Supplementary Report:
Stewards today questioned Trainer Scott Hewitt and owner John Hanley regarding John Hanley assisting with the post-race procedures regarding the swab sample taken from Marvella following its win in Race 8 at Redcliffe on 27 June 2024 when not the holder of a current stablehands licence.
After careful consideration of the matter Stewards charged John Hanley with the contravention of AHR 204 for carrying out the duties of a stablehand when unlicensed. Stewards further issued a charged against Scott Hewitt under AHR 226 for permitting a person to carry out the duties of a stablehand when not licensed. Both Mr Hanley and Mr Hewitt pleaded guilty to the charge levelled against them and each was fined $250.
Race 1 - PELICAN WATERS RESORT MAIDEN PACE 1780M
Its A Sponge Darl - Hung in, contacted and dislodged a marker post approaching the 1400m. Continued to hang in at various stages of the event and a warning was issued against the gelding.
Boston Bronski - Raced roughly shortly after the start.
Peejay Mack - Hung in and sulky wheel went inside marker posts near the 500m.
Glowing Amber - Raced roughly at various stages of the event.
Southern Scarlet - Over raced whilst racing outside the leader.
Race 2 – WOLF SIGNS 1 WIN PACE 1780M
Marksman - Raced wide in the early stages, working forward to obtain a position outside the leader approaching the 1450m and obtained a trail approaching the 1400m.
Royal Studleigh - Raced wide in the early stages, working forward to obtain a position outside the leader approaching the 1400m.
Race 3 - STEVIE REDBACK PEST CONTROL PACE 2040M
Bettor Dream Sweet - Commenced a three wide move at the 1350m and obtained the position outside the leader approaching the 950m.
Shezamaterialgirl - Raced wide in the early stages of the event, working forward to the position outside the leader approaching the 1700m.
Shadys Delight - Contacted a marker post and dislodging it turning in the front straight on the final occasion – Driver Hannah Anforth reprimanded AHR Rule 163 (1)(c)(ii)
Race 4 - COMFORT INN NORTHGATE PACE 2040M
Ashlee Nitro – Raced wide early in the early stages, working forward obtaining the position outside the leader approaching the 1800m and obtaining a trail around the 1700m.
Mikibequick - Raced wide in the early stages of the event, working forward to obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 1800m.
Mossman NZ - Commenced a three wide run around the 1700m.
Modern Sheen - Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.
Race 5 – GARRARDS HERE AT THE TRACK UP TO NR70 PACE 1780M
Goelitz - Raced wide in the early stages, obtaining the position outside the leader approaching the 1600m. Inclined to over race throughout.
Alta Equus - Commenced a three wide run around the 1200m and worked forward to lead the event around the 1000m.
Shez Notorious - Inclined to over race in the early stages of the event.
Race 6 - LADBROKES BET TICKER UP TO NR70 PACE 1780M
Press Statement- Inclined to over race throughout the race.
Mach Assassin - Held up prior to entering the straight, finishing off the race fairly once clear.
Captains Pick -Raced wide early obtaining the position outside the leader approaching the 1500m.
Paravani NZ- Having not started in a race since December 2023 and in accordance with QRIC guidelines, the gelding was examined before and after the race by the veterinarian which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
Shoulda Passed- Having not started in a race since November 2022 and in accordance with QRIC guidelines, the gelding was examined before and after the race by the veterinarian which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
Race 7 – HUSTLER FASTRAK PACE 1780M
For No Reason - Raced wide in the early stages of the event to obtain the position outside the leader approaching 1600m.
Alabama Lioness - Raced wide in the early stages of the event, working forward to lead the race. Had a tendency to hang in at various stages of the event and contacting marker posts. A warning was issued against the mare.
Race 8 - HYGAIN FEEDS PACE (SKY 2) 1780M
Financially Stable - Inclined to hang in at various stages of the event.
English Dance - Having not started in a race since December 2023 and in accordance with QRIC guidelines, the gelding was examined before and after the race by the veterinarian which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
Alabama Miss - After satisfying QRIC requirements the mare will be placed back in the draw in mobile events.
Hanover Lecter - After satisfying QRIC requirements the mare will be placed back in the draw in mobile events.
Dattitude - Raced three wide in the early stages of the event, obtaining the position outside the leader approaching the 1200m.
Race 9 - MAZDA ASPLEY 0 TO 3 WINS PACE (SKY 2) 1780M
This Yankee Rocks - Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess off 68m. Connections were advised the gelding will be placed on its last chance to race competitively.
True OriginsCommenced a three wide run around the 1300m, working forward to race outside the leader approaching the 950m, gaining cover shortly after.
Amillionchances – Raced wide in the early stages of the event to work forward and obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 1500m. Had a tendency to race fiercely in the latter stages of the event.
Pumpkin Pat - Raced wide in the early stages of the event before restraining to a midfield trailing position.
Lady Allegra - Commenced a three wide run around the 1300m to work forward and obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 900m.
Race 10 - REDCLIFFE - THE BETTER BET PACE (SKY 2) 1780M
Beach On Fire - Contacted marker post entering the home straight on the final occasion. Driver Leonard Cain reprimanded AHR Rule 163 (1)(c)(ii).
Millwood Brooklyn NZ - Slow to score up and was out of position at the start. Connections were advised the filly will be placed out of the draw for future mobile starts.
