RACE 1 – TOM YOUNG CONCRETING PACE – 1660 metres

NIKALONG MINT – Held up in home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.

KUDOS MASON – Pre-race sample. Galloped in the early stages of the score up however regained its correct barrier position by the start. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding. Post-race sample.

HARLEY JAMES – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding attaining the age of 12 years. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Checked at the winning post with one lap to travel due to CELEBRITY CRUISE galloping.

CELEBRITY CRUISE – At the winning post with one lap to travel contacted the sulky of SEEMESHINEYHEELS and then galloped. Upon inquiry it was established that at this stage of race the speed of the race decreased in the two wide line resulting in a reaction of runners easing the speed in the running line. No further action was taken other than to note the circumstances of the incident.

BATED BREATHE – Over-raced during the early and middle stages of the event.

SEEMESHINEYHEELS – Sulky contacted at the winning post with one lap to travel from CELEBRITY CRUISE, when that runner was trailing SEEMESHINEYHEELS, due to the speed of the race in the two wide line easing at that stage. As a result of the contact to the inside sulky wheel of SEEMESHINEYHEELS the mare was retired from the event racing down the back straight on the final occasion due to a flat tyre. 

ALLEGRETTO – Re-included into the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 2 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1660 metres

PINK SCOOTER – Pre-race sample.

SAUCEY TOOTH – Inconvenienced racing around the first turn when SHES NO HONEY galloped.

SHES NO HONEY – After showing gate speed galloped racing around the first turn. Inconvenienced SAUCEY TOOTH and MISS ARDELETHAN to varying degrees. Took no competitive part in the event thereafter and a warning was placed on the racing manners of SHES NO HONEY.

MISS ARDELTHAN – Post-race sample. Inconvenienced racing around the first turn when SHES NO HONEY galloped. Driver Trent Pilon was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip to his drive with a hand that was free of the rein on multiple occasions.

TULHURST JANET – Driver Phoebe Betts explained that after working forward after the start and gaining the position outside of the leader she elected to hold that position when challenged by TWISTED MISTRESS due to the work endured by that runner during the early and middle stages of the event when racing three wide. Miss Betts also added that TULHURST JANET has performed well when racing outside of the leader and after gaining the position easy felt confident in holding out a challenge.

TWISTED MISTRESS – Driver Emma Turnbull was questioned in relation to her runner being positioned three wide during the entire of the event before giving ground to be beaten 36m. Miss Turnbull advised that after being caught racing three wide rounding the first turn, she felt that the position outside of the leader would be available from TULHURST JANET. Miss Turnbull advised that once progressing forward leaving the 1200m it appeared that the position outside of the leader was not available and TWISTED MISTRESS was obliged to race three wide thereafter. Once in the three wide position Miss Turnbull did not apply pressure to the leaders and due to the distance remaining to race and allowed her runner to continue to race three wide.

 

RACE 3 – TELESCOPE TYRES PACE – 1660 metres

GRINFARON – Pre-race sample.

LOOKOUT NZ – Held up in home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.

DARK LUSTRE – Post-race sample.

 

RACE 4 – LANGLANDS HANLON PACE – 2040 metres

General – The start of this race was delayed due to The Meadows greyhounds Race 4 running behind schedule. Stewards delayed the All Clear to allow them the opportunity to view the available replays of BARLOR HEAVEN (winner) galloping racing around the first turn. After viewing the replays Stewards were satisfied that Driver Jye Coney meet his obligations under Rule 154(1), which reads, If a horse breaks gait during a race, its driver shall take immediate action to avoid interference with other runners and without gaining an unfair advantage restrain the horse to its correct gait before rejoining the race without interference to another runner. In that by directing his drive when in a gallop off the racing surface to inside the marker peg line and restraining to the rear of the field before then rejoining the main body of the field when in the correct gait. All Clear was then sounded on the Judges numbers.

KARLOO DEEZER – Inconvenienced racing around the first turn when BARLOR HEAVEN galloped. Over-raced during the early and middle stages of the event before being held up in the early stages of the home straight for clear racing room.

BARLOR HEAVEN – Post-race sample. Galloped free of interference racing around the first turn causing inconvenience to KARLOO DEEZER. A warning was issued against the racing manners of BARLOR HEAVEN.

A DUSTY DANCE – Pre-race sample. Held up in home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.

LINE ME UP BRO NZ – Pre-race sample. Held up in home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.

 

RACE 5 – QUICKSHINE CARWASH PACE – 2040 metres

YARRAMAN KAYLOU – Tightened for racing room momentarily at the 1900m when SNAKESKIN hung in. Gave ground to be beaten 50m.

BETABRO – Pre-race sample.

SNAKESKIN – Post- race sample. Hung in for a short distance at the 1900m and tightened the racing room of YARRAMAN KAYLOU racing to the inside.

 

RACE 6 – COACHMAN HOTEL 2YO PACE – 1660 metres

TULHURST TOOT TOOT – Pre-race sample.

SMOOTH CHAKRA – Paced roughly leaving the back straight on the final occasion.

HESKOALATEE – Inconvenienced when MAMMALS BLAZE galloped racing around the first turn.

SOMETHING FOR LEXY – Post-race swab.

MAMMALS BLAZE – Galloped free of interference racing around the first turn resulting in HESKOALATEE and LAST FLITE being inconvenienced. MAMMELS BLAZE was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

LAST FLITE – Inconvenienced when MAMMALS BLAZE galloped racing around the first turn.

 

RACE 7 –MEDLYNS/CASTROL PACE – 2040 metres

CERISE RAINBOW – Galloped out and was placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Over-raced during the early and middle stages of the event. Held up in home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.

BEYONDREASON – Post-race sample. Driver Jason Turnbull contributed the improved performance to being able to lead the event and being advantaged by the 2:06.1 mile rate recorded.

FULL OF SPICE – Pre-race sample. Held up in the early stages of the home straight for clear racing room.

ITSALADY – Over-raced during the early and middle stages and hung in at the 300m.

PIPPA CHEER – Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 8 – FUN & FIREWORKS NEW YEARS EVE PACE – 2040 metres

DOING – Post-race swab.

OUR GLADIATOR –Inconvenienced racing down the front straight on the first occasion when CHASIN YOU paced roughly in the two wide line.

CHASIN YOU – Paced roughly racing down the front straight on the first occasion when positioned in the two wide line and inconvenienced OUR GLADIATOR.

ZULU ZANE – (8th/ 20m/ $1.90) Pre-race sample. Over-raced when position outside of the leader during the early and middle stages. Driver John Downey explained that after being caught wide in the early stages of the event ZULU BLAZE began to over race and failed to settle throughout. Mr Downey advised that he may look to make the necessary gear adjustments prior to the geldings next race start to prevent the gelding from over racing. Mr Downey added that this was the first time ZULU BLAZE had been in a reasonable sized field and that the gelding only being trialling in small fields which may have also resulted in the gelding becoming fierce in its racing manners.

 

RACE 9 – TAB.COM.AU PACE – 1660 metres

GIRL JUST FLY – Pre-race sample.

SUNNYWITHACHANCE – Held up in the early stages of the home straight for clear racing room.

ALLHEARTNOHEIGHT– Over-raced during the early and middle stages of the event.

JOSEY MINT – Post-race swab.
