Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – POLLARD 3YO PACE (2190MS)
DRIVE LINE (B. Stampalia) - Broke gait racing out of the back straight on the first occasion. Raced roughly in the front straight to receive the bell. Commenced to give ground in the vicinity of the 500m to be beaten 44 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore. Will be stood down until a veterinary certificate of soundness is produced.
MASTER DUKE (G. Hall Jnr) - Inconvenienced racing out of the back straight on the first occasion.
MANEA (S. Suvaljko) - Raced ungenerously for the majority of the event.
ARIONROCK (D. Roberts) - When questioned in relation the the apparent improved performance, Trainer Mrs Strachan stated that the race pattern with the gelding able to obtain cover coupled with the mid race tempo were contributing factors to the winning performance.
WORLDS ABOVE (C. Peterson) - Inconvenienced leaving the back straight on the first occasion.
RACE 2 – DUNKERTON PACE (1780MS)
YANKEEDELIGHT (G. Johnson) - Contacted a marker peg entering the front straight on the final occasion.
THE GOOD STAR (T. Wheeler) - Commenced to give ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 58 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
DAWSON SHARD NZ (B. Johnson) - Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 42 metres.
RACE 3 – WINLOW PACE (1780MS)
RUSINOL (T. Wheeler) - Contacted a marker peg entering the front straight on the final occasion.
TRUNKEY FETCH (D. Roberts) - Over-raced through the middle stages of the event.
RACE 4 – SALLY & PETER PACE (2150SS)
IM DRINKINDOUBLES (T. Wheeler) - Locked wheels momentarily with MONTEGO (S. Suvaljko) in the front straight on the final occasion.
ROCKNROLL SPIRIT (A. Suvaljko) - Galloped out. Will be placed outside the draw in future Standing Start events.
MONTEGO (S. Suvaljko) - Locked wheels momentarily with IM DRINKINDOUBLES (T. Wheeler) in the front straight on the final occasion. Driver S. Suvaljko was reprimanded under HR156(2)(a) for using the whip in more than a flicking motion.
RAKERO RAIDER (V. Stampalia) - Slow to begin. Will continue to be placed outside the draw in future Standing Start events. Hung inwards under pressure in the front straight on the final occasion.
HOPE (L. Elliott) - Inconvenienced shortly after the start was effected.
HI TOMMY (A. Shepherd) - Gave ground from the 600m to be beaten 76 metres. Trainer Mr P. Duggan was advised the gelding was placed on its last chance to race competitively.
HOTFOOT IT NZ (T. Lynn) - Raced roughly shortly after the start was effected. Will continue to be placed outside the draw in future Standing Start events.
RACE 5 – LANCE POLLARD MEMORIAL PACE (2620MS)
LUCKY GALLEON NZ (A. De Campo) - Commenced to give ground from the 400m to be beaten 79 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obviously abnormalities.
RACE 6 – JEFFREY & PETA PACE (2190MS)
CHASING COOPER (K. Harper) - Caused a false start due to the gelding becoming fractious and casting the offside sulky wheel off the track. Broke gait shortly after the start was effected and blundered badly as a consequence and trailed the field thereafter and took no competitive part.. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events and will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
MISTER PICCOLO (L. Elliott) - Held up for the majority of the home straight.
THE MERCENARY (V. Stampalia) - Inconvenienced shortly after the start was effected.
SLEEK AND SWEET (D. Harper) - Inconvenienced shortly after the start was effected.
RACE 7 – STEVEN & KATHY PACE (2190MS)
THE WAND WAVER (S. Suvaljko) - Hung outwards for the majority.
JACKY DARLING (V. Stampalia) - Over-raced through the early and middle stages.
PECUNIOUS NZ (G. Hall Jnr) - Commenced to give ground from the 400m to be beaten 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
