Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – BLACK AFFAIR PACE (2190MS)
DUSTYROADS (E Harris) – Broke gait racing in the front straight on the final occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 13 days and until such time as the completion of 2 satisfactory re-qualifying trials.
SAVE THIS DANCE (T Wheeler) – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
CIAO BABE (M Miller) – Commenced to give ground in the vicinity of the 600m to be beaten 50 metres.
ALTA EGO (H Charles) – Hung inwards and broke gait racing out of the back straight on the first occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
ABBEE BEE (C Playle) – Raced roughly when racing out of the back straight on the first occasion.
JACK MANNIX (K Harper) – Inconvenienced racing out of the back straight on the first occasion.
RACE 2 – BIG BART PACE (1780MS)
PADDITUDE (D Harper) – Pulled hard in the score up. Over-raced through the early and middle stages of the event.
MISTA MANGELS (T Wheeler) – Broke gait shortly after the start was effected. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events. Trailed the field thereafter and took no competitive part.
TELKEM JAY (B Smith) – Hung inwards under pressure racing in the front straight on the final occasion.
CUTTING ROSES (T Byrant) – Broke gait racing out of the front straight on the first occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial. Trailed the field thereafter and took no competitive part.
RACE 3 – EMMA, KADEN, MACCA, FLICK, CHARLIE AND MONTANA PACE (2190MS)
BAZZA MAC NZ (E Suvaljko) – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
SIR BELVDERE (K Harper) – Over-raced through the early and middle stages of the event.
RACE 4 – GARRY, BOOF & SHERALEE JOHN HIGGINS MEMORIAL HEAT 2 PACE (2190MS)
LUCKY GALLEON NZ (D Harper) – Commenced to give ground in the vicinity of the 400m to be beaten 55 metres.
RACE 5 – GARRY ELLIOTT MEMORIAL PACE (2150MS)
BREWERY LANE (L Elliott) was a late scratching at 5.06pm when Trainer M White reported the gelding was lame in the off fore leg. When questioned in relation to the time of the scratching, Ms White advised that the issue did not appear until she went to proceed to course, after giving the gelding a thorough examination that morning.
BRONZED (D Harper) – Galloped out. A warning was placed against the geldings standing start manners. Over-raced through the early and middle stages of the event. Commenced to give ground in the vicinity of the 500m to be beaten 389 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Actioning under the provisions of HR101, Trainer M Williams was advised the gelding will be stood down for 3 months, provide a veterinary certificate of fitness soundness, and complete 1 successful re-qualifying trial prior to the resumption of racing.
VELVET SHADOW (K Harper) – Commenced to give ground over the concluding stages of the event to be beaten 38 metres.
JINGLING JEWELS (B Edman) – Inconvenienced racing into the front straight on the final occasion.
GOODONYA MATE (M Miller) – Galloped out. A warning was placed against the geldings standing start manners.
BEAT THE BANK (T Byrant) – Trailed the field throughout and took no competitive part.
RACE 6 – JANET - GARRY'S ROCK PACE (1780MS)
HOT CINDER (K Harper) – Over-raced through the early stages of the event.
IL BANDITO (J Rigoli) – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
FORSURE NZ (L Elliott) – Commenced to give ground over the concluding stages of the event to be beaten 57 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. After considering the geldings history, having bled from both nostrils at Gloucester Park on the 14 March 2023, Stewards acting under the provisions of HR101(3)(b) advised Trainer Mr G Collins the gelding will now be barred from racing for life.
RACE 7 – BIG JEDD 2YO PACE (2190MS)
RAVENOUS ROMEO (P Tilbrook) – Commenced to give ground in the vicinity of the 500m to be beaten 99 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed against the geldings racing performance.
BONPOPPY (T Wheeler) – Hung outwards under pressure racing in the front straight on the final occasion.
DOCTOR ROCK (E Suvaljko) – Broke gait shortly after the start was effected. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events. Trailed the field thereafter and took no competitive part.
