RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2125 metres

The start of this event was delayed to enable debris which had blown onto the track to be removed.

WILD CARD NZ– Over raced during the middle stages when leading.

MIZZZ ADELE– Checked passing the 400 metres when held up behind GREY CADILLAC which commenced to give ground.

RIPSTONE SNORTER– Driver Cameron Hart was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 9th placing beaten 42 metres ($6.50).  Mr Hart explained he attributed the performance to the constant speed throughout and RIPSTONE SNORTER being three wide from the 800 metres onwards.  A post-race veterinary examination of RIPSTONE SNORTER failed to reveal any significant findings.

PLAYFUL MISS– Post-race swab sample.

MAJOR ICON NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Trainer/driver Seaton Grima was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 6th placing beaten 29 metres ($4.20).  Mr Grima explained that he was relatively satisfied with performance of MAJOR ICON NZ considering the constant speed throughout and MAJOR ICON NZ was positioned three wide without cover from the 1000 metres.  Mr Grima further added the gelding laboured rounding the final turn, however upon straightening finished off in a promising manner.  A post-race veterinary examination of MAJOR ICON NZ failed to reveal any significant findings.

 

RACE 2 – THE BARTIERIAN BOLT PACE – 1720 metres

ROCKIN GEMMA– Pre-race blood sample.  Broke during the score up, was out of position at the start and a warning was issued.  Driver Will Rixon was spoken to regarding his actions in attempting to return ROCKIN GEMMA to its correct gait which checked THE BEST OF YOU and ROCKSIE ROCK during the middle stages of the score up and advised that he must make all efforts to prevent interference whilst his drive is in a gallop.

JUST HOME GROWN NZ– Over raced during the middle stages when leading.

BETTER HARLEY– Post-race swab sample.

TIGERS SPIRIT– Held up inside the final 200 metres.

THE BEST OF YOU– Checked during the middle stages of the score up when ROCKIN GEMMA broke gait.

ROCKSIE ROCK– Checked during the middle stages of the score up when ROCKIN GEMMA broke gait.

 

RACE 3 – THE CHUBB STAKES PACE – 1720 metres

DARK TERROR– Paced roughly during the score up.

POLKA DELIGHT NZ– Pre-race blood sample.

ERUPT STRIDE NZ– Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – GSA CONNECT CUP – 1720 metres

CHARLIES ACE NZ– Pre-race blood sample.

ROLL WITH SLOY– Held up rounding the home turn in the early part of the straight.

RYANS GANGSTER– Held up inside the final 200 metres and as a result was not fully tested.

MARATHON MAN NZ– Held up rounding the home turn in the early part of the home straight.

OUR UNCLE JIM– Pre-race blood sample.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed blood to be present in one nostril.  In accordance with Rule 101B(2) OUR UNCLE JIM will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion.

 

RACE 5 – ELANTIS OPEN PACE – 1720 metres

DILETTO– Held up inside the final 200 metres and as a result was not fully tested.

KEILOR BABY SHARK– Sustained a flat tyre approaching the 400 metres as JAKCAM FLYER improved to its inside resulting in JAKCAM FLYER being tightened making contact with the inside sulky wheel of KEILOR BABY SHARK.

DOUGS FLAME– Driver Will Rixon was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that approaching the 1400 metres he permitted DOUGS FLAME to shift in momentarily tightening JAKCAM FLYER

JAKCAM FLYER– Tightened and contacted the sulky of KEILOR BABY SHARK approaching the 400 metres when attempting to improve to the inside of that runner.

PEACE OF HEAVEN NZ– Tightened passing the 1400 metres as a result of DOUGS FLAME shifting in.  Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.

SWEDISH MEATBALLS– Pre-race blood sample.  Held up inside the final 200 metres and as a result was not fully tested.

 

RACE 6 – 360 OCEANIC CHAMPIONSHIP PACE – 1720 metres

CROWN MOJO– Pre-race blood sample.

PRINCE POTTER– Post-race swab sample.

LANI KAI BEACH– Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.

TEAM OF STARZZZ– Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.

TIMELY SOVEREIGN– Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.  Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.

ULTIMATE AD– Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.

RUM DELIGHT NZ– Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.

 

Following the running of this event numerous drivers who had competed in this event expressed concerns regarding visibility due to the prevailing weather conditions.  After a number of senior drivers were interviewed Stewards determined that the remaining races (7 & 8) be postponed due to the visibility concerns noting that continued rain was forecast.

 

RACE 7 – NEW HAVEN HARNESS PACE – 1720 metres

Race abandoned.

 

RACE 8 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres
