Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
All engaged drivers at tonight’s meeting were subjected to rapid antigen tests being supervised by the Stewards prior to fulfilling their drives.
RACE 1 – MURRAY FLEAY & ZEKI ALLARDYCE 3YO WESTBRED PACE (1780MS)
SWEETEST THING (C. Peterson) – Raced roughly when Driver C. Peterson attempted to shift another runner and move into a three wide position racing into the back straight on the final occasion.
General: Drivers H. Reeves (GOTA GOOD WARHOL) and J. Suvaljko (THE RUNNING CAMEL) were reminded of their obligations with regards to applying the whip.
RACE 2 – JO HARRIS & LILLY MALINOWSKI PACE (2620MS)
HARD TO FORGET (E. Johnson) – Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was passed fit to race.
RACE 3 – JAYDEN MAWER & JUSTIN PATMORE 4YO+ PACE (2190MS)
OBSERVATION (K. Elliot) – Driver K. Elliot reported this horse had its tongue over the bit during the running of this event placing the gelding at some disadvantage.
RACE 4 – O’BRIENS WINDSCREENS 4YO+ PACE (1780MS)
BELONERO (C. Peterson) – Forced wide racing in the front straight to receive the bell.
RACE 5 – NORTHAM & DISTRICTS GLASS PACE (2190MS)
NORTHERN GAZE (J. Rigoli) – Driver J. Rigoli was questioned in regards to the colts below expectations performance in this event, starting as the $1.75 favourite. Mr Rigoli reported that after the initial early speed to gain the lead, the colt had over-raced and he was unable to settle it.
RACE 6 – NORTHAM & DISTRICTS GLASS ALISTAIR & NICOLE SMITH PACE (2190MS)
AMERICAN BULLITT (C. Peterson) – Inconvenienced racing in the back straight on the final occasion by the galloping HENRIK LARSSON NZ (I. Edwards).
HENRIK LARSSON NZ (I. Edwards) – Broke gait racing in the back straight on the final occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
TEVARICH (K. Elliott) – Broke gait racing into the front straight on the first occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial. This gelding took no competitive part thereafter.
RACE 7 – NORTHAM & DISTRICTS GLASS WINDSCREENS PACE (2150SS)
TEXAS TARA NZ (I. Edwards) – Driver and Trainers Representative Mr I. Edwards was fined $100 under the provisions of R273(6)(a) for presenting the horse with the incorrect number.
RACE 8 – NORTHAM & DISTRICTS GLASS SECURITY DOORS 4YO+ PACE (2190MS)
KRIPKE (B. Giudice) – Inconvenienced racing into the front straight on the final occasion when LADY JAMAR (H. Reeves) was giving ground.
LADY JAMAR (H. Reeves) – Broke gait racing out of the back straight on the first occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 13 days and until such time as the completion of 2 satisfactory re-qualifying trials as had previously offended at recent start.
RACE 9 – ALISTAIR & NICOLE SMITH FILLIES & MARES PACE (1780MS)
SHEHADI (I. Edwards) – Driver I. Edwards was reminded of his obligations when attempting to shift from a three wide position to a one wide position in that he must be clear to complete the move. Racing out of the front straight shortly after the start and in a three wide position, Mr Edwards attempted to cross down into the running line tightening the racing room of MAKAILA (C. Peterson) resulting in that mare racing roughly for a short distance.
