RACE 1 – CRYSTAL FESTIVAL @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND NOV 9-10 PACE – 2125 metres

BIG BLACK DIAMOND –Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

LETS TURN IT ON– Inconvenienced leaving the 150 metres and contacted marker pegs when attempting to take a run to the inside of DESIDERIO which did not eventuate and was ultimately held up for clear running and was not fully tested. 

THATS ART– Broke in the score up for which a warning was issued.

MAID OF MONEY NZ– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 2 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres

PLAY SOUTHERNLAND– Pre-race blood sample. Driver Jake Bigeni was questioned in regards to the overall performance of the mare where after leading the mare failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 21.3 metres. Mr Bigeni felt the overall performance of the mare was disappointing. Trainer Ronald Munnoch was also spoken to in regards to the immediate racing future of PLAY SOUTHERNLAND. Mr Munnoch explained the mare had had a long campaign and felt it would be best to spell PLAY SOUTHERNLAND. As a result the mare was stood down for a period of 28 days. A veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

ROGERVALERIO LOMBO– Checked passing the 600 metres as a result of CONSIDER IT DONE commencing to give ground.

CONSIDER IT DONE– Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader approaching the 1200 metres. Commenced to give ground from the 600 metres before being beaten 24.3 metres.

RAYS REDEMPTION– Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.

BETTER HARLEY– Hung in in the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

SHARPER MEMORY– Post-race swab sample.

MAJOR ICON NZ– Commenced to improve three wide passing the 900 metres.

RIPSTONE SNORTER– Commenced to improve three wide with a trail on the back of MAJOR ICON NZ passing the 900 metres.

 

RACE 3 – SUPA FAMILY FUN DAY @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND NOV 10 PACE – 1720 metres

PERCY BAILEY– Pre-race blood sample.

BRAVO STRIDE– Post-race swab sample.

THE METAL FLYER– Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.

CASH AND BLING– Held up early before obtaining a run to the inside of PERCY BAILEY approaching the 100 metres.

ELOUISA DALE NZ– Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.

 

RACE 4 – GRINNER LODGE RACING STABLES PETER SULLIVAN MEMORIAL – 2525 metres

VALLEY STAR NZ– Broke rounding the first turn for which a warning was issued.

ELLOWEN– Approaching the 150 metres hung in, became unbalanced and broke gait. Given the recent record of the mare ELLOWEN will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.

VIKSUN– Post-race swab sample.

MAJESTIC TOOTH– Shortly after the start locked wheels with DOWN UNDER EARL when that runner veered in severely checking MAJESTIC TOOTH which broke stride and took no competitive part in the event.

DOWN UNDER EARL– Pre-race blood sample. Galloped out, veered in and locked wheels with MAJESTIC TOOTH and took no competitive part in the event. Given the racing manners of DOWN UNDER EARL the gelding will be placed right out of the draw in standing starts and was stood down until it can complete one stand start requalifying trial.

LAST CLANSMAN– Approaching the 250 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 5 – WEDNESDAY @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND PACE – 1720 metres

PARKED IN HEAVEN– Shifted out under pressure.

FIRST CLASS NZ– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

SHADES OF HEAVEN– All clear was delayed to determine if SHADES OF HEAVEN had improved inside marker pegs rounding the final turn. Upon review of the films it was established SHADES OF HEAVEN had commenced to improve to the inside of PARKED IN HEAVEN when that runner shifted down the track slightly placing SHADES OF HEAVEN in restricted room at which time shifted in and contacted marker pegs however at the same time was not improving. Given the available evidence, the all clear was given on the judge’s numbers of 5 – 1 – 7 – 8. SHADES OF HEAVEN was held up in the early stages of the home straight.

ONE FOR THE RODI– held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 6 – CLUB PACEWAY OPEN EVERY DAY PACE – 1720 metres

NOTMUCHUPTOP– Driver Joshua Gallagher was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the gelding after leading the event commenced to tire passing the 600 metres to be beaten 31.8 metres. Mr Gallagher felt the gelding was disappointing as when racing in front NOTMUCHUPTOP is usually hard to run past however today was a beaten horse at the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards noted the comments of Mr Gallagher.

MIZZZ ADELE– Shifted out under pressure for which a warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.

SILENT REACTION– Pre-race blood sample. Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

KEILOR BABY SHARK– Checked between the 600 metres and 400 metres when held up behind the tiring NOTMUCHUPTOP.

KISSMELVIS– Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 7 – SKY RACING ACTIVE 2YO PACE – 1720 metres

MADAM TIGER– Shifted out under pressure for which a warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.

DELIANUOVA– Hung in in the score up and had a tendency to hang in throughout the event for which a warning was issued. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1450 metres.

DYNAMITES BEST– Pre-race blood sample.

MARY ANNE ROSE– Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

MIGHT AND TEMERITY– Pre-race blood sample.  Commenced to improve three wide passing the 1000 metres before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 850 metres.

 

RACE 8 – XTREME BULLS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND NOV 23 PACE – 2125 metres

ROYAL VINCENT– Post-race swab sample.

BETTINE– Pre-race blood sample. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the request of Trainer Ross Adams. The veterinary report indicated the filly was unfit to take its place in the race and was declared a late scratching at 9.20pm. Acting on veterinary advice was stood down for a period of 10 days and until a veterinary certificate of clearance was provided.

WHEREISHE– Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

MISTER POVERTY– Pre-race blood sample.

NITRO DANNY– Failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 59.3 metres.

KNOCKOUT TYSON– Driver Peter Green Jnr was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(c)(ii) for allowing the horse to shift in and contact marker pegs leaving the 200 metres. Over the concluding stages had a tendency to shift out under pressure.

DOUBLE IT HARRY– Commenced to improve three wide passing the 1400 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 1150 metres.
