Due to the inclement weather, Stewards ordered that mudguards and splash sheets be fitted.

Race 1 - STU VALENTINE FOR BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE UP TO NR75 PACE  2040M

Rocktime gave ground from the 500 metres.

Stompem NZ surrendered the lead after 300 metres. 

Merge Right worked forward to the lead after 300 metres.

King Of Trumps NZ raced three wide for the first 350 metres whilst working forward to take over the position leading the one wide line. Gained a one out one back trail shortly thereafter.

Despondent raced wide whilst working forward to lead the one wide line from the 1650 metres.

Uncle Miki was held up and inconvenienced behind a tiring runner in the back straight on the final occasion.

Race 2 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE  1780M

Luxury Lad withstood an early challenge for the lead.

Ollie Ollie failed to gain a clear run to the finish – untested.

My Ultimate Victor issued a short unsuccessful challenge for the lead. Gained a one out one back trail near the 1200 metres.

Rock Nien commenced a three wide run from the rear of the field near the 650 metres.

Reds Star Deal commenced a three wide run from a rearward position near the 1350 metres to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1200 metres. Placed back in the mobile barrier draw having satisfied the QRIC requirements.

Hes Sweet contacted a marker peg on the first turn. Had a tendency to hang in throughout – a warning was issued. Completed the race having broken its tongue tie. 

Race 3 - LADBROKES ODDS SURGE PACE    1780M

Risk Taker led throughout. Shifted out under pressure in the run to the finish.  

Cornish Smuggler led the one wide prior to gaining a one out one back trail near the 1250 metres at which stage it contacted the inside sulky wheel of the runner which was working forward three wide. Commenced to severely over race when covered by three wide runners near the 600 metres. Commenced to give ground shortly thereafter to finish in last place beaten 76 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities however exhibited a slow recovery rate.

Prince Joy commenced a three wide run from a rearward position near the 850 metres. 

Kerbang three wide one back from the 1400 metres then worked forward three wide from the 150 metres to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 950 metres

Scruffy NZ raced three wide whilst working forward to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1250 metres. Gained a one out one back trail near the 950 metres. Advanced to the inside of the leader which had shifted out under pressure in the run to the finish. Placed back in the mobile barrier draw having satisfied the QRIC requirements.

Lord Memnock three wide one back from the 850 metres.

Mount Hercules was held up for clear running until finishing strongly along the sprint lane.

General

Stewards questioned Nathan Dawson, driver of Scruffy NZ, and Damon Watson driver of Cornish Smuggler, regarding the reason for Cornish Smuggler momentarily racing roughly near the 1300 metres. After taking evidence from the drivers, viewing the official race videos and giving regard to their own observations, Stewards issued Mr Dawson a charge under the provisions of AHRR168(1)(a). Details of the charge were that near the 1300 metres, when three wide to the outside of Cornish Smuggler, Mr Dawson failed to make sufficient effort to prevent Scruffy NZ from shifting in, resulting in contact to Cornish Smuggler which momentarily raced roughly as a result.  Mr Dawson pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $200.   

Race 4 - STEVIE REDBACK PEST CONTROL PACE    2040M

Mega Star over raced throughout whilst leading prior to commencing to give ground from the 400 metres to be beaten in excess of 35 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Having considered that the gelding had similarly over raced at its previous start Stewards placed a warning on it and advised connections to take whatever measures they see fit in order to have the gelding race more tractably to finish off its races in future.  

Pretty Little Liar led the one wide line prior to gaining a one out one back trail near the 1650 metres.

Diego Delgado worked forward three wide to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1650 metres. 

Race 5 – DRIVER OF THE NIGHT - MATT ELKINS PACE   1780M

Jimmy Joyce led the one line prior to gaining a one out one back trail after 300 metres.

Favreau raced three wide whilst working forward to take over the position leading the one wide line near the worked forward the wide to take over the position leading the one wide line after 1300 metres.

Wichita Dance worked forward the wide to take over the position leading the one wide line after 300 metres.

Flo Ryda NZ utilised the sprint lane to finish fourth.

A Perfect Dance utilised the sprint lane to finish second. 

Race 6 - MEMBERS DRAW WINNER - HENRY DUNLOP PACE  1780M

Isla And Addie led the one wide line prior to gaining a one out one back trail near the 1400 metres.

Shez All Style worked forward three wide to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1400 metres.  

Western Showgirl commenced a three wide run from a rearward position near the 650 metres. 

Treacherous Gabby three wide one back from the 650 metres.

Race 7 – REDCLIFFE LEAGUES CLUB 1 WIN PACE    1780M

Ebony Belle surrendered the lead near the 1400 metres.

The Real Vanessa was held up and inconvenienced by a tiring runner on the final turn finished only moderately once clear.

Dahrlinn led the one wide line then commenced to give ground from the 350 metres.

My Ultimate Cossie worked forward three wide to take over the lead near the 1400 metres. 

Dream Melody was held up and inconvenienced behind runners giving ground on the final turn – finished only moderately once clear.

Financial Burden had a tendency to over race throughout the early and middle stages. 

Race 8 - DARREN EBERT & CO PACE   1780M

Punters Jewel raced roughly momentarily as the start was effected – placed on its last chance in the draw in mobile barrier races. Utilised the sprint lane to finish fifth.

My Secret Beach briefly led the one line prior to dropping in to the trailing position behind the leader. Utilised the sprint lane to finish fourth.

Sals Last Blast left leading the one wide line early then gained a one out one back trail near the 1350 metres.

Doolittle Dexter raced three wide whilst working forward to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1350 metres. Gained the one out one back trail near the 1000 metres.

Digby Demon shifted in only slightly contacted marker pegs on the first turn.

Blissfull Identity raced three wide one back then worked forward three wide to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1000 metres. 

Race 9 - HYGAIN FEEDS PACE   1780M

Heavens Baby led the one wide line prior to gaining a one out one back trail near the 1200 metres.

Matai Reactor momentarily locked sulky stays with the sulky of the runner to its inside which was hanging out under pressure.  

Tackas Last Dance was held up for clear running until finishing strongly once clear. 

Dixiedolittle commenced a three wide run from one out one back near the 1300 metres, whilst over racing, to work forward to take over the position leading the one wide line. The mare continued to over race throughout the middle stages. Raced roughly for a short distance near the 550 metres. Hung out under pressure in the run to the finish, momentarily locking sulky stays with the sulky to its outside – a warning was issued.

Race 10 - MAZDA ASPLEY MAIDEN PACE   1780M

Allshecanbe gave ground over the concluding stages – no action taken due the rain affected track and the filly’s relative inexperience.

Ultimate Ark broke in the score up and was out of position when the start was effected – placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races. Had a tendency to race greenly at various stages of the race. Completed the race with it head check bit out of its mouth.

Punters Princess gave ground over the concluding stages – no action taken due the rain affected track and the filly’s relative inexperience.
