RACE 1 – FIRST PAST THE POST SERIES PACE – 1609 metres
CAPTAIN GROOVE– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
OUR PRINCESS KENNEDY NZ– Hampered rounding the final turn when trailing weakening runners.
RACE 2 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres.
NEVER KNOW CHARLIE– Examined post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
OUR ULTIMATE JESSY– A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted and the overall performance Driver C Hart explained after initially being reluctant to go up to the mobile barrier was shortly after the start beaten for speed on both inside and the outside with CARRAMAR OLAM crossing to the lead position. He further added after being caught wide in the early stages of the event was unable to find a position in the running line handy and was obliged to restrain to a trailing position. He further added that was reluctant to race in the position outside the leader given the early tempo. He further added that given the quick sectionals was unable to get into the race however finished off the event well. Stewards noted his comments.

OUR IDEAL DREAM NZ– Hampered as the field raced into the back straight on the final occasion.
RIPPIN RUPERT– Pre-race blood sample.
SUPERBON– Hampered as the field raced into the back straight on the final occasion.
ERROL FIN– Broke stride prior to entering the back straight on the final occasion. A warning was issued.
RACE 3 – BONVILLA ESTATE WINES PACE – 2030 metres
INDI AIR TONIGHT– Shifted in shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish. Sustained contact to the near side wheel.
FAYE IRENE– post-race swab sample.
YESNOMAYBESO– Examined pre- and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
ROCK FISHERMAN- Examined pre- and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Pre-race blood sample.
NOTHINGBUTWAVES– After being held up in the early stages of the run to the finish attempted a run to the inside of INDI AIR TONIGHT when in the opinion of Stewards there was insufficient room to do so and as a result contacted the near side wheel of that runner and raced roughly for a short distance. Driver R Morris was reprimanded under Rule 168(1)(a) for carelessness at that stage.
PORT AU PRINCE NZ– Broke stride in the early stages of the score up. A warning was issued.
RACE 4 – PSC INSURANCE PACE – 1609 metres
RUMOUR STRIDE– Post-race swab sample.
PENURIOUS– Pre-race blood sample. Tended to hang in racing down the home straight on the final occasion.
TRALEE SNICKAS– Checked and broke stride passing the 50 metres.
LACHIES GAMBLE– After being manoeuvred wider coming to the 50 metres by VINTAGE EDITION (C Formosa) then continued to shift up the track which in turn forced IRE OF THE DRAGON up the track into the running of TRALEE SNICKAS where as a result that runner was checked and broke stride with PENURIOUS also having a tendency to hang into the outside.
SPUNKYS GOTSECRETS– When queried regarding the performance and tactics adopted, Driver B Hughes explained to Stewards that in the early stages of the event was obliged to find a trailing position and was reluctant to make a 3 wide move to be closer due to LACHIES GAMBLE which was outside the leader maintaining a genuine tempo. He further added that his runner finished off the event well. Stewards noted his comments.
SWEET ROCKY– Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
VINTAGE EDITION– tended to over race throughout the event and was held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
RACE 5 – BARASTOC PACE -1609 metres
QUADDIE VC NZ– Broke stride in the early stages of the score up. Connections were advised it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
GROSSO NASO– Pre-race blood sample. Out of position as the start was affected. Driver B Hughes was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position prior to the start being affected. When queried regarding the performance, Driver B Hughes explained was significantly up in grade and after finding a rearward position got left chasing throughout the third quarter however finished off the event fairly. Stewards noted his comments.

RACE 6 – HUNTER SIGNS PACE – 2030 metres
JEFFCOATE– Pre-race blood sample.
WALLAROY BOY- Examined pre- and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
NIFTY STUDLEIGH- Examined pre- and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
SYLVIA KAY NZ– tended to hang out down the back straight on the final occasion.
BODYLINE– Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
ILLAWONG DANNY– post-race swab sample.
RACE 7 – TOOHEYS PACE – 2030 metres
MYSTICAL SUNSHINE– Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
FRANKIROMAR– When questioned regarding the tactics adopted Driver A Bourke explained to Stewards it was the intention to be forward in the field and was expecting after finding the position outside the leader that BELLRIVERGIRL would have surrendered the lead position when a challenge presented form NEXT TO ME NZ and from that point had a tendency to over-race. He further added he was pleased in his runner’s efforts given that it was first up for some time.
NEXT TO ME NZ– When questioned regarding the tactics adopted Driver C Griffiths explained to Stewards that after making a 3 wide move in the middle stages in an attempt to find the position outside the leader FRANKIROMAR had a tendency to over race and was left racing 3 wide and was obliged to restrain to the rear of the field. Stewards noted his comments.
BETTATHANMOZARELLA– post-race swab sample.
MODERN MISCHIEF– Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
CHARJO– tended to race roughly shortly after the start was affected and entering the first turn. A warning was issued.
RACE 8 – SOMERSET MEATS 2YO PACE – 1609 metres
CALA SERENA– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
HUNGRY JOE– Galloped away as the start was affected. A warning was issued.
RUBY ROMAR– Checked and broke stride passing the 100 metres.
MIRA DOMINA– tended to race roughly shortly after the start was affected. Connections were advised it will continue to be excluded form the mobile barrier draw.
COMPLETE STRANGER– Driver B Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that after being held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish, permitted his runner to shift wider and as a result checked the running of RUBY ROMAR whereas a result that runner broke stride and continued to shift wider on the track and also checked the running of RAINBOW KID which raced roughly for a short distance. Driver B Fitzpatrick had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 21 days. When considering penalty, Stewards considered his overall driving record, plea of guilt and high degree of carelessness.

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP FIRST PAST THE POST SERIES 3YO PACE – 2030 metres\
A power outage occurred during the preliminary, resulting in the failure of all track lighting. As there was no estimated time for restoration, and following consultation with club officials and participants, Stewards determined that the final race on the program would be postponed pending further assessment.
