.

Race 2 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE           2040M

FORGIVE ME – Shifted out slightly near the 550m when leading.

Race 3 - ELDERS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT PACE (SKY 2) 2040M

MUCHO GUAPA – Tightened by Nevada Yankee hanging in around the first turn.

NEVADA YANKEE – Connections of the gelding were advised a warning would be issued against it for hanging in around the first turn, tightening Mucho Guapa. After giving ground over the concluding stages, was inspected by the on-course veterinary surgeon, who reported no significant findings. Connections reported they would consider the gelding’s immediate racing future.

DIEGO DELGARDO– After working forward from the start to race outside the leader near the 1700m, restrained to trail Modern Sheen near the 1300m.

ZACH LOWE NZ -In accordance with the QRIC older horse policy, the gelding was inspected by the on-course veterinarian prior to the race and was passed fit to start. Broke early in the score up then was slightly out of position when the start was effected. As the mobile had hesitated to move off while waiting for back row horses who were slow to exit the pre-race circle, no action was taken.

OYSTER STRIDE – Was inconvenienced by Modern Sheen being slow to exit the pre-race circle. Connections of the gelding were advised a warning would be issued against it racing roughly halfway down the home straight on the final occasion.

MODERN SHEEN – Was slow to move out of the pre-race circle while being assisted by the Clerk Of The Course. Shifted out three-wide near the 1550m to work forward to race outside the leader near the 1300m.

Race 4 - STEVIE REDBACK PEST CONTROL UP TO NR70 PACE (SKY 2)         1780M

MONSIEUR DELACOUR – Showed gate speed to race outside the leader before restraining to trail Escobar NZ near the 1500m.

ESCOBAR NZ – After being out of position at the start, will continue to be placed out of the draw in mobile events. Worked forward from the start to be outside the leader near the 1500m.

OBI ONE NZ – Utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

Race 5 – COMFORT INN & SUITES NORTHGATE PACE (SKY 2)            1780M

OUR UNCLE LES – Raced without cover into the first turn before restraining to trail Pretty Little Liar near the 1500m.

PRETTY LITTLE LIAR – Worked forward from the start to be outside the leader near the 1500m.

BLING THE LUCK – Held up into the home straight before finishing strongly when clear over the final stages.

TREACHEROUS GABBY – Started a three-wide forward run from near the 800m.

WANDARY DELIGHT – Started a three-wide trailing run from near the 800m.

Race 6 - DOOLITTLE LODGE PACE (SKY 2)    1780M

ALLHEARTNOHEIGHT – Severely checked and galloped into the first turn when tightened by Get Me Outta Here and Three Chord Riff, who both hung down badly despite the efforts of their drivers.

GET ME OUTTA HERE – Hung down severely into the first turn, badly inconveniencing Allheartnoheight.  Connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly.

THREE CHORD RIFF – Hung down into the first turn when racing to the outside of Get Me Outta Here and Allheartnoheight.  Connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly.

KNIGHT JUJON – Broke free of interference near the 700m and again near the 450m.   Connections were advised the gelding would be stood down for one satisfactory trial.

THE CROM – After racing in a rearward position, commenced giving ground from near the 600m.  After being beaten 58.3m, connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race competitively.

Race 7 – BURWOOD STUD 2YO MAIDEN PACE (SKY 2)         1780M

BELMER BETTY – After racing outside the leader early, restrained to trail Ohakaredrobinjujon near the 1400m.

OHOKAREDROBINJUJON – Worked forward from the start to race outside the leader near the 1400m. Restrained to trail Taking A Punt from near the 1000m.

TAKING A PUNT -Shifted out three-wide from a rearward position near the 1200m to work forward to race outside the leader near the 1000m.  

Race 8 - DAN COSTELLO PHOTOGRAPHY PACE (SKY 2)      1780M

FINANCIAL BURDEN – After racing outside the leader throughout, gave ground over the concluding stages. Connections requested a veterinary examination of the gelding after the event after being disappointed with its effort. The on-course veterinary surgeon reported slight swelling inside the near side knee consistent with a rub from the knee boot. Connections were advised to take measures to prevent this occurring in the future.

LITTLE MONKEY – Raced roughly after the start was effected.

NUCLEAR BLING – Held up momentarily entering the home straight on the final occasion.
