GENERAL

Due to Trainer J Donovan suffering mechanical issues enroute to the course the following late scratching’s were declared at 4.36pm.

Race 1 – KATASTROPHEE

Race 7 – RIPPIN AN TWISTIN 

Race 8 – SEVEN RIPPIN ACES

Race 9 – ELLIE RIPPIN

 

RACE 1 – SOMERSET MEATS HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

SHEZA REBEL– Post-race swab sample.

MISS OUT– Pre-race blood sample. Raced roughly as the field negotiated the first turn. Momentarily hampered after engaging in a jostle with IMLIKA rounding the final turn.

LA DERNIERE– Deafeners failed to release over the concluding stages.

IMLIKA– Engaged in a jostle with MISS OUT as the field negotiated the final turn.

 

RACE 2 – MATES4HARNESS PACE – 2030 metres

BRAVE BONDI– Pre-race blood sample.

WILD CARD NZ– Post-race swab sample.

SERGEI– Checked and broke stride as the field entered the first turn.

ULTRA BLISS– Driver C Formosa pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn she allowed her runner to shift down the track which placed SERGEI in restricted room when racing to the outside of WILD CARD NZ and as a result was checked and broke stride. Driver C Formosa’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 21 days. When Stewards gave consideration into penalty, they took into account her plea of guilty in addition to her driving record in relation to interference.

 

RACE 3 – SLICK CHICKS PACE – 1609 metres

ROLL WITH SLOY– Post-race swab sample.

ROSBERG NZ– Pre-race blood sample.

BETTERTHANFEDERER– Had a tendency to hang in at various stages of the event.

 

RACE 4 – COCO COLA PACE – 2030 metres

ROCKTAGONAL– Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

WAVETHEBILL NZ– Post-race swab sample.

LACEYS LAD NZ– Pre-race sample.

JIMMY JAMES MAGUIRE NZ– A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to have bled from both nostrils. As this was the first registered attack, connections were advised it would be stood down for a period of 3 months in addition to 1 requalifying trial and a veterinary certificate of fitness.

STINGRAY TARA– Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

 

 

 

RACE 5 – GLOBAL BRANDS LIQUOR PACE – 1609 metres

BETTINE– Driver D Morris was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying the whip over the concluding stages he employed an action which engaged the shoulder. Post-race swab sample.

NEVER KNOW BLAZE– Had a tendency to hang in at various stages of the event.

GOODTIME BRAVO– Pre-race blood sample.

YESNOMAYBESO– Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

RACE 6 – PFD FOOD SERVICES PACE – 2030 metres

LONGWINDINGROAD– Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

HASLER– Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

SILVER LADY NZ– Post-race swab sample.

WAR WESTERN– Out of position as the start was effected. Driver B Elder was fined the sum of $50 under Rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position on the mobile barrier prior to the start being effected. Had a tendency to shift ground up the track whilst under pressure over the concluding stages. a warning was issued.

AVAIDEN– Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 7 – TOOHEYS TWO YEAR OLD PACE – 1609 metres

FIESTY TIGER– Pre-race blood sample. When questioned regarding the performance, Driver J Gallagher explained that after being caught wide in the early stages of the event he was obliged to restrain to the rear of the field and given the tempo as the field raced down the back straight on the final occasion looked to make a run however failed to make any significant ground and battled on fairly over the concluding stages. He further added given it was early in its preparation he would expect improvement going forward. Stewards noted his comments.

WALTER WARLOCK– Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 8 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 2030 metres

IDEAL MONDO– Post-race swab sample.

SHADOW ECLIPSE- Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

SLINGSHOT– Had a tendency to race roughly whilst under pressure rounding the final turn and failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ– Pre-race blood sample. Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Elder explained that after being caught outside the leader it had a tendency to over race and was somewhat disappointing over the concluding stages. He further added when racing over the longer journey connections may opt to drive in a more conservative manner.

NIGHTWATCH STAR NZ– Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

HOT EMBERS– Dislodged Driver C Griffiths during the parade ring at which HOT EMBERS at a slow place completed a lap of the circuit. A pre-race veterinary examination passed HOT EMBERS to take its place in the event.

 

 

RACE 9 – SHARP OFFICE MAIDEN PACE – 2030 metres

TILLIROMAR– Slow away as the start was effected. Had a tendency to hang out in particular on the first turn of the event however continued to hang out throughout the event.

BLING THE KASH– Pre-race blood sample. Had a tendency to shift ground up the track whilst under pressure in the early stages of the home straight in the run to the finish. Post-race swab sample.

MYSTIC EAGLE- Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. Driver M Taylor could not offer any suitable explanation for the performance. Connections were advised it would be stood down to one requalifying trial.

ALTIANO– Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

MAKE MINE IDEAL– Had a tendency to hang out and race roughly as the field negotiated the final turn.

RAINBOW REASON– Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. Driver M Grant could not offer any suitable explanation for the performance. Connections were advised it would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

SPUNKYS GOT ISSUES– Hampered shortly after the start was effected.
