SEA FURY NZ (T Wheeler) – Raced roughly when leaving the back straight on the final occasion.
IM DRINKINDOUBLES (K Harper) – Inconvenienced when racing out of the back straight on the final occasion.
General: The all clear was delayed at the request of Driver M Miller (SOHO SKYFALL) to review the official patrol footage of the start of the event. After reviewing the vision, Driver M Miller elected to lodge a protest against SEA FURY NZ (T Wheeler) which had finished third alleging interference causing a flat tyre shortly after the start was effected. After hearing submissions from both drivers and reviewing the vision, Stewards dismissed the protest and subsequently issued all clear on the judge's numbers of 7,6,3 and 5. In dismissing the protest, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the interference caused compensated for the beaten margin between runners of 5.6 metres.
In relation to the above incident, Stewards interviewed Drivers M Miller (SOHO SKYFALL), T Wheeler (SEA FURY NZ), K Harper (IM DRINKINDOUBLES) and coupled with the official patrol footage, it was established that shortly after the start was effected, SEA FURY NZ in an endeavour to obtain cover, had shifted inwards when proving difficult to restrain making contact with the offside sulky wheel of SOHO SKYFALL and causing IM DRINKINDOUBLES who had been trailing those runners to be eased. Subsequently, Driver T Wheeler was fined $200 under the provisions of HR168(1)(a) for careless driving.

DISPATCHER (A Cortopassi) – Driver A Cortopassi reported that the mare had been contacting its own sulky throughout the event.
