RACE 1 – HALLOWEEN @ CLUB PACEWAY NOV 1 TROTTERS MOBILE – 2125 metres

ELLOWEN – Galloped clear of interference leaving the front straight with one lap to travel. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the mare. TROT TO CHEVRON was inconvenienced with KYVALLEY FINN and SALLY EM being checked.

TROT TO CHEVRON NZ – Inconvenienced and forced wider on the track when ELLOWEN galloped leaving the front straight with one lap to travel. Hung in and trotted roughly between the 400m and 200m, resulting in Driver George Lee being unable to shift that runner wider at that stage. A warning was placed against the racing manners of the gelding.

KYVALLEY FINN – Checked when ELLOWEN galloped leaving the front straight with one lap to travel. Hung in and contacted marker pegs rounding the final turn. Held up in the run to the finish and unable to be fully tested at any stage.

SALLY EM –Checked when ELLOWEN galloped leaving the front straight with one lap to travel. Post-race sample.

PARIS SKIES – Pre-race sample.Galloped clear of interference racing around the first turn. PARIS SKIES was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial. 

 

RACE 2 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres

WINAMOTZA - Driver Glenn McElhinney was reprimanded for causing interference after momentarily inconveniencing and tightening the racing room of LOCHART SHARD NZ racing around thefirst turn.

HOT EMBERS – After leading into the home straight shifted out under pressure against the efforts of Driver Brad Elder, therefore allowing a run along the marker pegs for ARTISTIC ANNA (winner). A warning was issued against the racing manners of HOT EMBERS as Stewards were satisfied that Mr Elder had made every attempt to direct HOT EMBERS back down to a marker peg position, when that runner initially shifted. It was noted Brad Elder momentarily dropped his left foot from the sulky foot rest when activating gear. Mr Elder was advised to make the necessary adjustments to the sulky to prevent a similar occurrence.

IDEAL COPY – Gave ground leaving the 600m before then tiring to be beaten 78m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities that would contribute to the performance. IDEAL COPY was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial. 

LOCHART SHARD NZ – Hung in during the latter stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of the gelding. Momentarily inconvenienced and tightened for racing room racing around the first turn.

ARTISTIC ANNA – Pre-race sample. Held up in the early stages of the home straight for a clear run before obtaining an unimpeded run along the marker pegs when HOT EMBERS shifted out under pressure. Post-race sample.

 

RACE 3 – MELB CUP @ CLUB PACEWAY NOV 5 PACE – 1720 metres

TERRAGONG SWINGER – Gave ground at the 600m before tiring to be beaten 63m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities that would contribute to the performance. TERRAGONG SWINGER was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial. 

GO TESS GO – Pre-race sample.

WHISKEY ROYALE – Post-race sample.

 

RACE 4 – BINGO@ CLUB PACEWAY EVERY WEDNESDAY PACE – 1720 metres

ROCKING LOU – Galloped in the score up, failed to participate in the score up and was placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

SPOT ON NZ – Pre-race sample. Checked leaving the front straight with one lap to travel when CLEMENTSORRELL jumped an object on the track.

TOP THE ACE – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Pre-race sample. Checked and paced roughly leaving the front straight with one lap to travel when CLEMENTSORRELLjumped an object on the track. Driver Allan Forrest was questioned in regards to the driving tactics adopted on the gelding during the early and middle stages of the event. Mr Forrest explained that when being caught racing three wide in the early stages he initially attempted to restrain towards the rear of the field, however TOP THE ACE began to race fierce and therefore he allowed that runner to progress forward three wide. Mr Forrest added that it appear the runner racing outside of leaderSPOT ON NZwas looking for cover. Mr Forrest added that once he gained the position in the two wide line he did prefer to gain cover whenCLEMENTSORRELwas improving around him, although TOP THE ACE continued to over-race and raced without cover for a short distance further until then gaining cover approaching the winning post. The comments of Mr Forrest were noted however he was advised to make the necessary gear adjustments to prevent a similar performance from his runner.   

CLEMENTSORRELL – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding attaining the age of 13yrs & starting in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Jumped an object on the track leaving the front straight with one lap to travel.SPOT ON NZ was checked andTOP THE ACEwas checked and paced roughly. Driver Cameron Hart explained that his drive was caught racing four wide during the early stages due to TOP THE ACEimproving three wide to his inside, when he felt he had an advantage on that runner. Mr Hart added that his drive was placed at a disadvantage during this stage when having to work harder than anticipated racing four wide and then having to be driven along when racing three wide to improve past TOP THE ACE,after that runner was directed to the two wide line at the 1000m. Mr Hart advised that due to the work endured during the early and middle stages when having to race wide had a bearing on the finishing position of CLEMENTSORRELL.

LANI KAI BEACH – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.

OURSURFINSAFARI – Checked in the early stages of the score up when ROCKING LOU galloped.

JOGALONG BLUE – Hung in when racing three wide leaving the front straight with one lap to travel and then commenced to give ground before tiring to be beaten 60m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a higher than normal heart rate and no other obvious abnormalities. JOGALONG BLUE was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory performance.

 

RACE 5 – MAJOR OAK @ CLUB PACEWAY PACE – 1720 metres

NIGHTWATCH STAR – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Post-race sample.

LITTLE CESSNA – Pre-race sample. Gave ground over the concluding stages.

BETTOR BE LUCKY – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Inconvenienced and unable to improve its position over the final lap when trailing runners which were giving ground.

SLINGSHOT – Checked behind the tiring VAN GOGH leaving the front straight with one lap to travel.Galloped clear of interference in the home straight on the final occasion and a warning was issued.

DELIGHTFUL BELLA – Checked behind the tiring VAN GOGH leaving the front straight with one lap to travel.

VAN GOGH – Began to tire leaving the front straight with one lap to travel.SLINGSHOT andDELIGHTFUL BELLAwere checked and taken back through the field. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities and connections were advised that VAN GOGH would be stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

 

RACE 6 – CRYSTAL FEST @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND NOV 9 & 10 LADYSHIP PACE– 1720 metres

General – The All Clear for this event was delayed to allow Driver Robert Morris (CHARLIES ACE – 2nd placegetter)the opportunity to view the available replays of the home straight. After viewing the replays Mr Morris elected not to proceed with a protest and All Clear was announced on the Judges numbers.

ASCOT SHOWTIME – After leading into the home straight shifted out under pressure and locked wheels with CHARLIES ACE, which had progressed to the inside of ASCOT SHOWTIME. Post-race sample.

MY LADY SARAH – Tightened for racing room in the home straight on the final occasion.

ROSE NOIRE NZ – Pre-race sample. Fractious in the early stages of the score up before regaining its barrier position at the start. ROSE NOIRE NZ was placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw.

WEAREALLALONE – Tightened in the home straight on the final occasion.

CHARLIES ACE NZ – Held up in the early stages of the home for clear racing room, before obtaining an inside run along the marker pegs when ASCOT SHOWTIME shifted out. Locked wheels with ASCOT SHOWTIME close to the finish line.

HEAVENLY BELLE – Tightened for racing room in the home straight on the final occasion.

TIGER TOMMY NZ – Driver Will Rixon was found guilty of a charge under Rule 170(4)(b), the particulars being that shortly after the start Mr Rixon allowed his right foot to drop from the sulky foot rest and be placed in the vicinity of the hind leg of TIGER TOMMY NZ for an extended distance. Mr Rixon was fined $200 and in assessing the circumstances of the breach, Stewards were satisfied that Mr Rixon’s right foot did not come into contact with TIGER TOMMY NZ at any stage.

POLKA DELIGHT NZ – Driver Zara Fitzpatrick was issued with a reprimand for causing interference in the home straight on the final occasion. The movement of Miss Fitzpatrick wider on the track tightened the racing room MY LADY SARAH, WEAREALLALONE and HEAVENLY BELLE.

 

RACE 7 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 2125 metres

BE MY ROCK – Over-raced during the early and middle stages of the event.

WINGMAN LOU – Post-race swab.

AGIFTFROMTHEANGELS – Pre-race swab.

 

RACE 8 – XTREME BULLS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND NOV 23 PACE – 2125 metres

WEONA SIR VIVOR – Post-race sample.

PERCY BAILEY – Pre-race sample.

SELSEY BILL – Checked and unable to improve its position between the 400m and 200m behind runners that were not progressing forward.
