Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
A number of Trainers with runners engaged at tonight’s meeting had their stables inspected as part of the RWWA Compliance Assurance Activities.
The sprint lane was in operation at today’s meeting.
RACE 1 – SKYSPORTSRADIO.COM.AU TROT (2116SS)
Trainer M. Young fined $50 under R268 A (1) for failing to notify gear changes on CHICAGO H NZ by the prescribed time.
IM GAVOCHE (D. Chandler) – Broke gait shortly after the start and twice in running. A warning was issued in respect to these matters.
CHICAGO H NZ (G. Hall Jnr) – Inconvenienced when SKY EAGLE (G. Johnson) shifted up the track to avoid IM GAVOCHE (D. Chandler) shortly after the start.
RACE 2 – SKY HARNESS 2YO PACE (1684MS)
SEAGRASS (D. Egerton-Green) – Hung inwards shortly after the start when racing to the inside of STAPLETON (M. Miller) which had a tendency to hang inwards, consequently contacted and dislodged a marker peg.
BALLINUP BOY (T. Wheeler) – The lugging pole became detached racing out of the back straight shortly after the start.
RACE 3 – SKY RACING HQ MAIDEN PACE (1684MS)
FIVE STAR KEVIN (H. Charles) – Broke gait free of interference approaching the home turn on the final occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 13 days and until such time as the completion of 2 satisfactory re-qualifying trials.
JAZZARI (G. Johnson) – A post-race veterinary examination of the mare which was beaten 105m revealed a slow recovery. Reinsperson G. Johnson felt the mare may be coming into season. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 4 – SKY BIG SPORTS BREAKFAST PACE (2185MS)
Trainer Mr H. Reeves was fined $50 under R273(6)(b) for presenting LOVE TO FLY to race with incorrect gear.
The start of this race was delayed by five minutes due to a sulky replacement having to be made on ZAC YOUR NOBODY (M. Young).
DELIGHTABLE NZ (D. Miller) – Contacted the rear of the sulky on DEVILS COURAGE (B. Guidice) racing in the latter stages of the back straight on the first occasion, when the horse raced keenly as the hopple pins were released.
RACE 5 – SKY NUMBER 1 IN RACING FILLIES & MARES PACE (2185MS)
Trainer Mr K. Prentice was fined $50 under R273(6)(b) for presenting ICY WINDS to race with incorrect gear.
CHICA VALIENTE (S. Young) – Broke gait free of interference racing into the back straight on the final occasion severely checking CLOUDY REACTOR (W. Price) and GO WIDGIE (E. Suvaljko). Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 6 – SKYRACING.COM.AU PACE (2185MS)
MISSION GLORY was a late withdrawal from this event at 12.52pm on Veterinary advice as the gelding had sustained an injury to the off-hind leg in an incident en route to the course. Stood down for 7 days on Veterinary advice.

RACE 8 – SKY ON THE PACE (2116SS)
THE BATMOBILE NZ (C. Lewis) and BEAT THE BANK (D. Roberts) commenced poorly and both had warnings issued.
TINSELTOWN NZ (C. Voak) – Reinsperson C. Voak was fined $100 under R163(1)(c)(i) for racing inside two marker pegs in the front straight, also fined $200 under R156(2)(a) for using his whip in more than a flicking motion.
EXTRAORDINARY MARY (K. Harper) – Retired from the race approaching the back straight on the final occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had choked down.
RACE 9 – SKY RACING 3YO FILLIES MAIDEN PACE (2185MS)
A false start was called when ALFA PRINCESS (S. Young) broke gait midway through the score-up checking runners on the second line. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.
Permission was given for KNIGHT EAGLE (G. Gray) to race without its anti-choking device due to it breaking In the false start.
KNIGHT EAGLE (G. Gray) – Broke gait shortly after the start severely checking BUSHBELLE (M. Cox) and INFAMISS (M. Young). Taking into account all the circumstances no action was taken.
