The sprint lane was in operation at tonight’s event.

Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1 – LADBROKES ODDS SURGE PACE – 2050MS

A warning placed on BETTER BROTHER (W Hill) which galloped after entering back straight final when commencing a run three wide then eased to take a trail through its head in the air and became unbalanced.

RACE 2 – FRANK BORG FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS PACE – 1609MS

No claims lodged.

ODINS BLACK CROWS (L Ryan) raced fiercely in the score up and thereafter pulled hard. Trainers R. & T. Hoare advised warning issued.

A post-race veterinary examination of NEDS BEACH (R Moore) revealed abrasion on off fore neck and Trainer advised gelding stood down for six days.

RACE 3 – JC PLUMBING & GAS PACE - 2050MS

FUMIA REACTOR (S Pascoe) which was excluded from draw at Globe Derby Park 26th October 2024, started from extreme outside of front line.

LADY VEE (W Hill) galloped in the score up. Subsequent to the race Trainer Luke O’Neill advised that LADY VEE would now be retired.

RACE 4 – KAUSCHKE'S DISCOUNT PAINTS PACE – 1609MS

The nearside spreader broke on CHRISLYNN (W Hill) approaching turn off back straight first occasion. Gear inspected and found to be in good condition.

Reinsperson Danielle Hill (LOCHINVAR CAMARO) cautioned for allowing minimal room when crossing GIVE US A WINK (B Loades) shortly after the start.R163 (1) (a)

A post-race veterinary examination of WITH AUTHORITY (C Johnson) which was eased out of the event after galloping approaching turn out of the back straight after the start revealed it to have a minor laceration to near fore heel. Trainer advised gelding must complete a satisfactory trial prior to being eligible for a race.

RACE 5 – SPENCER MOTOR COMPANY 2&3YO PACE – 1609MS

SPORTSFLIGHT (L Ryan) was retired from the event after breaking a crupper shortly after the start. Gear inspected and found to be in good condition

RACE 6 – FIVE540 SERVICES PACE - 1609MS

GENERAL

Trainer Mario Borg who has taken over the training of Per Ardua Ad Astra following it competing in the 2024 Ladbrokes South Australian Pacing Cup at Globe Derby Park on Saturday 26th October 2024 advised that a veterinary examination of the gelding on Monday 28th October 2024 did not find any abnormalities. Blood specimens were taken for analysis and Stewards will be advised should anything of significance is detected.
