General – The announcement of All Clear was delayed at the request of Driver Chris Geary (SMOKING JOEY) to have application for that runner to be declared a non-runner after being denied a fair start. Upon review of the replays and evidence it was established that SMOKING JOEY was fractious in the pre-race circle prior to facing the mobile barrier and that the barrier had moved from its stationary position to commence the score up prior to SMOKING JOEY being able to face, resulting in that runner missing the start by a considerable distance. As Stewards were satisfied that at no stage did SMOKING JOEY face the mobile barrier that runner was declared a late scratching and all monies invested on SMOKING JOEY refunded.

RACE 5 – EMPIRE STALLIONS 2YO FILLIES PACE – 1609 metres

General - Consideration was given to a protest lodged by Driver Grace Panella (FRANCOS DELIGHT -5th placegetter) against the fourth placegetter MISS ADONIS (Dan Morgan) alleging interference upon entering the home straight on the final occasion. Upon review of the replays and evidence Stewards were satisfied that upon entering the home straight MISS ADONIS did hang out and shifted marginally wider on the track making contact with FRANCOS DELIGHT racing to the outside. This movement resulted in FRANCOS DLEIGHT pacing roughly, being forced wider on the track and losing its rightful racing passage. In also considering the ½ head margin between the two runners, Stewards were satisfied that the interference caused was greater than the margin of a ½ head and upheld the objection. All Clear was then announced on the judge’s placings with the new numbers being 1-7-9-8.
