General: Drivers K Young (HOLD YOUR FIRE) and G Johnson (IM GRAFTER) were interviewed into the reason for IM GRATFER having to take restraint racing out of the back straight on the first occasion. Upon conclusion Mr Young was reprimanded under the provisions of rule 163(1)(a)(i) for causing crossing in that he has shifted inwards, tightening the racing room of IM GRAFTER, who was obliged to take a hold for a short distance. In determining penalty Stewards considered the interference to be on the low end.
Drivers S McDonald (IDONTWANABEAPIRATE) and R Warwick (SWITCH BLADE) were interviewed into the reason for IDONTWANABEAPIRATE breaking gait racing towards the front straight on the final occasion. After considering the evidence tendered and reviewing the Stewards patrol vision it was established SWITCH BLADE had hung inwards whilst racing to the outside of IDONTWANABEAPIRATE, tightening the gelding’s racing room and has broken gait as a consequence. A warning was placed on SWITCH BLADE’s racing manners.
