ETIZ AMODEL – Stewards questioned Driver C. Hart in regards to the driving tactics adopted on the mare in particular the reasons for shifting to the marker pegs near the 1600 metres from a position one out one back. C. Hart stated that after obtaining the position behind YARRAMAN MARKLE in the early stages of the event he elected to shift to the marker pegs as he was of the opinion that with that runner over-racing it may work forward to lead and leave him racing without cover which doesn’t suit his mare and furthermore if he was to remain trailing YARRAMAN MARKLE due to its racing manners it would weaken and as a result he would be obliged to move three wide earlier then he would have liked. C. Hart further added that when moving to the marker pegs he was also of the opinion that he was trailing the 2 main chances in the race also. Stewards noted the comments.
