Race 1 - WOLF SIGNS MAIDEN PACE 1780M

Cedar Creek Falls broke free of interference near the 1400 metres and again near the 1200 metres – stood down from racing until it completes a satisfactory requalifying trial. 

Buckleup surrendered the lead near the 1250 metres. 

Boston Harbour led the one wide line prior to gaining a one out one back trail near the 1200 metres. 

Fancy Like Barbie worked forward three wide to take over the lead near the 1250 metres.

Heza Maywyn inconvenienced by a galloping runner near the 1400 metres. Worked forward to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1200 metres.

Playboi Roy had not started in a race since 15/09/2021. In accordance with QRIC guidelines, the gelding was examined by the on-course veterinarian with no apparent abnormalities detected.

Race 2 – PELICAN WATERS RESORT PACE   2040M

Shez Got Bling surrendered the lead near the 1500 metres. 

Tackas Last Dance led the one wide line for the majority of the race prior to giving ground over the concluding stages. 

Lady Allegra worked forward three wide to take over the lead near the 1500 metres.

Dinosaurus Rex was held up for clear running until utilising the sprint lane to finish strongly for 4th placing – not fully tested. 

Race 3 - MAZDA ASPLEY 0 TO 3 WINS PACE 1780M

Financially Stable surrendered the lead near the 1200 metres.

Rock With Nate led the one wide line prior to gaining a one out one back trail near the 850 metres.

Team Sport was caught racing three wide for the first 400 metres prior to being restrained to a one out four back position then shortly afterwards shifted down to the peg line.

Pumpkin Pat momentarily shifted wider near the 1250 metres. 

Orions Wildside was three wide one back from the 700 metres.

Kerbang raced three wide until working forward to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 850 metres. 

Bo Duke NZ trailed the leader until shifting out near the 1250 metres to take over the lead near the 1200 metres.

Music Moth pulled hard in the score up and throughout the middle stages of the race prior to commencing to lose ground from the 500 metres to finish in last place beaten in excess of 133 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities – stood down from racing until it completes a satisfactory requalifying trial for the poor performance. Trainer Donny Smith told the Stewards that once the mare ‘has had enough’ in a race she completely fails to finish her races off.

Smokeshow commenced a three wide run from towards the rear of the field near the 700 metres.

Race 4 - LADBROKES BLACKBOOK PACE     1780M

Royal Winkle withstood challenges for the lead over the first 350 metres.

Gina Del Ray mounted an early unsuccessful challenge for the lead then had a tendency to over race in the middle stages whilst leading the one wide line.

Highview Sadler NZ,in accordance with QRIC aged horse guidelines, was examined before and after the race by the on-course veterinarian with no apparent abnormalities detected. 

Bella Bronski worked forward here wide to briefly challenge the leader prior to dropping behind that runner near the 1300 metres. 

Tactfilly Miracle ran up onto the back of tiring runners approaching the finish. 

Studleigh Mark utilised the sprint lane to finish second.

Gabbys Sportstar pulled hard in the score up then had a tendency to over race through the middle stages.

Race 5 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEAGHAN MCNEE PACE           1780M

Red Rock hung in and contacted marker pegs on the final turn – a warning was issued. Gave ground from the 450 metres after securing a comfortable run throughout.

Modern Sheen withstood a lengthy challenge for the position leading the one wide line.

Unreal Feeling mounted an unsuccessful challenge for the position leading the one wide line, subsequently leading the three wide line throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. When questioned regarding his driving tactics Nathan Hurst explained that the gelding had been drawing the second row whereas it is better suited when it can race forward in the open as it prefers to ‘grind’ away rather than sit and sprint. He further explained that each time he got closer to the horse outside the leader it increased the speed preventing him from being able to reach the position outside the leader. He went on to say that by midrace over the short course he saw no advantage in restraining to the rear and that he was happy with the performance as Unreal Feeling held on strongly for fifth place. Stewards advised Mr Hurst that they accepted his explanation however, they would expect the gelding to be driven in the manner which he had described, circumstances permitting.

Its Back Page News NZ utilised the sprint lane in the run to the finish.

Race 6 - HUSTLER SUPER X PACE     2040M

La Mistress withstood early challenges for the lead then surrendered the lead near the 1300 metres. Commenced to give from the 400 metres to finish in last place beaten 56 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities – placed on her last chance to race competitively.

My Ultimate Victor led the one wide line prior to working forward to take over the lead near the 1250 metres.

Dattitude raced three wide until taking over the position leading the one wide line near the 1250 metres.

Romero had a tendency to over race throughout the middle stages.

Sergios Rocket commenced a three wide run from the rear of the field near the 800 metres then three wide one back from the 650 metres. 

Rock Nien was held up behind a tiring runner from the 500 metres losing significant ground – finished moderately out wide once clear.

Luxury Lad commenced a three wide run from midfield near the 650 metres. 

Race 7 – SULKY.APP - THE FUTURE OF FORM UP TO NR70 PACE            1780M

Feelin Flirty was held up for clear running on the final turn.

Master Charles led then gave ground in the home straight to finish in last place beaten 19 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered an atrial fibrillation. Under the provisions of AHRR C.(2)(a) Master Charles is stood down from racing for 14 days and will require a veterinary certificate which includes an ECG prior to completing a satisfactory trial.

Playa Blanca raced three wide for the first 700 metres prior to being restrained to the rear of the field at which stage the mare raced keenly. 

Glover NZ led the one wide line throughout.

Drive To The Beach commenced a three wide run from the rear of the field from the 750 metres.

Monsieur Delacour had difficulty gaining a clear run to the finish – not fully tested. 

Call Me Keith NZ was held up for clear running until gaining room from the 150 metres to finish strongly.

Race 8 - GARRARDS HERE AT THE TRACK BAND 5 CONDITIONED PACE   1780M

Despondent surrendered the lead near the 1450 metres.

Yep Got Chooks led the one line throughout prior to giving ground from the 450 metres. 

Nurburgring NZ worked forward to the lead near the 1450 metres. Gave ground in the home straight after setting strong sectionals.

Race 9 - COMFORT INN NORTHGATE PACE (SKY 2)  1780M

Rollonx surrendered the lead near the 1200 metres. Was held up for clear running on the final turn however, finished only moderately once clear.

Melton Insulted over raced whilst leading the one wide line throughout. 

Crime Time commenced a three wide run from a distant one out one back to take over the lead near the 1200 metres. Gave ground from the 400 metres.

Race 10 - ELDERS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT PACE (SKY 2)            1780M

Highly Respected led the one wide prior to gaining a one out one back trail near the 1450 metres. 

She Owns The Day contacted a marker peg entering the back straight on the first occasion when racing in tight quarters. The mare was held up for a run around the final turn then finished strongly once clear.

Agent Callan worked forward three wide top take over the position leading the one wide lione near the 1450 metres.

Tulhurst Smoocher was held up for a run around the final turn then finished strongly once clear.
