Stewards Report

Port Pirie Tuesday 3rd December 2024

The sprint lane was in operation for tonights event.

Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1– BIG CHIEF HIRE PACE - 1609MS

WINSTON ALEXANDER (T Mumford) hung outwards contacting the sulky of CHARMING MAJOR (D Whelan) and broke gait on the home turn severely checking CHARMING MAJOR and JOONIOR BROWN (S Hill).Trainer Leah Holman was advised the gelding will be stood down until it completes a satisfactory trial.

RACE 2  BIRRELL HEAVY TILT & TRANSPORT  PACE –1609MS

JILLIBY MISTRESS underwent a veterinary examination prior to the race as it raced at Globe Derby Park 2nd December 2024. Passed fit to race

Reinspersons Wayne Hill (BOSS MAJOR) and Ashleigh Dunkley (HARRO HILL) were fined $50 each under R162(1)(i) for failing to be in position at candy pole.

RACE 3– LADBROKES PUNTER ASSIST PACE – 2050MS

Stewards delayed All Clear to ascertain if GLOBAL GEM (S Hill) had been given a fair start. After reviewing video of the start the all clear was given as GLOBAL GEM after galloping in the score up was then unable to gain its ground and the start was affected.  GLOBAL GEM will be excluded from draw in future mobile starts.

Start was delayed when MODS (C Johnson) left the track to replace the extension on the sulky.

MODS galloped in score up and will continue to be excluded from draw.

OHOKA AGENT (Tony Pullicino) hung inwards entering front straight final occasion and dislodged marker peg.

RACE 4 – KAUSCHKE’S DISCOUNT PAINT PACE– 1609MS

SPORTSFLIGHT (L Holman) was reinstated in draw future mobile barrier start races.

RACE 5 – O’NEILLS HORSE TRANSPORT PACE – 2050MS

BUTTERCUP underwent a veterinary examination prior to the race as it raced at Globe Derby Park 2nd December 2024. Passed fit to race

RACE 6 – KNIBBS OUTDOOR IMPROVEMENTS PACERS HANDICAP  - 2050SS

THE CRIMSON PRINCE (B Loizeau) refused to step away and will continue to be excluded from draw.

PREMONITION (R Hryhorec) hung inwards on the home turn final occasion tightening the ground of  BLING IT UP (T Mumford) and a warning was issued.

A post-race veterinary examination of VAN MARA (S Hill) revealed no abnormalities.
