Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – HAPPY 80TH HOWARD O'NEILL 3YO PACE (2242MS)
THE SWINDLER (M Ferguson) – Gave ground from the 400m to be beaten 64 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer C Hamilton-Smith advised she will monitor the filly's recovery and report any findings to Stewards.
PERFECT MOVE (M Miller) – Inclined to hang inwards throughout. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 64 metres.
HEARTOFAHLIA (C Voak) – Driver C Voak advised that over the concluding stages of the event the ear plug cord became entangled in the near side hopple loop.
RACE 2 – NATIONAL MOUSSE DAY PACE (1823MS)
ELEPHANT ROCK (D Harper) – Over-raced through the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running for the entirety of the home straight.
GOODONYA MATE (S McDonald) – Held up for clear running for the entirety of the home straight.
RACE 3 – LISTNR APP PACE (1823MS)
STAPLETON (T Lynn) – Inconvenienced leaving the back straight on the final occasion. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 61 metres.
SUBMARINER (M Miller) – Gave ground from the 600m to be beaten 89 metres. A warning was placed against the gelding’s performance.
FUNKY MUSIC (W Andrews) – Initially refused to score up and was subsequently out of position as the start was effected. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events. Gave ground from the 600m to be beaten 128 metres. A warning was placed against the filly's performance. When considering penalty, Stewards took into consideration the distance yielded at the beginning of the event.
MEGA RAGE NZ (C Voak) – Contacted numerous marker pegs entering the front straight on the final occasion.
SOUNDS LIKE FUN (H Charles) – Raced roughly leaving the back straight on the final occasion.
RACE 4 – TABTOUCH HAVE YOU GOT THE TOUCH? PACE (2242MS)
IMAHERO (A Vidovich) – Gave ground from the 600m to be beaten 45 metres.
ALEXANDRA THEGREAT (C Wallrodt) – Over-raced through the early and middle stages. Gave ground from the 400m to be beaten 54 metres. Trainer L Wallrodt was advised a warning will be placed against the mare's racing manners and to make gear changes in an endeavour to get the mare to race tractably.
PECUNIOUS NZ (G Hall Jnr) – Broke gait in the back straight on the final occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 5 – NARROGIN LIQUOR BARONS PACE (2636SS)
READY TO ATTACK (R Donnell) – Swung sideways as the start was effected. Will continue to be placed outside the standing start draw and will be stood from racing until the completion of 1 satisfactory standing start trial.
DANNIKA (K Madden) – Raced roughly as the start was effected. Trainer R Bell was advised the mare will be placed on its last chance in the standing start draw.
MY GRAND ANGUS (K Harper) – Broke gait shortly after the start. Will be placed outside the draw in future standing start events.
IMMACHULATE (S McDonald) – Held up for clear running for the entirety of the home straight.
FOLLOW THE MILKYWAY (T Wheeler) – Severely checked shortly after the start.
RISING SPIRIT (J Suvaljko) – Inconvenienced shortly after the start. .
JACKIE DANIELS (C Voak) – Inconvenienced and raced roughly shortly after the start.
SWANBOURNE SPUNK (E Suvaljko) – Checked and broke gait shortly after the start.
RACE 6 – NARROGIN RACING CAFE PACE (2662MS)
BELLS FOOL (L Elliott) – Gave ground from the 600m to be beaten 65 metres.
RACE 7 – BEFORE IT ALL GETS TOO MUCH TALK TO A MATE PACE (2242MS)
ON GOLDEN ROAD (T Wheeler) – Raced roughly shortly after the start.
RAMTASTIC NZ (J Suvaljko) – Driver J Suvaljko was fined $200 under HR168(1)(a) for careless driving with the particulars being, that when racing into the front straight on the final occasion, he elected to shifted inwards when insufficiently clear of MIDNIGHT REUNION (C Peterson) causing that runner to be checked and carried inwards resulting in TOP SHELF JAMIESON (L Wallrodt) shifting inwards and racing inside several marker pegs. When assessing penalty, Stewards took into consideration Mr Suvaljko’s good record under the rule, his guilty plea, the low-mid level of carelessness and low level of interference.
General: Driver G Schofield pleaded guilty to a charge under HR163(1)(b)(i) for shifting outwards prior to passing the designated ease out pole in the back straight on the final occasion causing CRETACEOUS (D Kerr) to race in a four wide position for a considerable distance. Mr Schofield subsequently had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 7 days to commence at midnight on Saturday, 30 November 2024 and to expire at midnight on Saturday, 7 December 2024. When assessing penalty, Stewards took into consideration Mr Schofield’s good record under this rule and his guilty plea and the level of impact on CRETACEOUS finishing position.
RACE 8 – NARROGIN EARTHMOVING & CONCRETE 2YO WESTBRED FILLIES PACE (1823MS)
DREAM WORLD MISS (C Peterson) – After scratching at 8.02am due to a swollen near-fore leg, Trainer P Anderson advised that the filly will now be going for a spell.
CAPTURE THE MOMENT (L Elliott) – Broke gait in the score up and was subsequently out of position as the start was effected. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.
