When questioned on the performance Driver D Egerton-Green advised that as the pace reduced through the second section he believed he could find the leading position however was disappointed in the gelding’s performance.

RACE 4 – LUCKY CHARM NEWS AGENCY PINJARRA PACE (1684MS)
Stewards inquired into the reasons for the late scratching of DONTWAKEMEUP which was scratched after final scratching’s at 8.38am. Trainer A De Campo was subsequently fined $100 under HR238 for failing with his requirement to withdraw his horses prior to final scratching’s. RACE 9 – J.J STEELE PLUMBING PACE (1684MS)
IM LIGHTNING BANNER NZ (D Egerton-Green) – Broke gait when racing in the back straight on the final occasion. Was stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1satisfactory re-qualifying trial.

RACE 10 – BENDIGO BANK PACE (1684MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 11 – GANNONS SPORTSWEAR & TROPHIES MAIDEN PACE (1684MS)
Stewards inquired into the reasons for THE THIRSTY VET (A Suvaljko) being checked and losing ground when racing in the back straight on the final occasion. Stewards heard evidence from Drivers J Rigoli (RIGGERS RIVER) and A Suvaljko and after viewing the patrol vision established that RIGGERS RIVER was being shifted wider in an attempt to find clear running. RIGGERS RIVER had been eased up the track and THE THIRSTY VET had resisted the move, the two runners jostled momentarily and as PLASTERED (C Voak) had shifted outwards in advance of RIGGERS RIVER the driver shifted further in an effort to avoid contacting the sulky wheel, which contributed to the above interference. Stewards determined that Driver J Rigoli had been in a position to ease THE THIRSTY VET, the shift had been gradual and but for the shift being resisted and the movement from PLASTERED to the runners advance, the incident would likely have not occurred. Stewards also found that it was not unreasonable in the circumstances for Driver A Suvaljko to attempt to resist the movement and hold his position. Stewards determined no driver had driven in a careless manner and no further action was taken.
Stewards inquired into the reasons for DELIGHTABLE NZ (K Harper) breaking gait momentarily when racing into the front straight on the final occasion. Driver K Harper put forward that the gelding had dropped both knee boots and believed this was a major factor in the gelding breaking gait. Mr K Harper did not believe the horse to his outside had contributed to the interference. Stewards however cautioned Driver B Giudice (KRIPKE) which was racing to the outside of DELIGHTABLE and advised him to make a greater effort in future to ensure he gives sufficient running room to other runners.
LUCY HELEN (T Wheeler) – Broke gait in the middle stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was effected. The mare will be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
THE THIRSTY VET (A Suvaljko) – Driver later reported that the gelding sustained a small abrasion to the near side hind leg.
