RACE 1 – SLEAPY’S FOUNDATION PACE – 1609 metres

KASBAH– Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

SIR CANDY CLOUD– Broke stride free of any external factors shortly after the start and galloped.  Raced roughly for some distance inside the 600 metres.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again, SIR CANDY CLOUD must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.

SHEZA REBEL– Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

OHWHATIWOULDGIVE– Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.

RACE 2 – SOMERSET MEATS / THE BLIND BAKER WARATAH HEAT – 1609 metres

ABSTRACT ART– Locked wheels for a short distance with OUR PRINCESS KENNEDY NZ shortly after the start when both runners shifted ground marginally.  Held up approaching the home turn, then was unable to obtain clear running inside the 150m and ran to the finish without being tested.

OUR PRINCESS KENNEDY NZ– Locked wheels for a short distance passing the 400 metres with FIRST STRING when FIRST STRING shifted in slightly.

FIRST STRING– Pre-race blood sample.

BETTOR CHEER NZ– When questioned in relation to the tactics in the early and middle stages driver M Ison explained that she had been instructed to lead if possible or obtain the position outside the lead. She said that because THE CREEK crossed so quickly from her outside she was unable to achieve this and was forced to restrain to avoid being trapped wide. She said that rounding the turn after the start she was unable to get cover behind FIRST STRING when SERGEI shifted out from the marker peg line before she could establish the position and was thereafter was obliged to restrain to the rear of the field. She added that when placed under pressure from the 400m BETTOR CHEER responded well but was unable to make sufficient ground to be prominent in the finish.

THE CREEK– Post-race swab sample.

SPIRIT KING– Driver Z Fitzpatrick was fined $50 under AR162(1)(h), for failing to drive the gelding into position at the start.

SERGEI – When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted particularly inside the 400 metres trainer/driver G Dorn explained, that after travelling well with cover throughout, he improved in a three wide line behind FIRST STRING passing the 500m, however when that runner could not continue to go forward, he was obliged to shift wider passing the 300m and was under pressure from that point. He said that whilst he drove without the application of the whip, which he explained the gelding was not responsive to, SERGEI was fully extended and unable to make significant ground due to being forced to race wide for longer than intended. He added that the manner that he urged his drive during this period will be consistent with his driving of this runner at all times.

RACE 3 – JB CATERING / KEN PILGRIM MEMORIAL – 2030 metres

JUNGLE JIVE– Trainer/driver M Chapple pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(b)(i), stating that passing the 800 metres and prior to the designated marker point, he directed JUNGLE JIVE outwards when insufficiently clear of HY FILANTE, resulting in HY FILANTE and WHISKEY GIRL NZ which was racing to its outside, being forced to cover extra ground.  M Chapple’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence at midnight 26 October 2024 and expire on 3 November 2024 on which day he may drive.

BARBARADAWNSHANNON– Broke stride free of any external factors and galloped during the score up and a false start was declared.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.  Had to be checked for a considerable distance inside the 600 metres when racing behind JUNGLE JIVE and HY FILANTE which weakened at that point.

SHE WO DARES– Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

WHISKEY GIRL NZ– Pre-race blood sample.

MAURLEN BOY– Post-race swab sample.

CLASSIC ARC– Had to be continually checked for some distance approaching the home turn when racing in restricted room, then had to be shifted out approaching the 100 metres to obtain clear running.

RACE 4 – MICHAEL & ROBBIE’S 60TH SHINDIG PACE – 1609 metres

SWEETLY SPOKEN– Post-race swab sample.

KRAFTY CANDY– Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 5 – HCM PACE – 1609 metres

YESNOMAYBESO– Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Held up approaching and rounding the home turn and could not be driven forward.

FOREVER A DANCER NZ– Had to be shifted wider at the entrance to the home straight to avoid ABDICATE NZ, which shifted out in search of clear running when not quite clear.  Subsequently COLBY NZ and WAYOUTWEST which were racing outside FOREVER A DANCER NZ locked wheels and were unbalanced for some distance.  M Ison the driver of ABDICATE NZ was reprimanded under AR 163(1)(a)(iii), for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear.

LITTLE DEMON– When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted inside the 500 metres driver B Lindsay explained, that after travelling well outside the leader MAN FROM BRAAVOS throughout, she observed it to be under pressure inside the 500m and she elected at that point to go forward to establish a break on the field. She said that LITTLE DEMON responded well and accelerated quickly and whilst there was still a considerable distance to the finish, her drive was fully extended and therefore she elected to continue urging. She said that the response remained strong and she felt that her tactics would be successful as she approached the 100m, however the gelding’s run ended over the concluding stages.

COLBY NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

ROCKLEA IMAGE– Post-race swab sample.

RACE 6 – PALMER TOURS 2YO PACE – 1609 metres

LADY DELORIS– Pre-race blood sample.

SWEET TARA– Post-race swab sample.

HOWITIS– Shifted out marginally despite the efforts of its driver near the 100 metres and locked wheels with WATCH CARINAS LASS, then when attempting to release, contact was made with the hind leg of WATCH CARINAS LASS resulting in the filly becoming unbalanced, having to be checked and breaking stride.

WATCH CARINAS LASS– Pulled hard during the middle stages.

RACE 7 – MGH PACKAGING / CHADDIES ON REGENT PACE – 1609 metres

SILVER LADY NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

GROSESTAR– Over raced for some distance during the middle stages.  Shifted out marginally despite the efforts of its driver rounding the home turn, resulting in DAGGY LAMBNZ being forced slightly wider and locking wheels with SAINT KARAMARA for a short distance approaching the home turn.

HASLER– Had to be checked severely and shifted in abruptly rounding the home turn when racing behind SAINT KARAMARA and DAGGY LAMB, which had locked wheels. As a result of this, HASLER was disadvantaged in the run to the finish.

RACE 8 – GLUTEN FREE 4 U PACE – 2030 metres

PIXIEBELLE– Broke stride free of any external factors passing the 1600 metres and galloped for some distance.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again the filly must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.

ALTIANO– Pre-race blood sample.

CAPTAIN LOU– Weakened noticeably inside the 500 metres and was uncompetitive.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again CAPTAIN LOU must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

EYES BEEN PATIENT– Galloped away when the start was affected.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

IMA SWEET TORQUE NZ– Post-race swab sample.

SWEET VALERIA– Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Fractious during the score up and was out of position at the start.  Weakened noticeably inside the 400 metres and tailed the field.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again SWEET VALERIA must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.
