RACE 2 – MAJOR OAK THEATRE RESTAUANT @ CLUB PACEWAY PACE – 1720 metres

GENERAL– Consideration was given to a protest lodged by Will Rixon, trainer’s representative of second placed DENNY ROCKS alleging interference against first placed SOLAR EXPRESS over the concluding stages.  After hearing submissions from Mr Rixon, taking evidence from drivers Hannah Rixon (DENNY ROCKS), Sean Grayling (SOLAR EXPRESS) and review of the available replays it was established that approaching the 100 metres DENNY ROCKS attempted to improve between SOLAR EXPRESS and SIR SIMON where shortly after SOLAR EXPRESS shifted outwards resulting in DENNY ROCKS being disappointed for this run.  As Stewards were satisfied at the point SOLAR EXPRESS initially commenced to shift out DENNY ROCKS had not established a run to the outside of SOLAR EXPRESS the protest was dismissed and all clear was subsequently given.

Further consideration was given to a protest lodged by Jake Bigeni driver of third placed SIR SIMON alleging interference against second placed DENNY ROCKS over the concluding stages.  After taking evidence from drivers Jake Bigeni (SIR SIMON), Hannah Rixon (DENNY ROCKS) and review of the available replays it was established that as a consequence of SOLAR EXPRESS shifting outwards approaching the 100 metres it resulted in DENNY ROCKS being taken wider and SIR SIMON being inconvenienced. As Stewards were satisfied that DENNY ROCKS was not the cause of the interference the protest was dismissed.  Mr Bigeni was subsequently reminded of his obligations under Rule 178 with respect to lodging a protest which may be deemed to be frivolous and advised that should a repetition occur he may be subject to penalty.

SOLAR EXPRESS– Driver Sean Grayling was fined $200 under Rule 162(1)(www) in that over the concluding stages he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent SOLAR EXPRESS from shifting out which resulted in DENNY ROCKS and SIR SIMON being inconvenienced over the concluding stages.  Post-race swab sample.

MAJOR JELLIS NZ– Checked after locking wheels with DARK TERROR passing the 1200 metres.

RACE 8 – PENRITH SHOW 24THE & 25TH AUGUST @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND NSW BRED TWO YEAR OLD HEAT – 1720 metres

GENERAL– Consideration was given to a protest lodged by Troy Williams trainer of second placed LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE alleging interference against first placed DOWN WARD DOG over the concluding stages.  After hearing submissions from Mr Williams and taking evidence from drivers Cameron Hart (LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE), Jack Callaghan (DOWN WARD DOG) and review of the available replays it was established that shortly after straightening DOWN WARD DOG was carried wider by LOCKITINEDDY which shifted out immediately upon straightening resulting in DOWN WARD DOG being taken out towards LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE resulting in both runners making slight contact, however Stewards were satisfied LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE was afforded an unimpeded run from that point to the finish of the event and could not be satisfied that the margin between the two runners was outweighed by this occurrence and the all clear was subsequently given.

MYSTERIOUS BEACH– Driver Justin Reynolds explained the colt struck its near side knee throughout and he did not feel it was suited by the tight Penrith circuit and he would recommend to connections where possible to limit the colt’s racing to tracks with larger circumference.  A post-race veterinary examination of MYSTERIOUS BEACH failed to reveal any significant findings.

DYNAMITES BEST– Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 48 metres.  A warning was issued.

LOCKITINEDDY– Shifted out upon straightening resulting in DOWN WARD DOG being carried wider.
