RACE 1 – ACCESS GROUP SOLUTIONS CLEANING SERVICES TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

NOTHING I WANT– Galloped out for which a warning was issued.

IMPACT STRIDE– Pre-race blood sample.

KEAYANG SADIE– Trainer Margaret Lee was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to advise Will Rixon as the driver by the prescribed time. Post-race swab sample.

BURKHARDT NZ– Became unbalanced and broke gait passing the 550 metres for which a warning was issued.

MAJESTIC TOOTH– Galloped out for which a warning was issued.

THE NIGHT KING– Inconvenienced passing the 550 metres as a result of BURKHARDT NZ breaking stride.

FLASH KYVALLEY– Worked forward to the lead passing the 900 metres. A post-race veterinary examination to have bled from one nostril. Acting under Rule 101B(2) FLASH KYVALLEY will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.

 

RACE 2 – APIAM AGNES BANKS EQUINE DENTISTRY TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

LAST CLANSMAN– Trainer Kerryann Morris was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to notify herself as the driver by the prescribed time. Broke after the start and considering the geldings recent record will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

RAKERO WARRIOR– Broke after the start and will be continued out of the draw in mobile start events.

JUNGLE EYES– Pre-race blood sample. Out of position at the start and will be continued out of the draw in mobile start events. Caught three wide before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 3 – FOR A REASON STANDING AT COBBITTY EQUINE FARM TWO YEAR OLD PACE – 1609 metres

LOCKITINEDDY– Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

BETTORLIGHTEM UP– Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.

ZEUSS– Had a tendency to hang in rounding the first turn.

 

RACE 4 – 2024 AUSTRALASIAN YOUNG DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP HEAT ONE – 1609 metres

SPARKLA– Held up in the early stages of the straight. Inconvenienced and raced roughly approaching the 200 metres when attempting to take a run between DOUBLE SAID and LOYOLA GOLF as a result of LOYOLA GOLF shifting up the track slightly.

SPECIALIZE LOU– Pre-race blood sample. Hung out in the score up, broke stride and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

KING COREY– Driver Corey Johnson was questioned in regards to the overall performance of the gelding, after leading commenced to tire approaching the 400 metres to be beaten 36.8 metres. Mr Johnson explained the gelding travelled well throughout however failed to run on over the concluding stages and felt KING COREY was disappointing. Trainer David Waite was also spoken to and explained he was confident of a forward showing based on the geldings work and recent trials, he also felt the performance of the gelding was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. In view of the overall performance a warning was placed on KING COREY.

REIGN MAKER– Driver Jacob Duggan was cautioned in relation to his whip use over the concluding stages. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – PRYDE’S RACING CUBE PACE – 1609 metres

BENTLY BULLET– Checked between the 400 metres and 200 metres when held up behind the tiring BE MY ROCK.

WOODLEA BEAVER NZ– Declared a late scratching at 2.36pm on veterinary advice.

BE MY ROCK– Pre-race blood sample. Driver Peter Green Jnr was spoken to in regards to the overall performance of the gelding after working forward to the lead approaching the 1200 metres the gelding commenced to give ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 20.6 metres. Mr Green explained that BE MY ROCK had to work harder than expected to find the lead in a solid first quarter (26.5) and felt that may have contributed to the overall performance, however still felt the gelding was disappointing. Stewards noted the comments of Mr Green. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

MY ROCK MOVES– Hung out in the score up.

MISTER JONES NZ– Had a tendency to over race during the event. Post-race swab sample.

BALTUSROL– Driver Will Rixon was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have the gelding in position at the starting point.

 

RACE 6 – 2024 AUSTRALASIAN YOUNG DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP HEAT TWO – 1609 metres

SILVER MYSTIQUE– Inconvenienced between the 500 metres and 300 metres when being held up by EPIC ERNIE who was giving ground at that point.

MICKEYS BRIDE– Declared a late scratching at 2.01pm acting on veterinary advice, furthermore the gelding was stood down for a period of 10 days and until a veterinary certificate of clearance is provided.

EPIC ERNIE– Driver Corey Johnson was spoken to in regards to the overall performance of the gelding which lead, before surrendering the lead passing the 800 metres and approaching the 500 metres commenced to tire to be beaten 42.9 metres.  Mr Johnson explained EPIC ERNIE had travelled well in the run however when asked to extend failed to respond. Trainer Bailey McDonough confirmed EPIC ERNIE would now be spelled and as a result was stood down for a period of 28 days.

IMA QUEEN BEE– Worked forward to the lead approaching the 800 metres.

CABANA– Post-race swab sample.

BART BENTLEY– Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 7 – TAB WE’RE ON PACE – 1609 metres

KING OF TRUMPS NZ– Pre-race blood sample.

POWER UP NZ– Held up in the early stages of the home straight before finding clear running approaching the 100 metres.

COMPETE– Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 8 – IRT PACE – 1609 metres

OURMATEMENKO NZ– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

TURBO TOMMY– Cast a plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed TURBO TOMMY had sustained a laceration to the near side hind leg which required stitching. As a result TURBO TOMMY was stood down for a period of 28 days and until a veterinary certificate of clearance is provided. 

SURF ACE– Driver Cameron Fitzpatrick was fined the sum of $200 under rule 170(4)(b) for allowing his right foot to drop from the sulky rest in the vicinity of the hind legs of SURF ACE.

OUTSIDE FIGHTER– Driver Jason Grimson was questioned in regards to the overall performance of the gelding after having worked forward to the position outside the leader approaching the 800 metres failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 23.5 metres. Mr Grimson felt the gelding was disappointing and connections may reevaluate the way the gelding is to be driven in future starts.

REPELLING– Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1050 metres.
