The sprint lane was in operation at tonights event.
Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.
RACE 1 – NC EQUINE TROTTERS HANDICAP– 2050SS
BARHOON (D Hill) which commenced poorly and trailed the field thereafter will be excluded from the draw in future standing start races.
BUCKLES (D Smith) was inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
RACE 2 – HYGAIN PACE – 2050MS
Reinsperson Michael Smith (TONKAWAIKON) was fined $100 under R162(1)(y) for whilst leading the first half of the last mile setting a time of 64.5 seconds which is outside the prescribed time of 64 seconds.
Reinsperson Michael Smith (TONKAWAIKON) was reprimanded for contacting and dislodging a marker peg leaving the front straight on the first occasion.
Reinsperson Kevin Weidenbach (FLETCHAS ROY) was advised not to perform a preliminary lap on the marker pegs.
RACE 3 – MUSCLE M UP USA @ TRUMP BLOODSTOCK TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2050SS
ILLAWONG MOONBEAM (M Smith) which was leading galloped leaving the front straight after the start and a warning was issued.
Reinsperson Wayne Hill (WISHING STAR) was reminded to ensure he returns his foot to the sulky rest in a more timely manner after the start.
RACE 4 – SPENCER MOTOR COMPANY PACE– 1609MS
A post race veterinary examination of CELESTIAL DAYBREAK (K Weidenbach) which had led the race before giving ground at the 400 metres to be beaten 64 metres revealed an elevated heart rate.
A post race veterinary examination of PIRATESOF ZANZIBAR (B Loizeau) revealed a minor laceration to the tongue of the gelding.
RACE 5– LAUCKE FEED PACE - 1609MS
JAMAICAN ROCK (A Robinson) which raced roughly in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position at the start will be excluded from the draw in future mobile barrier races.
JAMAICAN ROCK raced fiercely in the front straight first occasion.
When questioned if it was his intention to race on the pegs approaching the turn out of the back straight shortly after the start Anthony Robinson (JAMAICAN ROCK) stated whilst Matthew Harding (BEAUDIENE ROCKNROLL) was racing to his outside JAMAICAN ROCK had hung in allowing Harding the position one off.
A warning placed on DIDMESELFAMISCHIEF (D Whelan) which hung inwards on the home turn final occasion and dislodged marker pegs.
RACE 6 – ALEX’S MEAT PACE – 1609MS
When questioned in respect to the performance of $1.30 favourite ISLAND CAESAR, driver Wayne Hill was at a loss to explain the performance which saw the gelding beaten 14 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities and trainer Naomi Kerr was to advise should anything arise post race.
RACE 7 – MIDSTATE HARDWARE PACE – 1609MS
WINSTON ALEXANDER (T Mumford) which galloped shortly after the start will be excluded from the draw in future mobile barrier races.
MISS IDAHO (A Robinson) was tightened for room between KAHINA (B Page) and ULTIMATE ROCKER (M Smith) shortly after the start as a result of KAHINA shifting away from the galloping WINSTON ALEXANDER (T Mumford) and ULTIMATE ROCKER (M Smith) which hung inwards despite the efforts of the driver.
A post race veterinary examination of MISS IDAHO (A Robinson) $1.33 favourite which after being obliged to race without cover was beaten 24 metres, revealed an elevated heart rate and a minor abrasion to the off hind. Trainer Dale Afford is to advise should anything arise post race.
IM JIMMY JAMES (D Hill) contacted and dislodged a marker peg approaching the home turn first occasion however, when racing it had MISS IDAHO racing tight to its outside.
RACE 8 – SD CAPUTO & SONS PACE – 1609MS
BLING IT UP (T Mumford) hung inwards shortly after the start and tightened the racing room of BACK IN TWENTY (K Weidenbach) which in turn crowded SCOOB OPERATOR (W Hill).
Shortly after this incident SCOOB OPERATOR (W Hill) and BACK IN TWENTY (K Weidenbach) were tightened for room as DELIGHTFUL MAJOR (B Page) allowed minimal room only when crossing. Stewards reprimanded B Page under R163(1)(a)(i) for shifting ground. The whip of Wayne Hill became caught in the hopples of BACK IN TWENTY and dropped out of his hand in the incident.
Reinsperson Todd Mumford (BLING IT UP) was fined $50 under R163(1)(c) for contacting marker pegs on home turn final occasion.
RACE 9 – LADBROKE IT! PACE – 1609MS
A warning placed on JILLIBY SOVEREIGN (W Hill) which was out of position in the score up.
CALL ME SIR (S Pascoe) was obliged to race wide throughout despite the efforts of the driver to obtain a forward position.
